I was in Palm Desert from out of state and desperately needed a great low maintenance cut. I texted Patrick's number, and the assistant managed to work me into Patrick's schedule. (He currently works inside Roots and Mane, but you text his PM HAIR number.) I was thrilled with my cut, which looks good with little effort. Just what I wanted. Patrick was a good listener and a good explainer about my cut, which has body, movement, and style without heavy product use, a true achievement on my very fine thin hair. The salon was really pleasant, well lighted and clean, and everyone was friendly. (Only caveat: it's up a long flight of stairs.) All in all, my cut and blow dry was a fantastic experience. Desperate to not have to be in LA for a simple color/toner job, I searched for a local salon that had promising reviews and good photos to back up the reviews. I scheduled an appointment with Patrick for a toner and blowout, and worked with both Patrick and Olivia for the process. I had medium to caramel balayage throughout my hair that I wanted to keep but tone down (neutralize and prevent any muddiness). I also wanted to tone the existing balayage at the crown of my head to my natural dark brown color, as the lighter pieces were not complementing my complexion. So, Olivia toned the crown of my head to match my natural brunette color, while blending and preserving the existing balayage throughout. Patrick finished it up with a blowout using KM products. It is always scary to find a new hair salon when you move - but I have really been happy with Patrick since the first time that I went there 6 years ago. My color and highlights are always perfect, and my haircuts grow out so well that I don't have to have them as often, and have been able to grow my hair a bit longer. Highlights are tricky because they can really thrash your hair or have terrible lines at the roots or turn yellowish, but this happens to be one of Patrick's fortes. Check his instagrams for more examples - This photo was just a base (root) touch up he threw a few highlights on the top to blend in with the ones that I already had.
