Played at Plumas Pines for the first time a few weeks ago. Went with a group of 8 and split the group into two tee times. The course was pristine and the spacing between groups was sufficient. The course was a good challenge and emphasized accurate tee shots. Very beautiful course and was glad to have played it. Also, be sure to check out the driving range before you head to the first tee. The vibe there is amazing. With their Hotshots, golf range it brings a very fun and casual atmosphere. The course is in spectacular condition. Holes are well laid out and challenging. The natural mountain contours are accentuated by the routing of this beautiful track. Definitely a must play. read more

Purchased a tee time for $56/person on Golf Now got deals. Started at 2:10pm. The course has a beautiful setting. The holes are short and narrow, especially on the front nine. Front nine goes out through the valley and around some ponds and houses. The back nine is through the trees and more houses. The fairways and greens were in good shape. However, I did not think this course compares to Grizzly Ranch. It did bother me a little that they made us bring in our carts at 6:15 even though there was enough light for us to finish our last two holes. Also, the group in front of us showed up late, had to wait for carts, and spent ten minutes on the warm up green after being called to the tee box. The pace of play was pretty slow all day. read more

While on vacation, we scheduled a couple lessons for our energetic 5 year old. He had no prior experience, but a whole bunch of excitement for golf. Our expectations were exceeded with the pro, Brandon. Not only was he extremely patient, he was able to help our son with technique while controlling his enthusiasm. Our son can't wait to keep practicing at home and we look forward to more lessons with Brandon next time we visit. read more

This was our second golf course stop of the day in this area. Golf seems to be a big thing in this area, but not the high society set, like in the big cities or Vegas. Condo's and houses are available to rent or buy right next to this course. The greens seem well kept and the clientele genteel and courteous. There's a restaurant on site as well as a snack bar for burgers and hot dogs. Parking is no problem at all. I'd return here for sure. read more

Challenging course if you have Never played it! Local knowledge helps! Almost every Par 4 & 5 are Dog Legs. Water comes into play on many holes! Course is in terrific condition. I take the Vacaville High Golf team there ever May to kick the season off. No matter who you are, you will alway be welcomed with a smile and red carpet at Plumas Pines. I'm normally not one to bad mouth a course. However, I feel it's necessary to enlighten the public to the "New Policy" being forced upon golfers at Plumas Pines GC, Graeagle. After purchasing a first available twilight 3:10pm tee time (over the phone not online), I was told at check-in to be done by & off the course by 6:45pm. I asked what is expected time of play/pace of play of the course and told 4hr & 30min. See a bit odd to me that twilight rates start at 3pm to play the is 4hr & 30min but now you expect all late afternoon golfers to be done in 3hr & 30min. Standing in the middle of 17th fairway the Marshall tells my entire foursome we need to pickup and return the carts to club house. Needless to say that request did go over well. We did not follow those instructions and finished out. We finished our round in 3hr & 50min (under expected time/pace of play & through an after rain storm). After speaking with the "New" owners of the course she doubled down with NO apology (horrible customer service) and said she wants to home by 7pm. She then tripled down and said she doesn't care if golfers do not get a full 18 holes and will not discount her rates ($75 for twilight) anymore. After playing over 150 rounds of golf at this course I will mo longer be taking friends and family back there ever again. Just got home to Reno, after playing all 18 there. It was absolutely beautiful and well worth the cost and drive. Right away we were greeted by friendly staff. The man at the pro shop was super friendly and helpful and the lady working in the snack shop was very friendly right when we walked in. The man who is waiting by the first Tee was extremely helpful, especially since we had never played the course before. I'm very new to the game and it was definitely challenging, but we both had a great time and I can say I think playing that is going to make me look a lot better on my own local courses. 5 stars for all of it, and I'll definitely be back. read more

This place is very beautiful. I would love to play it again. It is a challenging course with many hazards...so look out for them. The fairways are somewhat skinny and you need to be pretty accurate to score well. The greens are nice. read more

Not too many courses get a 5 star review but this place is hands down the best golf facility around. From snack bar, pro shop and outside operations , everyone is super friendly and they make sure your golf experience is all that it can be. We go up there every year and when our trip is over , we're already trying to figure out when we can go the following year. Head pro Brandon is the best and I guess the staff follows his lead. read more

I've given this course four valiant attempts. This is not a course for anyone with an index higher than 25. Fairways are hideously narrow, cheap tricks are around every corner, and too many fairways are cart path only (with no good reason). Number 9 is a joke. Straight up hill walking with a fondue set of clubs hoping you have at least one that will work, while your cart mate keeps moving the cart up the path a few yards at a time hoping to hook up with you at some point near the green. Number 8 is not fun either. I gave it my best effort, but I'll never come back. There are other area courses that are designed to be more fair to the higher handicap players, like me. That said, Longboards Restaurant is great. read more

This is a great course that is always in good and very playable conditions. What really keeps my wife and I coming back are the people in the shop. Brandon, Tyler, Arvo and the rest of the staff are just amazing..You will not find a friendlier and more accommodating golf course staff than at Plumas Pines. After your round you can enjoy amazing food at Longboards. I have to disagree with a few of the posts on here with 2 or 3 stars given because the course was "too hard" ...that speaks to your ability ...not the course. And as far as the price and getting a better golf experience for the same money elsewhere in the area...I have to disagree..I've played all the other courses in the area...White Hawk, Grizzly, Nakoma (The Dragon) All very nice courses...but Plumas Pines has consistently had lower rates for great golf in a beautiful setting, with an outstanding staff.. Do yourself a favor and check this course out..have a nice meal or bite on the deck of Longboards after your round and enjoy the beautiful scenery. read more

Good course and friendly staff. course plays rather narrow from the back tees with water trees and condos on most holes. Practice facility is less than perfect with a practice green that every putt breaks 10feet and only mats to hit off of on the range. Longboards is a nice place to get a bite but doesn't open til later later in the day. Overall a decent course but for similar $ you can play 3 other area courses that are twice as good. ~M read more

I was in the area to celebrate the holiday with my family. The course is amazing. Well maintained and beautiful. The pine trees ane thick and brutal if you slice one. The greens were smooth and moist in the morning but firmed up by the end of the round. I played very well off the tees and in the fairway, but the short game could have been better. Although I did sink a running chip shot from about 60 feet on the 4th hole. The hamburger I ordered on the turn was awful. Half a hot dog bun with a roll of ground beef smaller than the bun. I enjoyed my time on the course and will return for sure. Prices are higher than some competing courses but I believe it may be worth the extra dough. read more

This is a spectacular golf course with a beautiful location among the pine trees!! Very challenging with lots of terrain changes and water. If you ever want to take lessons, the staff here is fantastic!! Their interest is in your enjoyment of golf!! read more
