Half anchovies and mushroom half plain
    Kyle C.

I stumbled back across this hidden gem last week. My mother just moved down the road and I have been here several times YEARS ago but decided to call due to a place up the block being way to long of a wait. Pizza used to be hard to mess up but the completion grew and only the strong get a 5 star rating. This pizza was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The crust blistered with back burnt marks marbled through out which makes it that much better. Thin crust and they DONT skimp in the cheese!! I will definitely be back. The staff was friendly and seemed family run. Anchovies and mushroom made my night!! I will be back and recommend this spot.

Awful customer service and pizza was cold when we got home. Cheese is too oily, the sauce is generic, and it just tastes really cheap.

And surprisingly, this happened to be a very well known restaurant as our other coworkers knew about it! It's located across of CubaNu Restaurant & Lounge on the corner of Lewis St and Main St in downtown Rahway. There's paid street parking and parking garages around the area. My coworker and I shared their Calamari Al Forno, tossed with Italian sausage, hot cherry pepper, and balsamic glaze. And wow. Who would have thought balsamic glaze with calamari would be sooooo good! I'll definitely be ordering that combination again. The mix with the Italian sausage and cherry peppers added a nice kick to the dish. Both of us could not stop eating it even though we wanted to save room for our pastas. Our meal was off to a great start! I ordered their Linguini de Mar which was supposed to have four seafoods: shrimp, calamari, mussels, and clams. Unfortunately, mine was missing the calamari. However, the pasta was incredibly flavorful and the seafood was cooked perfectly - not overdone or underdone at all. YUM! My coworker got their Cheese Ravioli with the Bolognese sauce (unsure if it was extra as I didn't see the check). She loved her pasta as well! She's usually a light eater, but she devoured half the calamari appetizer and all of her pasta, which speaks volumes about how much she enjoyed the meal. I felt that the one downside was the unusual amount of water I drank (maybe ten cups?). This was my own personal indicator that there was definitely some sort of flavor enhancer which wasn't a negative thing. I'm not certain, but the food was very good, so kudos to them if that's the case. Overall, definitely a hidden gem! We unfortunately didn't try their pizzas/pies but this will definitely be on my list again the next time I visit. Or I may opt in for another round of calamari al forno and pasta again, haha!

Cleanliness: The restaurant was clean and organized with very few customers at the time. The staff: They did not greet us when we walked in and just looked at us. We told them that we had a reservation, and they sat us at our table. The staff was friendly and helpful during our time at the restaurant. Free bread: The bread was hard on the outside, but it was soft on the inside. The bread was a little bland even with the butter that they had provided to us. Mozzarella & Corozza: The bread had a little crunch to it and the cheese was melted to perfection but lacked taste. It tasted well with the marinara sauce and was something different to try. Jalapeno Poppers: The outside layer of the jalapeno popper was crunchy. The inside of the poppers was filled with cheese. The jalapeno poppers were not spicy at all. The sauce that came with this appetizer was ok. Garden Salad/Caesar Salad: The side salad was fresh and tasted good with the dressing that came with it. Chicken Parmigiana w/ Linguini: They cooked the chicken to perfection, and they gave me two big pieces of chicken. I was shocked by the size of the chicken. The pasta sauce was delicious and was not sour. The linguini was al dente. Overall: The experience at this restaurant was not too bad. I would probably come back here only for some special occasion. The appetizers were good but some of the items needed a little more flavor. The entree was pretty good that we ordered. Maybe next time, we will try some new appetizers and different entrees.

We came on Valentine's Day for an early 6 PM dinner and were seated right away, which we appreciated. Then we sat for about 20 minutes before anyone even came by to take a drink order. When the waiter finally showed up, we just ordered everything at once to save time. We sat down at 6. Our appetizer didn't arrive until 6:45. Then our entrées didn't come out until 7:35. My wife ordered the surf and turf--filet mignon (medium) and a lobster tail. The filet was burnt to a crisp, look at the way they cut it to cook it, and the lobster tail was so dry and flavorless it was honestly shocking. Probably the worst lobster I've ever tasted. I ordered the stuffed filet of sole, and it was so dry I had to peel off the top layer just to get to the stuffing--which, by the way, tasted spoiled. Overall, the food was a complete disappointment, especially for a place that looks so nice.
