Great plant-based burger and fries. They use Beyond, which I prefer over Impossible. Reasonably priced. Soft-serve oat-milk based. Take-out or eat in the Whole Foods. Fast-casual style. Order and then get a pager when it is ready. Took less than 5 minutes with a bunch of people in front me. I thought that was pretty good for cooking to order. This opened recently and even though it's a good 30 min drive for me was there on my bucket list. Finally last Sunday my son and I drove to this place which is inside a Whole Foods store. Parking is a bit of a hassle. The store parking is almost always full. However there is free (on the weekends) parking garage close by. It's a pretty futuristic garage with indicators as to which floor has availability spots. They have sensors on each spot which feed into the central console. Pretty cool. Does not seem to be fully accurate though since while going to the 4th floor which it said was the first level with spots available I noticed many open spots on the third floor. Well back to PLNT. The place is great! It has a small and simple menu. Burger, fries, drinks and soft ice cream They order up quickly and give you a device that lights up and vibrates when the order is ready. The service is quite prompt. The burger which I believe is Beyond Meat was great. It's about half the price of the ones in Founding Fathers and a lot more tastier. The cheese is vegan but hard to tell the difference. The buns are a bit small for the size of the patties, especially if you ordered the double cheeseburger. But I am not complaining! The honest drink has free refills and a nice soothing taste. Much better than the sodas. All in all I highly recommend this place. Hope they open in the Gaithersburg area soon. read more

Located inside Whole Foods in downtown Silver Spring (near the CVS) - I love PLNT burger and everything it stands for! I wish I still worked in downtown Silver Spring cause this would've been my go-to lunch spot! Amazing that their items taste like real meat, but it's NOT. Their PLNT burgers taste like real burgers - if you think it would be tasteless, you are wrong. It is filling and affordable for the vegan-type food price. They also have sweet potato fries that are delicious and not overly powerful and a soft-serve with OAT milk! Overall very good! The bacon mushroom BBQ burger had excellent flavor. The bacon bits were surprisingly crispy. This burger could have benefitted from a little extra crunch -- like onion strings; most of it was mushy in texture. The chicken burger was less flavorful but had excellent texture. The chicken burger actually tore apart like a cooked chicken breast would. Both burgers -- not double size -- were substantial; see pictures for how thick they were! Not sure if it's planet or plant burger but it's a cool abbreviation if intended to be both. They have wonderful burgers even though they're using beyondmeat patties like everybody else even burgerking. What makes them different is that they have great fries, chili, and toppings like mushroom bacon. I haven't had any issues with the food but the only problem I've had is a long wait for delivery. I don't blame grubhub, yelp, or plnt burger since delivery is a new thing for most restaurants to survive. It's also difficult finding parking on weekends and can get busy where you have to wait outside since it's inside a wholefoods. Easiest solution is to plan for it so I can walk in, grab my food, and eat outside by the civic building. As for parking, try by the library or across from cava further down. Plenty of parking there, just not by the whole foods. read more

Being vegan it can be hard for me to find restaurants I can eat at and that my non-vegan family members and friends are willing to try. On top of that I miss some of the classic American meals I had before going vegan--burgers, fries, and shakes. As soon as I found out about PLNT Burger and visited I dove right in by ordering their PLNT Cheeseburger, Wavy Sweet Potato Fries, and Chocolate Oatasty Shake. It was all gone within 15 minutes of receiving my order. My only regret is the brain freeze I suffered when consuming my shake too fast. Speaking of fast, their service was very fast (~10 minutes from order to completion) and similar to another reviewer I was able to do some shopping while I waited since they are located right inside a Whole Foods and provided a buzzer to notify me when my order was ready. As much as I like to pick up my own ingredients and cook it's nice to have the convenience of picking up a great meal that happens to be vegan. I will definitely be returning and recommend others to give PLNT Burger a try. read more

Yum! The PLNT burger and PLNT mushroom BBQ burger are great, but it's the crispy chik'n funguy sandwich that's the real standout for me. Very unique and satisfies the chicken sandwich itch. I love any fast food restaurant that serves ALL vegan foods!! PLNT burger is located inside of Whole Foods right next to the area you can purchase coffee and smoothies from. Amazing burgers that contain vegan cheese and even tempeh bacon! I purchased the PLNT mushroom bacon bbq burger with crispy herbed fries that were seasoned perfectly! The strawberry oatasty shake was very refreshing. I definitely give the food a 5/5. I give PLNT burger a 4/5 stars because of the limited seating and parking in the area. I went on a Sunday afternoon after the rush hour, and there was barely any seating. The seating is shared with Whole Foods customers. I hope they will open up other areas in Maryland that are more accessible than Downtown Silver Spring. read more

I was curious to see if these new vegan meat patties tasted like the real thing and...surprise...they don't. The veggie patties are actually kind've flavorless and have a really poor texture that easily crumbles and falls apart. I guess the closest comparison would be to a McDonalds patty, which also doesn't taste so much like beef as they do some sort of industrially created beef-like thing. Honestly, Plnt burgers are also kind've a mess to eat because the fake cheese tends to turn into slime which, along with the crumbly burger, makes everything between the buns want to slide out and fall apart. Even when judging these things on their own, as opposed to comparing them to a real burger, they just aren't that great. It's a one-star burger but I'll bump it up to two because the buns really are pretty solid and the sweet potato fries and dipping sauces were good. read more

What is not to like about PLNT Burger.? When you first see the menu, you wonder if anything has animal products. The options, so many options. I have tried almost everything. My favorite, the PLNT mushroom bacon burger..... it's delicious!!!! Fries and a berry patch drink and you're set. The shakes, I can't even describe the goodness in them. I wait every 1st of the month to see what shake is coming. My favorite, the sunflower and jelly, I got it all month till the next shake came out. There's always something new on the menu and some are seasonal. PLNT burger definitely knows how to keep you on your toes. The Baja burger with Guacamole, it was a favorite of mine. You will find something that you will absolutely love in the menu. I have taken friends and family who questioned my vegan ways & let me just say, they don't question anything anymore and actually visit this location a couple of times a month. I heard good things about this place and decided order for take out! As you may have guessed, most of the items on the menu are animal free and vegan. I ordered the PLNT cheeseburger and sweet potato fries. I understand the patty in the burger is made by Beyond Meat, which has increased is market share in the last year. My first impression was that the burger tasted actually very good which was topped off with some lettuce, tomatoes and american cheese (I dont believe the american cheese was vegan). I have to admit though that I did taste a little difference between the PLNT cheeseburger and a regular cheeseburger, especially when it came to the texture of the meat. Overall I understand the goal of going to a PLNT based diet, and wouldn't mind implementing it into my diet 1-2 a week going forward. I would recommend everyone to try this place out and see for yourself what a plant based meat tastes like. You can order via postmates online, and every item has an image of the food item. Vegan Street food eating at its best! I went to PLNT Burger with high expectations. Spike Mendelsohn makes the best beef burger pound for pound in its weight class and price point in the city. So I know he wouldn't get involved with a company just because it offered a vegan option. The man has standards. I've also frequented his Italian restaurant on 6th Street downtown. So when I went to this vegan place I ordered the works. I had the double patty mushroom bacon burger. I also ordered the sweet potato fries. I got my dad the strawberry old milkshake. The food did take a little while to prepare but I don't like to rush perfection. So to kill the time I decided to do a little food shopping in Whole Foods. I'm so glad I decided to live in Silver Spring. It really has so many of delicious options. Anyway, I was sincerely surprised I had actually went to the website to see if this really was not a beef burger. I was truly fooled It really had the mouth feel and chew of real beef.
