Vintage cheeseburger with bacon
Daniel Y.

High hopes for you PNY....but you let me down.. Service is key in my book. So having the opportunity to provide optimum service shouldn't be hard. Not only is it an obligation its also a privilege to serve burgers. Reminder, It's burgers!! Bring your A GAME! Finally foods here, now on to the burgers. As you see the Patty to bun ratio just doesn't add up. This is why I have trust issues. I repeat ratio was off! Next flavors, no where near what you would want in a burger. I had 2 other burger experiences in Paris and all I gotta say is why isn't everyone else like them. But here are at PNY. The bacon is extremely off putting. If you're a bacon fan this isn't for you. It's soft, and gamey. Seems like the chef was scared to cook it and so I was scared to eat it. Then the cheese on the loaded fries, let me be clear;that ain't no cheddar. I know what cheddar is and that was not it. Try refrigerating your cheddar, whatever was used used was way to pungent to be on something called loaded fries next to a burger. Best for last, the Big Mac tribute was far off my friends. FAR OFF. You guys had one job, make Big Mac sauce, and you failed. No middle bun, and no sesame bun. Fail. 86. All in all 8 total guests and only one raving about the mushroom burger. Just wish this place lived up to my expectations.

Okay seriously? Who thinks of coming to Paris for the best burgers and fries ever? I honestly think the chicken tenders here are better than any I have ever had in the USA!!! They were crunchy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, and so delicious! My husband couldn't believe how spicy the Bangkok Burger was - it comes with jalapeños and Sriracha- he loved it. And the kids gobbled up every bite of their Children's menus with a small burger, fries, and a homemade soda. They also shared an Oreo milkshake for dessert. Service was excellent. We loved it!

We were walking through the Marais and walked through the Marche des Enfants Rouges looking for food. There were many options there but seemed to be mostly, or many, tourists at the spots we were interested in so we decided to walk around a little more and came across PNY burger. Saw a lot of locals so decided to give it a try. We ordered the Return of the Cowboy Burger and the Golden State of Mind, both medium. The Return of the Cowboy was amazing - cheesy, crisp bacon, and onion ring gave it a good mix of textures. The meat itself was cooked well and was delicious. I am still craving this burger. Fries had good consistency, but could use some pepper/seasoning.

By far the best burger i have tried in Paris. The Place is small so there could be a little waiting time but sit down and order some nice drink in the bar or one of the many craft beers availible. Its all worth the wait. We ordered the burger medium rare and it came out as described. Supermoist and juicy quality beef and fluffy soft bun in perfect harmony. The ratio between patty and bun was the way i want it and all the condiments was spot on. A really good burger by all standards. The staff is very friendly and made us feel right at home. People complaining about rude staff should take a look in the mirror first......Usually you get treated how you treat others and PNY is probably no different. Prices are fair and you do NOT want to miss the salted caramel milkshake with your burger!

Clockwise from the bottom right hand corner the California (cream fries) the return cowboy (cheese fries) and the chicken tender burger.

Food was delicious! We waited outside for about 10 minutes since we got there before they opened, some other guests tried opening the door but were told they weren't opened yet which they weren't so no biggy. Once in we enjoyed a lemonade fizz which was a little tart, so if you enjoy that I recommend it. Our burgers were on very soft buns and the patties were very thick and delicious! The fries are are nothing special but are better when you order them loaded. Overall good experience servers were fine you have to call them over like in any restaurant and I would definitely visit again if I'm ever in Paris. *fyi it is small and a line formed 20 mins after opening so don't be surprised if there's a wait.

The crispy. My god this chicken! Topped with cheese, pork belly and onion jam.

On our first attempt, we tried to dine at PNY on a Saturday evening around 10pm. Unfortunately, they were packed and unlikely to have tables before closing. They took pity on me so I was able to use the bathroom and when I came out, my boyfriend was in a mostly mimed conversation with the bartenders, one of which spoke little English while the other spoke it well. We were able to get beers before leaving and promised to return on another, less popular evening. The following Tuesday we returned to a much less crowded restaurant. We acquired a seat downstairs and ordered a beer as an appetizer. The menu is short and sweet, with only a few sandwiches and salads available. I ordered the "crispy" sandwich with fries and loved every bite. The chicken was tender and crispy with a delicious tangy sauce. I would almost say that it was one of the best pieces of fried chicken breast I have had in a long time. We did not stay for dessert but ordered another drink with our meals. Overall the experience was great. I liked the staff the first night (Tuesday's servers did not speak much English but we still were able to order with no problems). The food was delicious although slightly more expensive than we had been paying for other meals. However we live in NYC so in reality it was a good price point for two sandwiches, fries and 2 beers each.

