Fabulous golf course with great greens! We really enjoyed our round! We will definitely be back!

Nice greens. Playable traditional golf course, designed in the 1920s. Very reasonable green fees. Our go-to course in the area.

Great course. Food is excellent. The women's locker room is in need of an update. The club doesn't cater to women. The showers are dirty, drains don't work with gross padding on the floor which was moldy. The soap and shampoo containers were not change in a while. You couldn't get the product out of the containers as they were hardened. Not sanitary. Too bad cause we came out to play and use the showers given our power was off. read more

Course was in good shape, the only nice person at this establishment was the morning Starter. Inside Help Sucked, very unfriendly, brought in 16 people and they just don't give a poop, I think they All need Zoloft read more

We had a really enjoyable round here. The course is fun and in pretty darn good shape. Staff was friendly and personable. $50 for 18 might be a little steep, but not too far off. Bonus that we got around in 3 hours on a Saturday morning (with a little help from the rain). We'll be back for sure! read more

The old man who answers the phone and the cart ranger are terribly rude, my boyf and I haven't had that bad of customer service in along time...they're miserable. I don't mind being at a boys club but the ranger even made constant comments to my boyf. saying "that's why I don't bring my wife, I'm sorry you had to bring yours"...It made him super uncomfortable.The course was 4 stars but there's a ton of nice courses in MI, we both agreed we wont return. If I could leave a 0/5 I would have. I was with 3 other women golfing 9 holes. Every employee I interacted with from booking the tee time on the phone to the ranger were disrespectful and rude. On the 9th hole the ranger drove by us and said "pick it up" did not say anything else but that. I will NEVER be golfing here again. Every worker I interacted with was incredibly rude. read more

I have spent thousands of dolors at this course over multiple seasons, leagues, etc... I wanted to get my wife more Involved in the sport so I proceeded to make a tee time for us later in the week. When we arrived, I paid and since my wife is new to the sport we were going to share my clubs before spending thousands of dollars on her own. The older starter gentlemen then proceeded to say we can't play due to her not having her own set of clubs and her not being a serious and experienced golfer. After this experience, I called other golf courses and this rule does not seem to be instated. Is this how you treat recurring customers? read more

To the idiots that left the negative reviews. It must be a competition thing. I've known Charlie and the family for almost 20 years. I have never ever heard Charlie act like that in the least bit. My friends and I have been golfing there for over 20 years. We will be golfing for the next 20 there. I do not believe the negative reviews below it sounds like a bunch of BS. The biggest joke of a golf course ever. At the turn the pro shop manager or worker let us buy food and drinks only to kick us off the course right after we walked outside because we had a truly in our cart that we had brought. This guy brings us inside and shows us something on the wall that you would have to look for to notice. Guy acts like we were shot gunning beers and ripping a bottle, we had a 7:20am tee time. Additionally there was no cart girl riding around on a Saturday. Smh we will never be returning, on top of it all this place doesn't even have glizzy's lol do not come here the course is just average. read more

The course is beautiful and well cared for. Its not very long. Not too many "avoid at all costs" hazards. Most holes are pretty straight. So its not the most challenging course. A little pricey but not outrageous. No sign. Hidden in the middle of suburbia. read more

Course is ok....staff (old man) is HORRIBLE! Had a 16 man outing on a sunday AM, 1 guy working the clubhouse/bar & was SLOOOOWWWWW!!! Then, the food selection was a tuna, turkey or ham sammich...and the only soda was a $2.00 vending machine outside (that wouldn't take bills). Classy! For a $43 course, this is absurd. read more

Teed off early on a Saturday morning, so the pace of play was quite good, finished in only about 3.5 hours. Very old course so it's easily walkable, though we had a cart. Seemed a bit pricey but I'm not used to playing in the greater Detroit area. Course was in reasonably good condition but it's obviously a well-used public course without any of the amenities found on more exclusive courses. Also fairly forgiving for the average golfer, though still offers some challenges so it's not at all boring. read more

We moved our entire league to Rambler. What a difference! Nice people, great professional service, and a nice course. Word is getting out. Plumbrooks parking lot barely 25% full and Ramblers was packed. Good bye Plumbrook!!!! read more

Plumbrook is a excellent course all round. Plumbrook gets a ton of traffic though... so it tends to be abuse at times and slow. Still i have nothing bad to say about the course itself at all but, some of the people that work here are rude and clueless. The people who take the calls can be very rude and disheartening. The starters can be great or terrible. Its not all bad when it comes to the people who works here... the "bar" gives out free cups of water (good water to me) I love that water! There twilight is awesome! $20 w/cart, all you can play. Seriously great greens, all year around. Food, drinks, hitting net (for practice), two great practice putting greens, and pull carts for rent. If your coming to Macomb County and want to golf this is a great choice!! read more

