I was in need of a strong wake me up and I got one here. There's a professional tea slinger (I didn't get his name) here slinging tea from one can to another. This action aerates the tea giving that smooth foamy texture. The combination of strong black tea with a balanced mix of aromatic Chai spices along with frothy whole milk was smooth, smooth, smooth! Definitely a kick in the pants that I needed early afternoon. The service was thoughtful and informative as well. There's another version of this tea with saffron that I'll try before I leave Montreal on this trip. read more

TL;DR/The Short Version: Can't speak about their teas but their cookies are thick, heavy, rich and buttery. The Slightly Longer Version: Plentea is a tea shop that also sells cookies! I didn't have any tea but had their matcha cookie which had large dark chocolate chunks in it. The matcha flavour was strong, which I liked. The cookie was really thick and felt heavy in my hands, lol. It was rich and buttery and oh so decadent. They had lots of varieties of cookies and several with Middle Eastern influences, like Kunafe and Baklava cookies. I heard they had an Um Ali cookie too, but this wasn't available when I went. A cozy tea oasis on St. Catherine! No-frills tea shop; not a boba chain. They sell cookies, paratha, and bags of loose-leaf. I got their crème-brûlée cookie to pair with an iced Peach Breeze. My partner got a baklava cookie to pair with a hot After Sunrise. Legitimately perfect drinks - not too sweet but just enough to give you a hint of fruity tones. Just a solid experience from beginning to end. And they're open until 23h! Come give this place some love; you won't regret it :) will be back without question!! read more

I stopped by after lunch at a nearby ramen place, thinking I could pick up my first Montréalais bubble tea, but I discovered this is a legit tea shop sans toppings. I noticed that shop has a calm ambiance, and with just one person at the register as I pondered the choices, I settled on the iced coconut cream oolong latte. I requested the lowest amount of sugar and less ice. The woman helping me was friendly and patient and made my drink just as I'd requested. Great service and a nice place to have conversations. So the coconut cream is actually the flavor of the oolong and I got to choose between dairy, almond, and soy milks. I went with almond and as I took my first sip, I gasped to both of my ATs that the tea was *very* good. I passed my cup around as we walked on Saint-Catherine and they both agreed. I grabbed a baklava cookie to go, though I've yet to try it. I saw a kunafa cookie that piqued my interest, seeing as I love the actual Middle Eastern knafeh. I shall return to try it. And maybe a matcha one, if any remain. read more