Arrived at 19:30, 5th in line. Seated by 20:00, by then the line was around the corner. Ordered the original cowboy with cream fries and an oreo milkshake and hubby ordered same burger with loaded fries and a beer. Received food at 20:50. Burger cooked as asked and tasted fresh but nothing about the burger was extra special. Not enough contrast in the flavors. The milkshake was terrible emphasized on the word milk since it was so watery. I felt bad that there one guy working on a busy Saturday night. He took people to their tables, took orders, was the busboy, and personally handed take-out orders to customers outside. I hope someone had called out that night and it is not like this every night. Left by 21:30 since we had to wake forever to pay. The wait was the worse ever. Never again.

I love this burger nice bread nice meat and good french fries to go with it. This time I went to the new one that just opened next to the carreau du temple and the decoration remind me of Miami ocean drive... colors like on the sixties and you can even eat on the terrace. On top of this, The service is lovely. If you are looking for a nice burger place just go for it!

Return of the Cowboy burger/ Waldorf cream fries.

In my opinion these are the best burgers in Paris. Service can be a bit slow at times because it gets crowded. The interior is awesome, the drinks are a bit too pricey for what it's worth. Whatever, there's always water. Get the Waldorf cream fries, they're delicious and enough for two.

A few other parties trickled in through the course of our meal. The menu has many appealing dishes but after narrowing everything down, GF ordered the onion soup and seitan bourguignon. I ordered a vegan "roast" with the side of potatoes. I'm not going to bullshit you, nobody is going to confuse this onion soup for the real deal but once you get past that, it was absolutely excellent. You're hearing this from someone who doesn't like onions or beef broth. I wanted to just try it but ended up funneling half of it down my gullet. The roast was pretty good, as were the potatoes and what I assume was a creamy cauliflower "salad" like side. It was nothing earth shattering but enjoyable and I really appreciated having a vegan meal considering the vast majority of the offerings in this city. Regarding the beef bourguignon, GF says: "it was very tasty". I will add that the service was...just ok. It was pretty quick and prompt but in stark contrast to the welcoming and friendly service received elsewhere in the city.

We also ordered a chicken Caesar Salad for the table...we had a really tasty one at a cafe earlier in our trip but this one wasn't as good. For my not so adventurous daughter we ordered a Croque Monsieur, a ham & cheese sandwich topped with a béchamel sauce then toasted. She really enjoyed it! My friend wanted French onion soup, she'd tried one at a cafe earlier in our trip but it was not very tasty. This one at Chouchou had a better cheese topping than the first one she tried. We also ordered steak frites & a carbonara pasta. Our server forgot the carbonara so we had to remind him when we were almost finished with our entire meal. It was quite a bustling restaurant so make reservation to ensure you get a table. It's a pretty big restaurant by French standards, normally everywhere in France is quaint & small. Overall if you are shopping at this mall...this is a decent French restaurant but if you do your research you can find better. We were starving after we shopped so this worked for us.

My son is not a cheese fan so he opted for the norvigene (smoked salmon in dill lemon and EVOO. I decided to stick with the house specialty; Landais Au Gratin (cream potatoes, duck breast and emmental cheese). The 2 German girls beside me ordered a cider with both their meals so I followed their lead. When in Paris...... Considering the temperature, I almost second-guess myself and ordered something other than their house specialty of au gratin potatoes. In the end, I was very glad I overruled that thought. Brody enjoyed his meal. He just appeared to still be hungry when it was done and a 16 year-old boy that normally has a high caloric intake, I can understand why he wanted a second meal after eating his first! The restaurant in the patio were quite crowded even though we had reservations. They still sat us within five minutes of arrival. Not that five minutes is a long time to wait, but it was still worth the wait as good as the food tasted. We both enjoyed our meals.

The worst part was the bread in the soup. It tasted stale which ruin the flavor of the soup. I had to finish without the bread. Escargot - Another disappointment. What made escargots special was the garlic butter and herb. Here, there were the herbs, no garlic, and French is famous with their butter but I taste oil but not buttery. It's not as well seared as I hope but they managed to cook it through without overcooking it. The size of Foie Gras is kind of scary, it's like a small piece of rib eye steak. With just the onion soup and Foie Gras, I could barely swallow anything. Generous portion.
