They will wax eloquent about love and authenticity and then ignore you when you go against them on even the slightest thing in the slightest way. This played out for me in 4 ministries over a year and a half. As a devout believer I am profoundly disappointed in this church and I do not recommend it to anyone who doesn't "fit the mold" of a typical evangelical.

Pastor Matt Chandler is a gifted messenger. Generally, he is videoed in from his campus in Flower Mound, and the other campuses, including Plano, tune in the same way. There is a local pastor who will also speak and also preach, but the majority of the time for now, you will hear Chandler. The truth is powerful, and so is the delivery. A few things to prepare you for your visit: Yes, the church is large. There are multiple services throughout Sunday, we generally attend the 11:15. You do want to arrive 15-30 minutes early to park. People flock to the church, which is a huge blessing and a huge testament to God's work here, but it also means parking gets crowded and you may have to park in the remote shuttle lot if you're not there in time. There is child care - and lots of children and happy families here. The congregation is young - ranging from college kids to young professionals and families. But you won't feel completely out of place is you're above the median age of 25 - we are in our late 20s and mid 30s, my husband and I, and this is a great place for us. The music / worship service is impactful and inspiring. Last week we sung half of our songs in Spanish to reach out to the Spanish speaking community, and particularly to love the visiting in-laws of a staff member who were there from Mexico. They care about connection and about spreading the Gospel very much. I read in another review that it can be hard to meet people. This is completely true. People attend in packs, and they seem to sit and stick together. I've actually only been reached out to by one very kind girl who chatted my husband and I up before service a few weeks ago. And the pastor has introduced himself and welcomed us. We've been visiting for about 4 months now consistently and haven't established any consistent faces to know, mostly because it's so large and many already know each other. We can and will do more to establish relationships, but I do wish that covenant members would be encouraged to extend themselves when they see new faces. We'll be taking the steps to Connect with a life group next, which will help establish some steady local Christian relationships in our lives and we're excited to do so. The Village Church has been a blessing to us, and, again, I would encourage anyone to visit! I'd even be happy to meet you there! :)

I have attended church all of my life, but never treated like this church, it's leaders and even those "friends" have treated me. I heard some good sermons, but when real life situations come along, just know that this pastor and these people will judge you and you can become an outcast they even refuse to acknowledge. They will cut you off. It's been one of the most hurtful, but eye opening experiences in my life. This has to be the takeaway ...that pastors are just people who make mistakes, but it is my belief that they also are in a position of leadership and authority and will be led to correct those, and always act in love, like Christ. This has not been my experience with C3 Trinity or it's members whom were my "friends". I hope they never treat another person like they have me, but I'm smart enough to understand and have a realistic sense that I wasn't the first or, sadly, the last. It is my opinion that, in any church, the members should know the finances of the church they financially support...this is a major issue in churches today. When pastors have financial control and hide their personal finances, members should demand transparency.

Well I came during a "marriage series" which was ok but extremely stiff (coming from a married…read moreperson). It was more like advice from the pastor and his wife's book, than a Biblical message. One of the best things I've learned from preachers is to make sure every sermon speaks to the person who's never gone to a church and may never go again. At the end of the service they did ask if there was anyone wanting to "take that step for the first time", but there was nothing in the sermon that would have encouraged them to do so. God was brought up maybe twice, so the sermon gets 2 stars, the 3rd star is for benefit of the doubt. Personally, I did not feel spiritually fed. Maybe just bad timing. *But nobody talked to us, even though we came early, so the sermon is all I have to go on.

Munger Place is an older Church with some newer updates, including a large screen for lyrics and videos, an elaborate sound system, and an elaborate lighting system. We really enjoyed the message, it was a great mix between biblical focus and historical and anecdotal stories. I would say the message seemed very moderate, nothing too conservative, nothing too liberal. I enjoyed the diversity in terms of the people in the Church. There was not a dominant age range and there was a variety of "types" of people too. It is a casual church, some people had shorts and tshirts on, a few guys still wore suits. I would say the middle is "sundress casual". They were very welcoming but also not in your face. We were able to try the church without feeling like we had to sign up for all sorts of things. They did send us a handwritten thank you for joining them note this last week which was a nice touch. (We filled out a card in the pew). The music was contemporary rock. They have a cage for the drums, so unlike at some churches where the rock band becomes unbearably loud, the noise was nicely controlled here. Coffee in the back, people also brought their own from home and enjoyed it during the service. Overall we enjoyed it and will likely make it one of our normal stops on our list.
