Everything you need in a Kosher supermarket.

It's hard to rate it too harshly since it's the only kosher grocery store in Michigan. That being said, it's not all bad. It's well designed, clean and a decent selection. The prices are not great but not awful either. The bakery is great with reasonable prices and the pizza is also solid with good prices. The meat and fish and veggies are a bit pricey and not always the freshest but usually okay. The employees are nice but not trained well at all. They also have a lot of turnover. Been abstaining from leaving a review for yeats, but enough is ENOUGH! Most - as in a rarity if any - items do not have price stickers. The scant shelf price tags are nowhere near the correct items, and I have found may to be outdated, id eber accurate at all. This meams, a shopper has no idea what things cost until checking out. Yes,there are two scanners on the sales floor, but not connected to the network and tbus are of no help. During check-out is the time where we find ma y utems are over double (I've seen 3x) the cost in a regular supermarket. By then, it seems just too late. The hours are short - tried to order a pizza, great pizza btw - but no orders taken after 5PM on a Sunday!! Who wants pizza on a Sunday night anyway?? Buying any dairy? Once you see how long they let pallets of refrigerated items sit out in the parking lot unattended, you will realize why consuming anything, especially cheese, is like Russian Roulette at your table. It's not a matterof if something is spoiled way too early, but when you will be the lucky mold-chewer. And when it comes time to return overly high-priced spolied stinky food, you will be treated as evil and a hindrance. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME, MONEY, OR SELF-RESPECT! read more

We shop there often for their great selection of Kosher food. The Jewish spirit in it very comforting. Their prepared foods are wonderful. It is comforting that everything is Kosher. Occasionally Jewish music is played which creates wonderful ambiance. Their service is wonderful. read more

This is a Kosher Market, and caters to more of the Kosher crowd located in the area. I know they have other locations across the country (not many, but enough) and I heard about it through a friend. Granted, I don't keep Kosher, but I do like specialty items that they carry that are hard to find elsewhere. Walking through the store is fun, as I can find most of what I need. Things like Gefilte Fish, chopped liver, Challah for Shabbos and so much more. This is important to me as they're all dishes that I love eating and don't have the time or interest in making myself. The prices are on the higher end, but not unaffordable. They also have a great meat counter along with Kosher wines and other items. While everything wasn't fully stocked, it was a great store to check out. I picked up a few items and will go back to grab some Challah around the holidays or when needed as it's really good from here compared to other stores. Staff's helpful and even though it's not the end all be all for stores, I do enjoy coming here for custom items. I'll be back in the future for more as needed. read more

This is a decent small grocery store you can easily run in and out of, but it's not the highest quality stuff and the prices are high. Honestly, it doesn't smell the best in here, and that's a major turn off at a grocery store. I wouldn't rush back here, I'd rather go to Plum Hollow for a small market. Better meat selection and prices are more fair. I was in the area on the way home though, so it was easy to stop. Ok if you need a few things. read more

Very good inventory, especially Passover items, but nasty staff. I'll probably avoid the Grove in future.

I've been going to the supermarket at least four or five years. The people look at me, but they never interact.. The meat is of the best quality , I interact with the sushi chef who informed me that I cannot purchase sushi and quantities of 2 which I did a month ago. I will not purchase any more sushi from there it was the way he said it.Do better groves read more

I have been a customer since it opened all the staff is wonderful, the weed is always fire and the sales is the best

We found everything we needed for our Pesach festivities. Store was well stocked, clean and staff was personable. It's a 2-1/2 hour drive for us, but well worth the trip. Plus it's right across the street from Borenstein's Book Store and the Star Deli was close enough -- all making for a super little day trip! read more

This is not a quick in and out market. you are almost guaranteed to wait forever in line to pay for your items. that's enough of a deterrent to go somewhere else unless I absolutely need the grove. what a stupid name, the grove. we are just a bunch of cows grazing in the grove. And overpriced it is. read more

I love this store. It's very clean, produce always fresh, bakery has fresh bread and pastries. Store recently remodeled and everything is in order and very easy to find. Staff is very friendly. Strongly recommend to check it out and see it for yourself. read more

The store is clean and well organized. The people who work there are friendly and helpful; management is top notch. It's a hidden gem, on par with Whole Foods, yet much better prices. I'd happily shop there even if I didn't keep kosher. read more

Some of my family is very loyal to this grocery store, which occupies the hollows of a former Hillers. I've long been hearing about weekly trips to One Stop Kosher, but hadn't been, until I was invited to tag along. There is something very wrong with the layout. It feels like there is so much empty space around you, in a very eery, kosher way. And the produce. Yikes. Expensive and so sad looking. There are some who swear by the meat department as fresher/cleaner than the Harvard Row butcher - I think this is preposterous! The prepared food section was not only unappetizing-appearing, but the guy behind the counter was hacking his lungs as he was filling orders. Not cool. Since it is a small, independent grocer, there is an understandable markup on frozen and convenience foods. I don't have any qualms about that. But, watching all of the old people schlep around for subpar apples and oranges, and spend their tight budgets on coughed-on chicken salad, is upsetting to me. If you REALLY need kosher frozen meals, fine. But go elsewhere for your produce and everything else! read more

The place has everything, a bakery, butchery and some prepared food. I especially like that they have a nice selection of kosher luncheon meats like pastrami, roast beef and franks. My partner likes the spinach knishes they have. The rye bread is fresh and really really good, and on Fridays they have challah biscuits which are fun. Excellent frozen section and they have hot roasted chicken that is great to pick up if I am running too late to make dinner. And lots of frozen food. They also have many different newspapers some in English, some in Hebrew. I don't drink, but there is a rather large wine selection. It is the only place to get kosher for passover items that i have found (that aren't found in the bread aisle in other supermarkets). I agree with Haroun K about the produce, which is mediocre and expensive. I have not seen the Aaron's brand chicken there, only the store brand, which is pretty fatty and occasionally still has feathers. I haven't been very inspired by the meat section either. read more

Excellent service amazing food beautiful space new newly renovated all new fresh produce and kosher foods.

This place really lives up to its name as being a "one-stop" kosher shop. It has a fairly nice wine selection, if that's your thing. The isles are narrow, however, so there are frequent traffic jams. Every time I've been in there, I've been able to find what I've been looking for. They are a little pricey, especially their meats. My only real complaints is that the floors look like they haven't been swept or mopped in 3 years and it's always a bit hard to find an employee who is ready to answer your questions. With that said, One Stop is an essential market for being Jewish in Detroit. read more
