The technicians are unbelievably unprofessional. Besides the interactions I have had which involved being spoken to with disrespectful attitude, listening to the conversations that take place amongst the staff is appalling. Everything from inappropriate and disgusting topics to making fun of their clients, witnessed 4 technicians practically violate a client by Googling what this person did for a living and looking up the value of their home because they were making fun of this client and questioning how she could afford her Vet bills. All of this took place in the open as I was checking out and not only heard everything but watched as 2 of the 3 computers were used to look up this person's personal information. After witnessing this kind of behavior I went home and immediately found a new veterinary clinic because if they are willing to do this at the front desk I can only imagine what goes on in the back of the clinic. read more

It is extremely hard to make an appointment without it being 3 months in advance. I brought my husky puppy in to just get vaccinated and I was 10 minutes late due to traffic and trying to get him in the car(huskies can be difficult!) When I walked in no one greeted me or even looked at me. I was told that I need to reschedule so I just said no because it was gonna be another 2 months! I have been a client of Hidden Valley Animal Clinic for 16+ years. Since a few of the original Doctors have retired and they have a new "office manager" things have changed. I wonder if whomever now owns this clinic knows how many people this "Amy" is driving away? My dog who had been under thier care for an illness a few days prior was having an adverse reaction to a commonly prescribed medication. When I called late in the day Wednesday I was told that her normal doctor would not be an until Friday so I asked that another doctor call me back Thursday as I thought that was too long to wait since everything that she was taking in was coming out and she was losing weight. Dehydration was also a concern. Thursday came and went and I never received a call. A sent an email to the veterinary clinic asking why someone had not returned a call to me regarding an animal that has been under their care and who is sick and struggling and this is the response I got back from the office manager... obviously I will be changing veterinary clinics immediately!!! ‐-------- We are a large practice that receives 50 doctor call backs and medication requests every day. We only have 2 or 3 doctors working daily: they see appointments from 8am to 12pm and 2pm-5pm or 2pm-7pm. They often run behind on appointments because they are going above and beyond for other clients' sick pets. This leaves them with less time to address call backs and med requests and not to mention some lunch. At the end of their shift, they finish their medical notes and address what call backs and med requests that they can. We have 7,180 active clients for our practice. This doesn't include our satellite practice that also has clients reach out for call backs and medication requests. Our doctors try really hard to address everything within a couple of days. Every client that calls in is just as important as the other. What is unacceptable is the "same day response" demand that we receive from many clients. Our doctors have families at home and we promote a work life balance. This keeps our doctors and staff healthy and happy. I am sorry you did not get a response quick enough but you did get a response by Friday, which is pretty good. If you feel this is unacceptable than I would suggest going to another practice. As a well known breeder , I see these vets many times a year and cannot understand how anyone could ever have a problem with them! I make it my business to know which vets are good and which are not for my customers sake. In addition , I get feedback all the time FROM my customers . Hidden Valley in Cannonsburg and Washington are outstanding vets , hands down. We have used Hidden Valley Animal Clinic as our vet for over 30 years. We called to schedule an appointment for our dog suffering from a severe cough. "Amy" the office manager, told me it would be best if I called around to other vets as they were considering me a new client. She would be unable to get our dog an appointment until December. We had not been in for a few years mostly due to COVID, but again, we have taken all of our pets to Hidden Valley since 1990. read more

This vet has atrocious customer service and was extremely apathetic towards the well being of our 12 week old puppy. We needed our puppy to see the vet immediately bc it was clear he had an ear infection and would cry when itching his ear, like from living conditions at the place where we adopted him from. Due to road closures we were going to be late to our appointment and called to make sure they could still see him for his ear pain. They said as long as we arrive 15 minutes before closing they would take him. When we arrive we'll before the 15 minute closing they refused to see our puppy which was very clearly in pain. We voice how this was not right and esp since we were told they would still see him. They lied right to our faces and still would not look at this puppy's ear and to make the matters worse they didn't reschedule until 2 weeks later. Do not go here!! They don't care about your pets needs and are rude and apathetic!!! read more

