As a past Plentea employee, I feel this should be said. I hope the San Francisco location closes too, just as Berkley did. This establishment is long due for a good closing. I found the drinks to actually be "okay" when compared to another simple Milk Tea establishments. You did a good job adding colorful words to something as simple as tea and milk. You even were able to charge customers extra money by simply having the drinks be in a glass container. Sorry to those who ever bought the cakes or takoyaki. Just so you know, we bought those at Costco. Did it ever occur to you that we do not own an oven? It also took less than 2 minutes to cut a slice of cake and drizzle some Hershey's chocolate syrup to make it look pretty. Thank you again for your hard earned money. You were a terrible boss, Henry. You made some of the employees cry and that was not cool. It was also not cool when I was just starting to learn the job and you SWUNG YOUR FIST towards my face as if you wanted to kick my a**. Provoked assault is not a solution to a mistake of a recent employee. I also noticed that you paid a employee cash and was wondering if you happen to know what tax fraud was. You did a good job making my work environment a memorable learning experience. One more thing. Shout out to the Super Duper restaurant across the street. It was made clear to the customers that if they wanted to use the bathroom, the burger place was the way to go. I was told Super Duper's manager came over to complain and it was ignored. I love the name Pleantea! It's definitely one of the more creative boba shop names I've seen lately. My go-to order at Pleantea, especially when I'm in the area, is the oolong milk tea with boba. What I truly appreciate is the glass cup they use for serving. While I don't always return it for the refill discount, I do recycle them at home and enjoy them as reusable water glasses. Compared to other tea shops, Pleantea's oolong milk tea is slightly lighter. However, considering the price point is a dollar lower and they use a glass cup, the value is excellent. Taste, of course, is subjective. With a 25% sweetness level, I can still taste enough to determine the presence of tea, but not enough to discern its quality. Ultimately, for my palate, the milk tends to mask the tea flavor regardless. Overall, if I'm in the area and craving boba, Pleantea is my first choice. The combination of a refreshing oolong tea, eco-friendly glass cups, and a fair price point keeps me coming back for more. read more

Tea should taste smooth, not bitter/strong, and definitely not light. Their drinks give just the right amount of flavor. Plus, you can adjust your sweetness of your drink which is awesome! I highly recommend the crema drinks with oolong tea. It's sooo refreshing! Reminds me of a root beer float but instead of soda, it has tea! Into their cute glass bottle labeled with "Plentea", the smooth and milky crema topping floats beautifully above the tea. You can drink it either through the straw or from the bottle. Other than great flavor, presentation is on point! It's a fun drink to have as a dessert or on a hot day. Their honey lemon tea seems to be popular. I will definitely come back for more. read more

Most of the Plenteas are located in the heart of the city, where you should not expect to find parking. Try and make your way down there if you're in the neighborhood or through public transportation. The lines are crazy during the day and if you ask me, it is not worth all the troubles. I feel like there are plenty (Haha) of places to grab a couple of decent boba drinks that are just as good and cheaper. I do like the idea of recycling bottles to get a 10% discount on your next purchase, but I honestly haven't seen anyone do that. If they really cared, they'd offer a bigger discount. That's my two cents. Usually, the drinks come out to be $5-6 and it isn't the greatest drink I have ever had. I do think it is worth the hype to try it, but it is not the type of place where frequent boba lovers would go back and enjoy some drinks. read more

Pretty good! They seem to be following in the footsteps of Boba Guys and Asha in Berkeley. Perfect location after a nice shopping trip like today. The décor is nice and there is a lot of seating. Very light and airy. It's wood and white like Boba Guys and minimalistic. Not as dark as Asha. My only gripe is they are really pricey. I thought Boba Guys was expensive for their hipster boba. At least they are more creative. Plentea has great fruit teas which makes it different. I had one today. The strawberry oolong. I can only think of Asha that is as good as this place in that department. I'll be back again when I visit the area. I absolutely love the jar. Going to put some flowers in it right now! read more

I think the hype is finally dying down. My first time here, I got the sea salt crema. It's not bad, but it's not good... it's alright and I wouldn't order it again. I gave Plentea a second chance and this time ordered a fresh fruit tea which was pretty good. The tea comes in glass bottles which is cute, but over priced. They offer 20% off if you recycle your bottles or use a plastic cup, but they don't even rinse out the glass bottles.... GROSS! Needless to say, I don't recycle glass bottles after seeing that. Overall, I'm not too impressed but there aren't many boba options in the fidi so I do come here from time to time. read more

Pros: Glass bottles! No cute images printed on them but basic rectangular bottles that looks like old school milk bottles. The lids are like the metal caps from Snapple so I'm impress how they're trying to move away from plastic. Menu is pretty minimal and not overwhelming. They also work with Ritual now! Prices are fair too, about $4.50 Cons: Not giving them 5 stars only because their drinks are inconsistent from time to time. Hit or miss because their drinks can be bland sometimes. Went to plentea with my gf because my friends told me to try it out. Got there around 5pm and there was a little line.We waited for about 10mins to get our orders in. I got the sea salt creme oolong tea with honey tapioca. The drink itself I thought tasted a bit weird, but got use to it and the tapioca was horrible, it wasn't sweet at all and it was hard. My gf got their avocado fresh fruit milk drink with honey tapioca, the drink was OK and again the tapioca sucks! The only pro thing about it is their glass bottle and you get to keep it. Couple of days ago, I gave plentea another go (couple years later, haha). Before, I despise plentea when I first visited because the drinks were bland and watery *super expensive too)*. ): Now, they improved so much better. The drinks have a strong tea flavor that I was searching for! Downside is the pricing for the drinks. Even bringing the bottle back and get 10% off is nothing. Today it was short day at work so I finally got the chance to check this place. so I ordered sweet taro milk with 2 topping (grass jelly and taro pudding). I couldn't taste any taro pudding and "taro mild". I tasted the grass jelly, regular milk and couple small chunk of taro. This drink was ridiculous overrated and very disappointed. Drinks are overpriced, and it's more sugar than tea. The glass jars are a gimmick -- there's not much in there and gives them an excuse to charge a ton for very little content. The service is awful -- the guy picked up the phone in the middle of our order, so of course, he forgets to add boba in our drink as we asked right before he took the call. Then, when our drink came with no boba in it, they argued with us saying that we never ordered it, and then said "Fine, give us 55 cents and we'll put it in". Rude. read more

Usually there's a long long going out the door onto the sidewalk so I thought why not finally cease the opportunity to give it a try when there was no line. The glass bottles are really aesthetic, but the content inside of the glass wasn't. I was getting more of a band tea flavor than peach.. the boba was alright, but I still prefer T-Pumps I guess.
