I was in the area and needed a quick drink and possibly a bite to eat. I saw this newly opened Plum Market, so I decided to check it out. As I was walking around, I remembered that I had previously visited their first Florida location on the border of Aventura and North Miami Beach. This market was founded in 2006 by brothers Matthew and Marc Jonna, third-generation grocers who first opened Merchant of Vino, which expanded to eight stores before being acquired by Whole Foods. The brothers later worked at Whole Foods before leaving to open their own specialty market featuring natural, organic, and locally crafted items. Matthew Jonna describes his store as "like Whole Foods, but better." Based out of Detroit, they now operate more than 25 locations across the U.S., with plans to open more stores like this one in Palm Beach Gardens. The market is set up with sections for produce, groceries, apothecary items, all-natural and sustainably sourced meats and seafood, sushi, wine that can be shipped through their service, caviar, locally sourced baked goods and chocolates, and prepared foods. The store features more than 100 local brands, including McGregor's Greens, Barbacuban, The Empanada Girl, Sullivan Street Bakery, Mother Kombucha, Ella's Flats, Laura's Gourmet Granola, Cigar City, Fullei Fresh, Wish Farms, Funky Buddha Brewery, and Florida-based chocolatier Norman Love Confections & Baked Goods. Plum Market also offers a catering service that can provide hot meals, hors d'oeuvres, sandwiches, charcuterie boards, and artisanal cakes. The store has an international section, and they are kosher and diet friendly. While I like how the store is set up and how clean and well presented everything is, what was not so impressive were the prices. I was quickly reminded that they are very expensive. This chain of stores is aiming for the well-to-do market, with prices even higher than Whole Foods. If cost is not an issue, this is a great store to find one of a kind items that can jazz up your mealtime routine and give you that farmers market vibe. They can also be a lifeline when looking for hard to source products. Just expect to pay a lot for it.

They have a wide selection of specialty items, Organics, flowers, fresh pressed jucies, flowers, prepared foods, bakery. They do have a rewards account to clip coupons and specialty offers. Nice ideas for gifts and home as well.

I was invited to their soft opening so I got to experience the store first before every person and it was nice to have a close to empty store to explore. I will say the prices for basic grocery staples is significantly expensive and more expensive than any other market in the area. I do find they do have many healthy food options but with Whole Foods less than 5 minutes away then I rather go there. The staff was super friendly and I enjoyed all the free samples I got to partake in.

I've been a big fan of this store since it opened. Yes, it can be pricey, but if you download their app, they usually have discounts and coupon offers which can make things more affordable. Keep an eye out for their buy one get one free specials. Their seeded crackers are delicious. The sea salt ones are my favorite, and they have been buy one get one free the last few times I went. They had a $5 off coupon on their rotisserie chicken. It was decent sized, and cooked to perfection. Seasoned well, but not spicy, and not dry. Their little slider sandwiches are small and reasonably priced. The pumpernickel loaf is my favorite bread. Their fruits and vegetables look so appealing, and so far all the ones I have got have been fresh and flavorful. They even carry Sees chocolates. They are very pricey, but an indulgent treat, as you can't normally get them in Florida. I've had a few of the prepared cupcakes, and they have all been good - not overly sweet, and not dry. Their carmelized onion dip was addicting good (paired with ridged potato chips). You definitely have to watch your budget when you shop, but the coupons and discounts help, and the taste and quality make it a worthwhile splurge. Staff is friendly, and the store is clean, bright, and inviting. Will definitely keep coming back (especially when they have good coupons and specials).

Palm Beach Gardens finally has a grocery store worth getting excited about. Plum Market's instantly become my go-to. The staff alone sets it apart. Genuinely warm, sharp on product knowledge, and happy to talk you through what's good. You can tell they care about what they're selling. The wine department is something else. They've got your reliable weeknight picks sitting next to bottles like Louis Jadot Chassagne-Montrachet, and everything in between. I've never seen that kind of depth in a grocery store. I picked up the sesame-seared tuna and poached salmon from prepared foods and both were outstanding. The salmon was perfectly fresh, expertly cooked. The tuna was honestly some of the best I've had anywhere, not just "good for a grocery store." Their prepared foods section alone is worth the trip. It's also just a fun place to shop. Hard to explain until you go, but you'll linger. You'll see what I mean. So glad they're here.

Absolutely beautiful store! Great selection of vegan products at not too bad of a price. Definitely more expensive than Sprouts but many niche items you cannot find at other grocers. Treena the florist has some lovely arrangements, as well. Cashier Christina was very friendly and I loved the earth day bag! Did not purchase much this time however will definitely stop by again

These are people who actually enjoy being there and it shows. They go out of their way to help without being asked, and that never gets old. The meat section in particular has really leveled up over the last couple of years. Australian pasture raised ground lamb and shaved lamb shoulder have become regular purchases in our household, and the Angus brisket burgers at $11.99 are an absolute steal. Yes, the $9.99 price tag from 2 years ago was even better, but at today's price they are still among the best value burgers you will find anywhere. The frozen fish selection could use a little work and that is probably the one area with room to grow. But honestly that is a minor footnote in an otherwise excellent store. One thing that does get under my skin is the sheer volume of snacks, candies, chocolates, and packaged goodies that people have somehow normalized as everyday eating. More frustrating is how heavily seed oils show up throughout the store. They carry exactly one potato chip cooked in olive oil. Nearly everything else defaults to seed oils. Frozen processed items, salad dressings, EVERY condiment, EVERY premade item, prepared shawarma, seasoned chickens, marinated meats, even some of the frozen fish options contain them. Trader Joe's has the customer base and the brand credibility to do better here, and I hope they eventually will. We are loyal regulars and have zero plans to change that. If you are in Palm Beach Gardens and have not made this your home base for groceries, you are missing out.

Dear foodtown/mangotree,…read more I am writing to share several serious concerns regarding my experiences shopping at your locations, specifically the stores in Hollywood (off Sterling Road) and on Military Trail. Overall, my interactions with the staff and management have been deeply disappointing due to widespread unprofessionalism and poor customer service. Key issues include: - Customer Service & Phone Etiquette: When calling to check on orders, I have repeatedly been placed on hold indefinitely, hung up on, and even mocked when calling back. - Staff Assistance: Staff members have been openly dismissive and unhelpful when asked for assistance finding items in the store. - Management Conduct: I have witnessed store managers behaving aggressively, speaking disrespectfully to customers, and refusing to resolve complaints professionally. - Food Safety Standards: When I voiced concern to an employee about raw fish being left out in a cardboard box without ice, my concern was dismissed and laughed off. While a select few employees have been helpful, the vast majority of my experiences have been overwhelmingly negative. Given these ongoing issues with store management, staff training, and health standards, I hope these matters are addressed immediately to improve the overall quality and safety of your operations - but I honestly doubt you will do anything except perhaps change your name again to attempt to hide from the overwhelming complaints you received in the past being foodtown. Good News for the community is that H-Mart a honest to goodness real asian super market is opening up in West Palm on military trail and will be putting you out of business in short order. Or support the smaller mom and pop asian markets who actually care to have us as customers. Sincerely, Puddy Tat
