I got saved by listening to GODS true word from Bishop Jakes in 2016. I highly recommend this church family to worship with

One thing that has changed for me during COVID-19 pandemic was the way I receive God's word on a regular basis. Though I am not an active member of The Potter's House of Dallas, I do attend and follow services via YouTube throughout the week. Oh, and what a luxury it is being able to hear the sermons by the founder, Bishop T.D. Jakes wherever I may be or during any time of the day. I hope to someday attend this non-denominational mega church in person in Dallas Texas because the sermons speak to me. T.D. Jakes word not only enlightens me but gives me that inspiration that my mental health yearns for throughout the week when battling with stressors. Dear Potters House. I'm concerned about a incident that happened to an Angel at heart, who attends your services every Sunday. Last Sunday as she was leaving, what she noted as one of the best services she'd attended, she was giving a traffic violation for what she assumed was helping with traffic stoppage after the service. Short version, there were cones blocking the street, delaying cars, so she took it upon herself to move the cone from the road that was blocking traffic. Not knowing this was illegal, her thoughts of kindness prompted an officer to give her a citation. Why not a mere warning and explanation? Is it the time of month that quotas need to be meet by DPS? This is a 72 year old beautiful soul that belongs to God, and to experience such an outright slap on the wrist, for doing what she thought was right, its just is so very sad and shameful. This Angel of God definitely accepted responsibility and willing to pay, but I personally think it's an outrageous jester on part of the officer. No name or badge was mentioned but I certainly think that the officers that are hired to direct traffic for the Potters House should show more respect and dignity to all patrons that attends your services. They have one service at 9am and you must wear a mask. I have always wanted to visit this church and hear bishop preach in person. Bishop T. D. Jakes brought a mighty message entitled, "Desperate Faith!" The message was just what I needed and was very powerful. The praise and worship was phenomenal. The spirit was really there. I have been an online member for 7 years and finally got the chance to visit. This church is amazing. People begin to line up at 7am and the doors open at 7:30am. The church starts filling up at 8am. I just wanted to share this information because I couldn't find the information anywhere. Church ends are 11:30am depending on who's speaking and may last until 12:30pm or later. There is a uber/lyft drop off lane, and also a shuttle to get to the off campus parking. Everything about this church is amazing from the moment you walk in the front doors. read more

Bishop Jakes taught from Ephesians 2:1-10 and how we (born again Believers) were saved and adopted into the family of Christ. This was my first time here but it certainly won't be my last. There is always something new at the Potter's House, be it in the message given by Bishop T.D. Jakes or other guest pastors. I've been coming to this church for five months now and have always left the service very much uplifted spiritually. One recommendation is for first-time visitors or regulars to arrive at church early on Sundays. The Sunday service starts at 9:00 AM yet I would be there at 8:00 or 8:15 AM due to the parking + seating. The parking is handled very, very well with the help of DPD and volunteers, etc. The church has two levels in the main sanctuary as well as a chapel in the event of overflow (which was well-represented during New Year's Eve) that can accommodate at least 5,000-6,000 people by my estimate. There is also a bookstore within the church to purchase the Bishop's teachings as well as many other authors, to include First Lady Serita Jakes, Dr. I AM Jazz, Pastor Joel Olsteen and Pastor Van Moody among others. This is one church that I am very proud to be a part of, be it the main campus (Dallas) or the Fort Worth and Plano campuses. Preaches the word of faith heresy. TD Jake's does not preach according to the Word of God. His sermons are full of biblical error and some outright heresy like the "little Gods" doctrine or the "you didn't receive it because you didn't have enough faith" as if faith is a tangible substance. Trust me no "amount of faith" will move the hand of God. Sometimes His answer is no. Avoid this watered down preaching and prosperity gospel ridden church. I came here for the Celebrate Recovery Summit. I had an amazing time. There is a cool coffee shop with an amazing staff. Super friendly and delicious food. The cleaning crew for the restrooms is phenomenal! This church keeps things clean. read more

Beautiful Easter Service. Huge with lots of people but very organized, including parking. Be prepared to arrive in your seat a minimum of 1 hour before service. Or you will have difficulty finding seating. Folks were friendly. Bishop Jakes did not disappoint. read more

Praise the Lord Saints! Giving honor to God...the Bishop, all the ministers on the roster and all my fellow sisters and brothers in Christ.... So we went from the strip club to the Lord's house. Now y'all know that's ratchet but it's called BALANCE! LOL TD wasn't there but we heard such a powerful word from another minister, I didn't even mind anymore. I attended Bishop TD Jakes' The Potter's House on the 31st of December 2018 New Year's Eve service and I wasn't disappointed. I've always seen in on TV or in movies, seeing him live was definitely something. I blessed him for using God's money wisely. Building a magnificent church and having a wonderful organization. One thing they could improve on is the quality of sound and video for people at the back. It was really hard to hear him and see him on those giant screens. read more

