While we were in San Francisco, my daughter really wanted to get a special drink with popping Boba. We had done a bunch of research ahead of time and had our hearts set on a particular location, but when we got there, they didn't have the popping Boba she wanted. Needless to say, she was a little disappointed. I told her, "Let's just walk around Chinatown. I'm sure we'll find something!" And find something we did! We were heading to the Golden Gate Fortune Cookie Factory when we noticed By Me Boba Tea right next door. We decided to pop in and see if they had the popping Boba drinks she was looking for--and they did! She was thrilled. The shop was really cute, with adorable lanterns that immediately caught our attention and drew us inside. The store was clean, there was plenty of seating, and they had lots of different drink and topping options. My daughter got exactly what she wanted, and she loved it! In fact, she liked it so much that she wanted to go back again during our trip. Unfortunately, it wasn't close to the other places we were visiting, so we never made it back. If you're visiting Chinatown, I definitely recommend stopping at By Me Boba Tea, especially if you're planning to visit the Golden Gate Fortune Cookie Factory. Ain't nothing like the real thing baby!!! Authentic milk tea from family owned business. No powders here, my friend. Real tea, which makes all the difference in taste. The Original Taiwan Milk Tea with boba was delicious and very well balanced. Some places make it too sweet or too milky, but they come correct with their recipe. I just so happened to be in the area (coming from Sacramento) and was craving boba, so I decided to give this place a try. I ordered the Passion Fruit Slushy, while my husband ordered the Mango Yakult Fruit Tea. The customer before me happened to order a Passion Fruit Slushy, and after seeing how good it looked, I knew I had to get one too. One thing I did notice was that the photo on the kiosk for the passion fruit slush didn't quite match the drink that was actually served. Thankfully, the real thing looked even better. Our drinks came out surprisingly fast, and the customer service was friendly and consistent throughout our visit. When our drinks came out, all I can say is this was hands down the best passion fruit slushy I've ever had--and I'm not exaggerating. It tasted incredibly fresh and was packed with flavor. Most places I've tried tend to lose their flavor once the ice starts melting, but somehow this place has perfected their slushies because mine stayed flavorful the entire time. My husband also really enjoyed his Mango Yakult Fruit Tea and said it's a great option if you're looking for something fruity. This shop is so cute, and it is seated right next to the Golden Gate Cookie Factory, which made it an easy stop. No kiosk so I ordered this at the front with the cashier: (5/10) Brown sugar boba - average. Boba was not very chewy and was a bit hard at the center like they didn't boiled for long enough. The boba wasn't soaked all the way to the inside with sugar. Service was fast since we were the only ones ordering. The cafe is stationed in a cute alleyway next to the Golden Fortune Cookie Factory. The alley way walls decorated with murals with lanterns hanging above the store front (it's hard to miss). Reasonably priced and quality boba tea in SF. There wasn't a line when we visited so we didn't wait long for our drinks. There was available adjustments to the ice and sugar levels. I personally found the drinks to be tea centric so it wasn't too sweet. While I usually get my drinks at 25% sweetness, 50% was ideal. *Wintermelon Fruit Tea: greater emphasis on the wintermelon. There was a citrusy after taste but it mostly had a naturally sweet and earthy profile. I added aloe to my drink which gave it some more sweetness and texture. Overall, it tasted more tea forward which I prefer. *Caramel Milk Tea: one of the best caramel milk teas I've tried. There was almost a coffee, smokey richness to this drink. It's not overly sweet or artificial tasting like other renditions. Similarly, the tea was front and center which complemented the toasty notes. A good pit stop when in strolling around Chinatown. I probably will try more of their milk teas when I return as they seemed more memorable than the fruit options. read more

Located in the oldest alley in Chinatown, we stopped in for a drink and my expectations were shattered. The decorations feel very light and friendly. I ordered the white peach fruit tea with jasmine and it was the best tea I have ever had. Lil peach bits at the bottom of the cup. It didn't taste like other fruit teas I've had in the past at other places that just taste like artificial sugar. I was really impressed and my wife enjoyed her brown sugar pearl milk which is good because I know she was feeling a bit under the weather. Everyone was really friendly and didn't take long for our drinks considering how busy it is next to the fortune cookie factory(you should definitely swing by). The only thing I have trouble with is inserting the straw into the drink. It reminds me of using the straw for a caprisun but way more difficult. Luckily no issues here! read more