I would give it no stars if it were an option. Our golden had surgery and when we picked him up he was so lethargic, I had to leave him in the car when I got home because I couldn't carry him into the house. After this surgery they pointed out he had another cyst under his neck that should be fine but to let them know. A couple weeks later he was back in there for surgery to remove that cyst and when we asked that they just numb him and not put him under they said they had to put him under. It's all about the money with them. I was going to use their online prescription plan since they had given me a % off coupon. I thought I would order a years worth but much to my surprise they would not allow it first they suggested 30 days because then the coupon would be as beneficial. So upon research I found that Rimadyl has a generic brand which is called Novox which is 100% cheaper than the name brand. Of course they don't tell you that. I have a couple friends who also use this vet whose dogs are on the same medicine and of course they didn't know about the generic brand either!! These are just a few examples but the most recent was when I tried to get his heartgard refilled and of course I used another online company. Well Hidden Valley after all these years (my dog is 8) they want to increase his dosage to 125 since he is 4 pounds over 100. The office manager said this is the first time he has ever been over 100, she is wrong I have invoices which show his weight several times over 100. Finally I received a voice call from the office manager saying they will mail my dogs records to me and they will not ok the heartgard presciption and since I am so unhappy with their service I can go elsewhere. I LOVE this clinic! My dogs are usually terrified going to the vet so the first thing the vet does is to sit on the floor & just soothe them. They also discuss tests/procedures & the cost before hand so there are no surprises. They don't made me feel like a horrible pet owner if I can't afford something, they work with me to find alternatives that I can afford. One of my dogs was on a long-term medication from a previous vet that was extremely difficult to administer. They researched & found an alternative that is much more effective & easier to administer. The staff is patient & kind & I wouldn't go anywhere else! I have recommended them to several friends who are all very happy there too! read more

Hidden Valley has zero customer service and no real concern for sick pets. We have a 9 year-old Yorkie and a Bichon Frise puppy, both regular patients at Hidden Valley where all of their records are located. I have been going to Hidden Valley for many years, more than 15, for all of my previous dogs, with no complaints until recently. Our Yorkie developed a hacking cough overnight and is throwing up blood. When we called today around noon, we were told that she could not be seen today and there were no appointments available all week--we should take her to an animal hospital. We asked to speak with a vet but were told all of them were at lunch and would not return until 2:00 P.M. We requested a call after their lunch. No call so we are taking her to another vet that has none of her records. This is the second time in the last 8 months that this has happened. We are changing vets. My daughter left Hidden Valley a short time ago for the very same reason. So, if you think you will only need a vet for routine stuff that can be scheduled well in advance, consider Hidden Valley. On the other hand, if your pet is like most and may need a vet unexpectedly and on short notice because of a significant accident or illness, look elsewhere. read more

I have been going to Hidden Valley Clinic for so many years i don't even remember when i did start to go.. I have numerous dogs, so have had them there for anything from spay/neuters to diagnosis for cancer.. Dental work, as i have some toy dogs and it is well know that toys loose teeth early... I have one that only has 1 tooth left... another that lost most of her teeth at a fairly young age, about 7yrs or so.. I have always been treated well be the Vets and the Techs... I have been extremely happy with all the care my dogs have gotten there... I have seen several of the Vets, and like them all.. though Julie Iverson, is Vet i see most.. When i have had to let one go to Rainbow Bridge, they have never rushed us, have done everything possible to help make it easier for us... I would not think of changing Clinics... such compassion from them all read more

I've used this animal hospital now for more than 4 years. I'm pleased with the whole process. What I like most about this animal hospital is that I usually can schedule an appointment quickly. When my cat got a cut on her leg, this animal hospital arranged to see her during my lunch break and did stitches that day. They have evening and weekend hours. I see whichever vet is available so I can't say I have developed a deep connection with a particular vet but it's my choice to see whoever is open instead of the same person. I've been satisfied with the treatment we received from each vet. Being able to get prompt and competent care is important to me. I really liked my previous vet who was compassionate but sometimes I had to wait up to 7 days to get an appointment for an illness. read more

