I've been using PLS this exact location from time to time to cash checks. Today I went in to cash a personal check. Some guy named Geyer was helping me. I provide him the number to verify the check and no answer. So I leave and come back to let my dad know they're calling him to verify the check because he was sleeping. This time I'm being helped by the supervisor or manager forgot his name some guy with a lot of grey hair. He's doing all the typing and then he tells me he can't cash it because the address on the check and my address are the same. Now I wouldn't be upset or frustrated if I was told this the FIRST TIME I went there !!!! This really is terrible customer service and your agents need better training !!!! read more

On April 13th 2024, I received a check that came out of nowhere. So I decided to go to a local cash checking place to see if the check is legit. Once I arrived at the window I told them what happened and they told me straightforward that it wasn't good. They told me where's the paperwork or what's it's for. I told them I don't know I had enough scams and I hear laughter around me. 2 years of them giving services to me, I would like to say that on that day these actions happen stupidity, unsupportive, bad-encouragement, attitude, and embarrassment. Walked in around 5:25 am on 9/24/18 for notary services and the female (kathy I believe her name is) clerk didn't even know what I asking for. I had to point it out on the list of services for her to see that they offer it. She then replied "have you gotten it here before because I don't know what that is". Please educate your customer service staff members on all of the services your company offers and hours of operation. This is just horrible! read more

Pls rocks. Always walk out with a fist full of cash. Plus they have 24hr locations so ... if for whatever reason you need to cash a check at someplace other then a big bank, then you should be going to PLS. And for all the people wondering why anyone would choose to pay for cashing a check ... you all pay for a big box bank to handle your money anyway. No difference here. And PLS fees are low. Probably cheaper then a big bank would be. read more

They have excellent customer service. In my experience they went above and beyond to help me on cashing my check after the company i work for was close and they were not able to verify the check. Yesterday I went to the PLS Check Cashing in the city of Lawndale..on the corner of Prairie and Marine. Keep in mind that I am a regular customer who has been a customer before the name on the building was changed to PLS. I cash my payroll check at this location weekly so I was fond and familiar with everyone there. I called ahead to find out what they would charge to cash my Federal Tax Return. I was told 3percent and went into the store. I was assisted by the site manager Sai ,someone who has assisted me on many occasions and always engaged me in small talk. I explained why I was there and the phone call quoting 3percent. Sai was rude like I had never experienced. She as much as called me a liar. I reminded her that I was a regular and I recognized the voice who quoted me the 3percent as I am familiar with eveyone there . Im there ALL the time. After supposedly making a phone call she decided that she would "do me a favor", and honor the percentage that I was quoted. Gee thanks! With the worse attitude ever she cashed the check and tried to cheat me out of $40.00 I corrected her calculation which really made her mad because she was busted. She looked at the coworker next to her as if to say damn she caught me. I left pissed vowing never to return but that would be to easy.....My advice BE AWARE...DO THE MATH...COUNT YOUR CHANGE....DON'T TRUST THEM TO DO WHAT'S RIGHT... read more
