I love coming into this store. It's super cute. Has something for almost everyone. They have women's clothing, jewelry, Ventura clothes and accessories, home items, baby/kid items. Anytime I am walking downtown I always stop by. I love seeing what new items they have for kids. Almost every time my husband and I find something new for our little one. The workers there are always really friendly and helpful.

What a fun place to shop for last minute Christmas gifts on Christmas Eve. The staff was friendly and accommodating, answering all our questions. My niece purchased a few items and so did I. I feel in love with the gnome and mushroom ornaments. I could have spent a lot more, but I practiced restraint. I how everything was artfully placed and displayed. By the way, I loved my cashier's SUGARPLUM FAIRIES sweatshirt!

My favorite store in downtown Ventura. Have never walked out empty handed. The staff is helpful and the merchandise is one of a kind.

Awesome place for gifts and knick knacks. Great place to find that gift when that person you're shopping for has everything.

I came here a couple months ago after getting a recommendation from the owner of a thrift store on Main. I met the owner, Donna, and she was the sweetest! As an avid beachcomber, I was thrilled to hear that she accepted sea glass as currency in her shop. My girls and I came in this past weekend for matching jewelry (it was their birthdays!). We fell in love with the Leyla ring. I can't stop looking at the iridescent abalone shell on mine! We also got adorable swell rings to stack on top and they match PERFECTLY! My best friend got a gorgeous blue two tone sea glass pendant necklace. For jewelry handmade in Bali with genuine hand-picked seaglass and quality metals, the prices were actually very reasonable! Our Sterling Silver Leylas were $24 each. The Swells were $19 each. The gold vermeil sea glass necklace was $62 for the pendant and $20 for the chain. We will definitely be back for more beach treasures!

Very expensive! Even a bit overpriced! $80 t shirts... and they have these cute lightweight sweaters that say "Beach" on them, priced at $90!! I bought almost the same one on Amazon for $30! Just saying... Sometimes they have some reasonable sale items, definitely worth checking out!

The clothing and style is very appropriate for the harbor type atmosphere. For the most part, the clothes are breathable, soft and nice fabrics/materials. I love the layout of the store. It's spacious here so it's easy to shop without bumping into people and plenty of room to look around. I also appreciate that they have nice fitting rooms here and they are comfortably sized so you can really try on the clothes and see it from every angle. I've bought a few tops here over the years. Today I got a cute long sleeve piece for under $70. The owner Elizabeth is very nice and helpful. I also appreciate that we could look around at our leisure. She told us about her second store on state st in SB so we'll definitely be checking them out. Prices are average but you get what you pay for and I've always felt that the materials are soft and nice quality. Very glad the harbor has this little gem of a clothing store to help balance out all of the more touristy stores.

However, my experience at checkout really changed the vibe. The sales associate was nice at first, but as I was paying, they started watching me very closely -- like I was doing something wrong -- and gave me a dirty look. It made me feel really uncomfortable and unwelcome. I'm all for good loss prevention, but there's a difference between doing your job and making a customer feel judged. It's disappointing because the store itself is worth visiting, but that kind of interaction leaves a bad impression.

Turns out it's a really terrific discount store. But you would never guess if you were just driving by. My first guess was that they sold Navy Surplus items. My wife guessed that they sold sports equipment. Since we had no use for either naval surplus or sports equipment we regularly drove right by the store, never bothering to go inside. Five Below is in the same shopping center as Sprouts, Kohl's, Michael's, Urbane Cafe, and Pho Gyu. So I drive by this place nearly every week. I might never have bothered to even check it out if I hadn't seen a photo on Yelp a few weeks ago. I have never seen any advertisements or ever heard anyone talking about the place. So glad I finally investigated, because this is my kind of store! Everything is $5 or less. (Wouldn't a much more sensible name be $5 and Below? In my estimation, "Five Below" is a monumentally stupid name. Even "Below Five" makes more sense). What this place reminds me of is what the 99 cent store could have been if, years ago, they just sucked it up and incrementally raised their prices instead of continually lowering the quality of the products they sold. That was a huge mistake for the 99 cent chain. Now most of their merchandise is totally crap, and along the way they were eventually forced to abandon their 99 cent price ceiling anyway. Maybe Five Below doesn't have the broad range of products that 99 cent stores stock, but what Five Below sells is of far superior quality. On my first visit I was blown away by the Toy department. Aisles and aisles of fun stuff, all under $5. (OK, mostly under $5. Their logo says $1 to $5 & Beyond) If you want party favor toys for a kid's party, this is definitely the place to hit up. But it's not all little kid stuff in the Toy department. There are Trivia games and toys that appeal to all ages. Even more impressive than the Toy department is the Candy Department. This is my new Candy HQ. Wow, what a great assortment of candy! I'm talking about brand name candies, like M&Ms, Butterfinger, Junior Mints, Haribo, Bazooka Gum, Bit O Honey, etc etc. There's a wide variety of what was once called "penny candy." Prices starting at ten cents. Such a fun store! They sell other things besides candy and toys, of course. I noticed there's a department that sells phone accessories. What else, I don't know. And to tell you the truth, I may never know. I'm happy in the front of the store with the toys and candy, What goes on in the back of the store is none of my business. Mikey C says: shiver me timbers, I'm a sailin' away.