We are so thankful for all the fantastic care we have gotten for our dogs. We have had them do everything from spaying our dogs, doing C-sections,teeth cleaning and care, new puppy shots and check-ups. HVAC does our testing for genetic disorders. Do not go here! Took our dog in for a limp and difficult breathing. The vet barely looked at him, just saying he had arthritis and needed updated on vaccinations. We took him for a second opinion less than a week later. The different vet we went to checked him throughly. Found a fatty tumor on his arm, listened to his chest and it sounded off. He took him immediately back for an X-ray and found cancer throughout his lungs. Our beloved dog died just a week after being seen and told he "just has arthritis" by hidden valley!!! This animal hospital is extremely busy, so expect to spend a long time waiting to see a vet. The checkout process takes even longer when waiting for the receptionists to tally up your bill. I spent over $300 for the doctor to do x-rays and blood work that showed no problems. I was told to wait and see. Not exactly the diagnosis I was looking for. read more

I have used this clinic for about 30 years and wouldn't go anywhere else. I usually have 2 or 3 rescue dogs, I have been through too many diseases with all the dogs I have had to even mention and so many times the veterinarians at Hidden Valley have saved their lives. Additionally on rare occasions I have brought in dogs from local Humane Societies on an emergency and I cannot tell you the kindness these animals have been shown and the compassion I have witnessed. I have used this clinic for 30+years. All the veterans are caring and do what ever is in the best interest of the dogs. Last year I had a puppy that was born with bladder stones, a condition no one else had ever seen before. This puppy was suffering and I was afraid I would have to put it down. The doctors worked diligently to find out what was wrong and then find a solution to the problem. The puppy is now a healthy adult. I would never take my dogs anywhere else, they are wonderful and caring. read more

I have gone there a long time. I will never go back after a horrible life changing experience for my two young yorkies, ages 6 and 7. Healthy happy dogs I took for a teeth cleaning. Was never called the 8 hours they spent there. The doctor had 17 teeth pulled from one dog and 20 pulled from the other dog. Major surgery for under 10 pound dogs. Upset we were told the doctor that did this we were unable to talk to. No XRays were done. Not one call to us all day to ask.....which we would have said NO! Were not even given the chance to get a second opinion. They said a lot of tarter.....passed blame to a degree to the tech. My dogs were eating chew bones and playing tug of war the day before. I would think that those 37 teeth would have fallen out....how cruel! NO compassion displayed.....but, walking out for some strange reason they hand us back our $647 check. Please think twice about this big business facility for your young animal not to have to go thru a life changing experience. read more

We had a Golden Retrieve diagnosed by Hidden Valley vets with a ruptured spleen, for which they recommended surgery. They stated that they could do the surgery and proceeded with it the next day...surgery went well but all 3 vets were negligent in their post operative care. Difficulties with the post op recovery led us to take our dog back to Hidden Valley Animal Clinic 3 times after surgery where they continually stated that our dog was recovering well & "looked good". Ultimately, our dog developed a HOLE in its stomach close to the surgical incision, at which time we returned for a FOURTH POST OP VISIT. The vet finally stated that they could not handle the situation and referred us to an animal hospital with "SKILLED" vet surgeons...the Hidden Valley vet stated that "he hated sending them this mess". We went to the animal hospital where their SKLLED Surgeons/Vets could not believe how inappropriate the Hidden Valley post op care was...even down to the simplest thing as making sure they sent our dog home with an E-Collar to prevent the dog from licking its own incision...something that the Hidden Valley vets never even mentioned to us. Ultimately, we could not save our dog due to the NEGLIGENCE of the Hidden Valley vets...something that is very troubling for our family, mostly as we blame ourselves for trusting the vets at Hidden Valley Animal Clinic. I would strongly recommend everyone closely review how their pets are being treated by the Hidden Valley Animal Clinic and strongly urge them to find more qualified and skilled vets that will not harm their pets with their ignorance and/or negligence...something that only hurts us pet-owners. read more