Thank you Lord for sending me on a mission to be seated at The Potter's House. Today was the first time that I had been able to visit Bishop & First Lady Jakes' church. I have been watching them on tv for over 20 years. They are like foster parents to me and they don't even know it. I was excited and nervous to come because it was the first time and I'm usually a bit hesitant about visiting a "mega church". However I was greatly surprised and very pleased on just how mega my experience was. I rode in from out of town unable to stop at my hotel to drop off my luggage. I caught an Uber straight there with all of my bags in hand. The Uber driver Paul said "you won't believe that I just dropped someone off there right before you. Another young lady that flew in from Indiana just to visit the church." That made me happy because I had travelled for over 12 hours to visit the church. I was happy that the Lord had put me with a driver or shall I say apostle Paul (his mother named all of her sons after apostles in the Bible) that had been down to The Potter's House before. When I got there I was instructed to walk up the hill and that I would see the entrance. I really felt strange because I had on athletic clothing, tennis shoes, a long duster jacket and a cap along with 3 bags. I didn't have enough time to stop at my hotel to drop off my luggage due to the time change. Nonetheless I kept up the hill not knowing how the people were going to see me. If they were going to judge me. If I was going to stand out like a sore thumb and be condemned because of my appearance and my baggage. As soon as I walked in I was greeted with a warm smile and kind words by a lovely greeter who had relocated from Reserve Louisiana. I told her my story and apologized for my appearance. She immediately told me very sweetly and lovingly to hush "we are happy to have you it doesn't matter how you come we are just happy you are here". Whew! That took a load off. I had to hug her for saying that. She walked me to the visitors registration desk where I signed in and they gave me 2 FREE dvds from prior services! After I signed in they asked me to stand by and someone would come and get me and bring me to preferred seating. Again I had all this baggage and I didn't know what I would do with it once I was in the church. As Mr Curtis brought me to my seat I was greeted with so many smiles and kind greetings that it made me feel more comfortable. It was like no one noticed all of my bags. I got to my pew and there I sat anxious to see what the Lord had in store for me. The pews were long and comfortable with enough room to store my baggage underneath. The lighting was beautiful and welcoming. The choir was so phenomenal I thought I was at a music festival in New Orleans!!! Then the announcer came out and said that the Bishop was out of town on a mission. I thought to myself wow! Although he is not here physically they are treating me as though He is here watching them. Everyone I ran into was all on one accord and I felt so welcomed and loved. Service was amazing and Bishop Blue delivered an on time word. When service was over I sat on the curb by the hill waiting with my bags on the ground for my uber driver. I thought to myself "what an experience". Not one time did I feel like a small fish in a big pond. Not one time did I feel overwhelmed by the size of the church. Not one time did I feel unloved, unnoticed and forgotten about. The only thing mega about this church was the genuine love, care, and concern that they showed to the people of God. There were many different races, cultures, and people from all over the country. We were all on one accord. Ready, willing, and grateful to be in the house of the Lord. I say this to tell the world if you are looking for a church home or if you are in Dallas please make sure you stop and visit The Potter's House. They will love on you and make you feel like you are apart of their family. Thank you Bishop and First Lady Jakes for building and cultivating the Kingdom in such a mega way. Called the church because I plan on visiting for the first time and (SMH) the young lady I spoke with was cold, not helpful and overall left a very bad taste in my spirit. It was like she couldn't believe I was calling asking about parking, hotels in the area, or the process of how things flow with such a huge church. Bishop TD Jakes is undoubtedly one of the most anointed preachers I have ever had the privilege to hear preach. I have been a member of the church for many years, but I no longer attend. These are the issues that i have with the church: 1. After years of fighting to get in and out of the Superbowl type parking situation, I realized that I can see the entire service from the comfort of my living room. 2. The mega church prosperity message and movement is pervasive. Bishop Jakes has a gift of convincing you that God is going to give you blessings overflowing. Like all of the other prosperity preachers, the seed gift, offering, tithe message is closely linked to the promise of God. I found myself giving more than I could afford; often all that I had. And I became angry with God that the "things" that Bishop Jakes kept promising me were not happening. The only thing that seemed to be happening was that he was getting richer and I was getting poorer by emptying my purse into his bucket every Sunday. The prosperity message is a message that eventually drives people out of the church because they feel that they've been duped. 3. The Potter's House has a monthly new members reception. When I became a new member years ago I was deeply saddened by the fact that the pastor did not make an appearance. A week or two later, someone from the welcoming committee called to see how I liked the church. I told her I was disappointed that I did not get to meet my pastor and that I was certain that I would meet Jesus before I met Jakes. Years later, I was certain that my original impression was a certainty. I began to feel a sadness that my pastor would never know my name. My grandfather was a pastor when I was child. I remember how connected he was with his congregation. So I felt a void in a church where I was unknown, untouched and unimportant to my pastor. 4. God is not a respecter of persons, but Bishop Jakes is. It bothered me to see celebrities and sports figures on the first row while everyone else scrambled to get a seat. Why couldn't they sit where everyone else sits? It felt Hollywood. 5. My mother was on the New Members Committee and constantly got her feelings hurt by petty church politics. A few people have tiny positions that have caused them to have tremendous pride and tremendous need to wield control without exercising compassion or kindness when dealing with others. 6. It began to feel like a great show. Bishop Jakes is inspiring and entertaining. The music is fabulous. Everything is perfectly staged. I enjoy a great show from time to time. So now I just turn on my TV when the spirit hits me. The Potter's House is worth the price of admission if you've never been. If you're in Dallas, check it out. read more