Don't join a womens league, they only cater to the men. May as well come and play twilight because we can never finish 9 holes. And the course doesn't care. And they want to charge more, and won't even give you twilight prices. read more

I've been playing at Plumbrook since I was 19 or so and if it wasn't me playing on the course, I was taking advantage of the practice greens on the front and the back. Plumbrook golf club has without a doubt the best, truest greens of all public courses in both Macomb and Oakland county hands down. I have to Thank Plumbrook for all of my putting and chipping success. read more

Just moved out to Sterling Heights over the summer and played here with a voucher from that groupgolfer website. Wasn't the most difficult course in the area but for my first time playing on the "East Side" it was pretty nice. I went a few more times after that initial round and each time the course was in good shape! read more

The course is in decent shape considering the dry start we have had. Greens are fast but manageable. The sand traps play nicely. The biggest thing is no beer cart girl on weekends and all the drinking fountains are broken on the course. Kind of stinks on a hot day and the course is playing long. There is a vending machine kind of hidden off hole 3 or 4 by the bathrooms you gotta look for it. All in all it's a good course to play little on the high side for fees for a course that lacks of amenities but the starter is really friendly along with the staff. Called day before got a tee time for 3:40 . got to course paid for 18 holes and was told we could only play 9 because they were closing early for Easter. Was not told this when tee time made and management was rude when talking about a discounted rate . I felt disrespected and ripped offed , and my 9 holes of golf was the worst I have played in years !!! read more

We went to Plumbrook Golf Course today (7-12-13) for an 18-hole round of golf. At the turn we went into the clubhouse for a beer. All was well until the bartender found out we were at the turn and told us rudely, "You can't sit in the bar if your at the turn. You have to go out on the course! Otherwise you'll lose your place". Then he proceeded to pour our drinks into plastic cups. It's not his business if we lose our place. My wife is diabetic and needs to eat regularly. He told us we can't have anything to eat unless we ordered it ahead. This was extremely rude! We golf at least once a week, sometimes two or three times, and at different courses most every time. This was our third time at Plumbrook this season, but it will definitely be the last! There was no need to speak to us in that manner. Perhaps the bartender could use a little training! read more

The course is decent and fun to play however the employees are rude and completely unorganized. We played 18 and at the turn it was a complete cluster. All we wanted to do was grab a few beers and dogs. Most courses have a stand with some basic food and beverage items so players can make a quick turn, not here. One group was penalized for stopping to eat and could not go out until everyone else tee'd off but everyone else behind them wanted to grab some quick food too so obviously there was a back up (mind you no one was stopping to sit down and eat except the group of 4 who was done and ready to tee but couldn't). They had one woman serving and one guy in the kitchen cooking who was too busy doing god knows what to actually fire our food or anyone elses which is what was causing the delay. I then proceeded to listen to whom was probably the pro dropping "F" bombs all over the place and call one customer a "fat ass" for stopping and getting a draft beer at the turn as well. He was so Irate at the 3 or 4 groups for the back up he came out, yelled at the kid working the turn and said start giving refunds if they can't tee off ASAP. Mind you this all would have been solved had they let the Penalized group freakin tee off who my group was technically behind and we were still waiting for our food. So all the employees are freaking out running around like chickens with their heads cut off, insulting clients etc. meanwhile all us paying customers are like WTF is going on, let these guys tee off and we're all good! Not one group was upset, everyone was grabbing a drink and using the rest rooms etc. Since the staff was completely unorganized, didn't have a snack cart they caused the issue and blamed paying customers for their own bs. It's sad because I like playing the course but will never go back again after this last experience. Get it together guys, total bush league bs. read more

Called this morning to set up a tee time. The kid that works there, dark hair, thinks he is gods gift to earth was very rude. I told him he was being rude, as all I was trying to do was set up a tee time. He then hung up on me!?!? I am trying to give this below average course business and the guy hangs up on me. Shows you what type of people are running this place. I will not be playing this course until there are new owners. They charge way to much for a short easy course, not to mention the geese s**t everywhere. I would not recommend this place to any friends. They always overbook, so if you are playing here on a weekend, make sure you give yourself 5-6 hours. They are all about making money, and don't care about their customers. I had a friend who was in a league here 4-5 years, they left this year due to the ownership of this place. Weren't accommodating and very unpleasant to work with. read more
