Great service, great pastor, great people. Truly a gospel centered church, with broken people trying to let Christ's light shine.

Very helpful in getting our children checked in and ready for church. Now on to worship, if you want to experience Jesus in a new, exciting way, this is your place! Everyone in the room felt the presence of God. Next, the message. OUTSTANDING! The pastor's wife preached tonight, and she did well communicating with the people in the room. Lastly, the atmosphere. Very comfy, modern, warm and welcoming. Everyone is extremely nice! The groups range from young, teenage, hipster kids to your elder, sweet, and adorable grown ups. Although we live in Fort Worth, I believe we have found our church home. By the way, we attended the 5 p.m. service on a Sunday. This is everything I've ever wanted in a church!

I attended Upper Room for the first time last night for the 5PM Sunday service. I have to say, my…read moregreatest take away was the Worship. It was really lovely to see people worshipping The Lord with no boundaries and no care for what others think - just true authentic worship. With that said, there are a few things that set off alarm bells for me. 1 of them being the save seats culture here, we arrived 30 min early and people had ENTIRE rows saved. If I had been a first-time church goer, this would absolutely make me stay away from church. It was SO discouraging to see people saving seats in mass quantities, it came off very cliquey and NOT of The Lord. Church should be like a welcoming place for everyone. Secondly, the way in which tongues are spoken and encouraged felt like a huge red flag. The way tongues were being spoken - did not align with the bible in ANYWAY. I fully believe in the gifts of the spirit, but it felt like the singers were just shouting them out all willy nilly and it didn't feel genuine. It felt like it was being used as a way to draw attention to themselves. When it was time for an alter call, one of the singers encourage everyone to make sounds and speak in tongues to the Lord. This is promoting a very unhealthy practice. Not everyone has this gift and as it states in the bible - if done in public, there should be a translator. Lastly, I realize that the normal pastor was not preaching this day but the man who did preach probably gave the absolute worst sermon Ive ever hear. It was basically him ranting for an hour about how you need to keep your eyes on jesus. And while i greatly appreciated the basis of the message. there was no scripture and he was ALL OVER THE PLACE...telling stories that didnt tie back into the general message. If someone had come to church, hungry for the word of God.. they wouldnt have recieved it and that is a huge problem. Not to mention him saying that Jesus dying on the cross for our sins was not the whole gospel.... I'm sorry what? I truly believe God is moving in this place but I also believe this entire congregation is promoting a feelings-based relationship with God and that is so dangerous.

I have attended church all of my life, but never treated like this church, it's leaders and even those "friends" have treated me. I heard some good sermons, but when real life situations come along, just know that this pastor and these people will judge you and you can become an outcast they even refuse to acknowledge. They will cut you off. It's been one of the most hurtful, but eye opening experiences in my life. This has to be the takeaway ...that pastors are just people who make mistakes, but it is my belief that they also are in a position of leadership and authority and will be led to correct those, and always act in love, like Christ. This has not been my experience with C3 Trinity or it's members whom were my "friends". I hope they never treat another person like they have me, but I'm smart enough to understand and have a realistic sense that I wasn't the first or, sadly, the last. It is my opinion that, in any church, the members should know the finances of the church they financially support...this is a major issue in churches today. When pastors have financial control and hide their personal finances, members should demand transparency.

Section of Victorian-style, red brick building was erected 1890; is only downtown Dallas church still on original site. George W. We did feel like the 'token' gay couple, it was a bit uncomfortable. Sort of surprised because we really thought in that area, there'd be plenty others there. After service the girl at the welcome desk had a conversation with me but literally no other members spoke a word to us. So I enjoyed the sermon but the welcoming left something to be desired. Munger Place is an older Church with some newer updates, including a large screen for lyrics and videos, an elaborate sound system, and an elaborate lighting system. We really enjoyed the message, it was a great mix between biblical focus and historical and anecdotal stories. I would say the message seemed very moderate, nothing too conservative, nothing too liberal. I enjoyed the diversity in terms of the people in the Church. There was not a dominant age range and there was a variety of "types" of people too. It is a casual church, some people had shorts and tshirts on, a few guys still wore suits. I would say the middle is "sundress casual". They were very welcoming but also not in your face. We were able to try the church without feeling like we had to sign up for all sorts of things. They did send us a handwritten thank you for joining them note this last week which was a nice touch. (We filled out a card in the pew). The music was contemporary rock. They have a cage for the drums, so unlike at some churches where the rock band becomes unbearably loud, the noise was nicely controlled here. Coffee in the back, people also brought their own from home and enjoyed it during the service. Overall we enjoyed it and will likely make it one of our normal stops on our list.

Sunday services at the South Campus (Carrollton) are at 9 AM and 11:30 AM. The teaching pastor of the day travels to the North Campus (McKinney) in between the two South Campus services to deliver the same message there live, then returns to Carrollton for the 11:30 service. Pastors Amie and Stacey are the Lead Pastoral Team, with Pastor Amie and her team of teaching pastors doing a wonderful job of speaking the Word of God into the hearts, spirits, and minds of their flock in person and online. (The South Campus Sunday services are live on YouTube and at covlive.online.church. One will be posted permanently on Covenant's YouTube channel, on Monday at the latest. Speaking about YouTube, Covenant Worship is powerful; just listen! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCFfLNdOSbQn07h6_yXPtVrQ.) Covenant is truly a multigenerational multicultural non-denominational community. (Covenant Church practices child dedication and water baptism by immersion but is not a Baptist church in any sense.) The worship team and the teaching pastors work in tandem so that the music choices not only lead everyone into deep and meaningful worship but prepare them to hear the intentional life-changing message. This leads to multiple salvations at every service. Covenant's Core Values are: * Know God * Find Freedom * Discover Purpose * Make a Difference That plan means that whatever your age or spiritual maturity when you come to this church, Covenant is ready, through small topical groups, weekend events, short-term classes and other formats for lifetime learning to help you make sure that you have a deep and personal relationship with Jesus no matter what is happening around you. The foundational practices to growing in "knowing God" are reading and understanding the Bible as God's Word, and prayer as two-way communication with Him through the power of the Holy Spirit. "Finding freedom" is the next goal and may happen privately at any point in one's spiritual journey but Freedom Groups, a 14-week course, is a primary tool. "Discovering (your) Purpose" can change over a lifetime of circumstantial changes but Growth Track is especially designed to help you find God's purpose for your life. Making a difference, whether it is spreading the Good News of Jesus privately or publicly, providing physical needs and assistance along with being ready to meet spiritual needs, comes naturally to those who have an intimate relationship with their Maker and Savior, who have found freedom and purpose, encouraged by the excellent preaching and teaching from the pastors and the Covenant community surrounding them.