I'm friends with a person that has been a long time member of the Potter's House and I seldom visit to get a dose of encouragement and empowerment. The church is lead by dynamic world-renowned Bishop T.D. Jakes. During my first visit over a decade ago I felt overwhelmed by the size of the facility and congregation. There was so much going on that it was hard to concentrate on worshipping however after meeting a member and going regularly I've become accustom to it. Advantages: Relevant, practical sermons by Bishop Jakes Grammy award winning choir Disadvantages: Lots of walking from the parking lot to your seat For those who like to get in and get out on Sundays the service may seem too long Things can get interesting at times with such a diverse crowd but if you can tune out everything going on around you, you're sure to learn something Since my first visit I've joined a different church but Potter's House is great to visit. read more

There is nothing bad to say about my church. My husband and I joined back in 2006 when we first became engaged. When our daughter was 3 months old we took her to the alter to be dedicated to Christ. Now she is in the Children's Choir. God is doing great things at this church and every time we come we leave feeling better. I love my church!! It's a mega church but the love you feel there. Bishop Jakes really loves the congregation. I love the fact that church is not the same every Sunday. Absolutely love Bishop TD Jakes and his teachings. He has been nothing but a blessing to me and my family since he set foot in Texas from West Virginia. I've grown accustomed to the large congregation although it was challenging at first, but have since gotten use to the growing population of followers looking to get fed the true word of God. I was so happy when Bishop created a satellite campus in Parker, Tx just cuz it's less than 3 miles from my house. On some mornings the drive from Allen to Dallas can be brutal especially when u want to get there early enough to get a good seat, but even still, when I get there its worth it. His 'feel good' sermons are so uplifting. Why not 5-stars? Well, my only knock is the parking. It can be a challenge especially when trying to leave. There's just not enough exits to accomodate the large amount of cars all of which are trying to leave at the same time. To sum up Bishop and his teachings my suggestion is to check him out for yourself and not from afar. Don't yield to heresay or make a judgement call from what you may have heard without checking him out yourself. In my opinion he's the real deal minus the controversy you get from other nationally known pastors. read more

They have a growing youth ministry and it's a wonderful place to be for families. Parking can be a little tricky so get there early to reserve your spot and I hope you do not mind a little walking! I had a soul-stirring, foot tappin', hand clappin' experience at the Potter's House on my visit to Dallas. This particular service was special because it was the celebration of their 15th anniversary. Bishop TD Jakes was there and had a very inspirational message to share. The choir sounded like there were thousands of people singing, and they sang some of my favorite songs. Some of the members brought their tambourines - I wanted one too! Although the church is very large, the members were friendly and very accommodating, and I would visit again the next time I have the opportunity. read more

LOVE, LOVE, LOVED my time here at TPH Dallas! I travelled all the way down from Houston to visit the well know TPH church with Pastor TD Jakes. I was praying and hoping that he was there and not on the road and boy was here there! The blessings from the sermon was out of this world and the spirit filled the huge sanctuary. Being a "mega church" I thought it would feel very disconnected but not at all. It had a down home southern feel just on a large scale. The Parking was smooth, the walk over the bridge was beautiful as i got to engage and talk with people on the way. You could take a shuttle over but I left that for the elderly and people with children. Im not going to lie, its a bit of a far walk. The ushers were everywhere and there was support all over the building. we nabbed a great seat in the balcony and was super comfortable. The exit procedure was seamless and ran like a well oiled machine. Id like to visit again soon!!!!!!!! read more
