My stylist: Lauren I was SO very lucky to get Lauren. I wasn't even trying to initially I had been targeting Patrick of PM Hair, who also works inside of Roots & Mane Hair Studio. Each stylist has their own business inside of this collective. Patrick had very good advertising of his haircuts and it looked exactly like what I was looking for, He was busy, I was a walk-in with no appointment and Lauren ...she is also back-to-back busy and she was able to take me in between other other appointments. SCORE! ! ! I was soooooo elated ! She understood what I wanted to have done to a "T". She also could sense that I was full of anxiety about this since I was coming from another place ( Florida ) whereby the stylist there had done a deep layered cut all over my head instead of a feather light layered cut so I was coming to the table with deep anxiety. Lauren put me at ease and her confidence is what I put my full faith & trust in. She understood everything immediately, and took me under her wing. She also has the cutest golden doodle and I had the opportunity of being able to hold her golden doodle during the appt which gave me a lot of comfort. I followed my hairstylist here after J. Russell Salon closed. Their signage on the balcony helped me find them as Monterey Avenue can get busy at times. I was worried about parking because it's not visible from the street, but once there I had no problem finding a spot. I was worried about nothing. Once I entered I was very impressed. It has an upscale, trendy look. There are numerous stylists there, and despite the music and people there, it's pleasant. You don't have to talk loud, you are attended to, and you are made to feel welcomed and comfortable. My hairstylist is outstanding. She could cut my hair in a basement and it would come out great. Yet, this place adds to the experience. I can mentally take a break from my work, relax, and take in an upscale setting with its comforts. Still, you don't feel out of place. The clientele are from all ages. I would recommend this business to others. From the certificates I saw there they definitely keep updated on hairstyles which is important. Had my hair done at Shaynice at this new salon in the desert. Amazing cut and color and Shaynice knocked it out of the park. From the moment I walked in, I was in awe of the beautiful decor of the salon and gorgeous picture window of the mountains in all direction. The salon had a big city vibe but was also super relaxing to sit and look at the gorgeous desert from the second floor. Had a wonderful spa like feel. I attempted to make an appointment at the salon as it was recommended by a friend of mine. I was very concerned about Covid protocols. When I asked the stylist on the phone if she was vaccinated she said yes. Upon pressing her as I have a compromised immune system she admitted she had lied and was not vaccinated.