Plentea is here to change the game! Plentea is located right on Ste Caths and offers the best tea experience you'll ever have! They have several menu items from green teas to oolongs and everything inbtween however don't expect to get your regular old tea bag because here you'll have all your apices and teas measured and made fresh to order each time. So you know it'll be the best tea you ever drink. If you had to try only one of the amazing teas from here get your self the chai karak I promise it'll be something you love. Il mixe sur place thé et épices pour en faire des concoctiions delicieuses. Tput les mélanges sont devant nous avec des produits frais et un savoir et une technique qui fait la différence. Pour commencer jai gouter a l'heure Tisanne tropicale Kiwi et fraise, une saveur forte, étonnante, servit chaude un gout exquis. J'ai aussi gouter a leur Chai OMG un mix parfait complexe qui nous donnes envie découvrir la recette. J'ai aussi gouté au Tinted Gold fait de curcuma et chocolat noir un gout subtil. Vraiment une place a the et tisannes exceptionnel. Bon plus il font d'excellents biscuit tendre et savoureux certains des classiques et dautres plus originaux. Upon my second visit to their cute and cozy downtown space, I tried two different teas and two different cookies. Before I say anything specific about these items, I have to say this tea shop concept is both fresh and refreshing at the same time. First off, they have two side-by-side display cases with tasty looking dome shaped cookies of various colors and toppings. In the front corner they have a seating area overlooking a main shopping corridor. There is a very well thought out color coded menu, laying out their freshly brewed milk and non-milk based teas (available hot or cold) which include authentic tastes from all corners of the world plus several frappes. Further down the counter, sits a selection of prepackaged bulk tea blends (also available online). Above this is signage displaying their four paratha (a South Asian-style flatbread made in-house as are the other baked goods) offerings - more creations in the works. Finally, the rear section of the counter is where the tea magic happens. There they blend the teas with crushed spices (depending on the recipe) fresh to-order; adding milk or non-dairy milks; obviously only if one of their milk teas. Before I review the actual items, I must note the owners and staff are more than willing to engage in thoughtful conversation about their concept and offerings. This part really added to the experience - this is no old-school tea house. So where do I begin, with the tea or the cookie? Kind of like the chicken or the egg conundrum, but different. Okay, let's start with the tea, since the cookies can't be dipped without it. I tried the rooibos milk tea with oat milk and did it ever have a smooth and creamy texture. The flavor was more subtle than the non-milk version I first had while sitting in the hotel after first arriving in Cape Town, but I prefer that. I was lucky enough to also sip their Karak (one of their specialties) spiced tea which was one of the most memorable milk teas I can recall. Also smooth and creamy, but the cardamon and other spices were so well integrated making for a subtle richness I've rarely come across; especially in a Western country. Now for the two cookies, beetroot macadamia and baklava topped. To not say these were both memorable and delicious would be unjust. Neither was overly sweet, but sweet enough to be what one usually wants in a cookie. They were substantial, had a moister inside almost cookie dough constancy center and just enough fillings or toppings to make it indulgent. What made it even more so was dipping them in the tea. Funny enough the two last bites made their way into the tea and needed to be 'rescued' after I drained the remaining liquid. Thankfully, it was only a mild cookie emergency, but all worked out in the end. With that, I will end with an intentional pun... there is plenty to get excited about at Plentea! read more

Came here for a yelp elite event and just had to get the salted caramel tea (Amber spice) !!! The crew here were super passionate about their Tea Bar!! They were very knowledgeable about the teas. They performed a beautiful presentation on the teas they served and we got to try 3 different kinds ! We even got custom made sleeves so personalized wow! The teas were fresh , authentic and just insanely flavourful everything was amazing ! You can tell the owners are devoted to offering the best experience and the freshest spices/herbs in each tea you sip. My favourite was the Chai Karak it was just delicious can't explain ... I'll try lol: It was super frothy wow and super spicy but sweet as well it was an amazing fresh taste It was like drinking liquid gold .. super addicting I could chug down at least 5 of them if there was any left!! Ahahaha The tropical raindrop for me was a close second very sweet and berry flavoured ! I really enjoyed it ! In addition, I purchase the Amber spice on the secret menu it had salted caramel with Matcha Woow it was delicious definitely worth it Price was : super reasonable for what you get and how nothing is in tea bags ... you get your tea served freshly !! The Treats were deeellishhh I enjoyed the creamy savoury sweet paratha.. the bread texture was soft and crispy and paired super well with my teas mmm The decor was exquisite ! I really loved their menu everything is super self explanatory.. there was green , black , chai, tisanes and oolong teas you have the option to get them hot or cold as well super interesting its like a starbucks but for Tea ! I was fortunate to be invited to this hidden gem. I thought I knew a lot about teas until this great event. The owners gave a great crash course on the teas and then we were lucky enough to try some with some desert parings. Their of knowledge teas was very educationional. First off parking was a bit hard to find but there is public transportation. The store is like the Starbucks of teas. They do not use tea bags as they blend the spices and use a method to extract the flavours There are so many tea combinations to try I will highlight my favorite which was the Chai karak. This was probably the best chai tea or tea I have had. I could taste a bit of gingerbread and pumpkin spice with hints of vanilla. This is likely due to the presence of cardamom. Great variety of fresh and tasty tea blends. Certainly a good middle option between tea from a tea bag and a coffee drink with all the works. Not too much sugar or milk. Lovely fresh homemade cookies to boot. Clean shop, friendly staff who can give you recommendations and make it in front of you. Went there twice in three days while passing through.
