My vegetarian had a a sweet potato bake that she thought was decent. My veggie burger was underwhelming- the patty was super thin and lacked a clear flavor or texture. The egg on top was perfectly cooked, however. Service was normal for Paris, quiet place. For a vegetarian party this is probably not a bad option - not so many pure vegetarian options in Paris.

A few other parties trickled in through the course of our meal. The menu has many appealing dishes but after narrowing everything down, GF ordered the onion soup and seitan bourguignon. I ordered a vegan "roast" with the side of potatoes. I'm not going to bullshit you, nobody is going to confuse this onion soup for the real deal but once you get past that, it was absolutely excellent. You're hearing this from someone who doesn't like onions or beef broth. I wanted to just try it but ended up funneling half of it down my gullet. The roast was pretty good, as were the potatoes and what I assume was a creamy cauliflower "salad" like side. It was nothing earth shattering but enjoyable and I really appreciated having a vegan meal considering the vast majority of the offerings in this city. Regarding the beef bourguignon, GF says: "it was very tasty". I will add that the service was...just ok. It was pretty quick and prompt but in stark contrast to the welcoming and friendly service received elsewhere in the city.

My friend wanted French onion soup, she'd tried one at a cafe earlier in our trip but it was not very tasty. This one at Chouchou had a better cheese topping than the first one she tried. We also ordered steak frites & a carbonara pasta. Our server forgot the carbonara so we had to remind him when we were almost finished with our entire meal. It was quite a bustling restaurant so make reservation to ensure you get a table. It's a pretty big restaurant by French standards, normally everywhere in France is quaint & small. Overall if you are shopping at this mall...this is a decent French restaurant but if you do your research you can find better. We were starving after we shopped so this worked for us.

I decided to stick with the house specialty; Landais Au Gratin (cream potatoes, duck breast and emmental cheese). The 2 German girls beside me ordered a cider with both their meals so I followed their lead. When in Paris...... Considering the temperature, I almost second-guess myself and ordered something other than their house specialty of au gratin potatoes. In the end, I was very glad I overruled that thought. Brody enjoyed his meal. He just appeared to still be hungry when it was done and a 16 year-old boy that normally has a high caloric intake, I can understand why he wanted a second meal after eating his first! The restaurant in the patio were quite crowded even though we had reservations. They still sat us within five minutes of arrival. Not that five minutes is a long time to wait, but it was still worth the wait as good as the food tasted. We both enjoyed our meals.

Only two tables were occupied by Americans which was a good sign. We ordered the tartare, foie gras, Octopus salad, duck and pork belly, all of which were delightfully prepared and tasted very good. We ordered Palova and the Soufflé for desert (both highly recommended). They had a very extensive wine list but we opted for the Charles Heidstick Brut Reserve by the glass which was very good. I had the Brittany scallops in a pesto and citrus dressing topped with parmigiana reggiano - absolutely amazing! Mains were the braised beef cheeks which were melt in your mouth and a tender roasted veal. The smoothest puréed potatoes and a crispy potato gaufrette were perfect accompaniments. The Grand Marnier soufflé was the perfect ending to an outstanding lunch. I look forward to returning to La Regalade for another lunch or perhaps dinner.

There were a few stew/soup style bowls (which were all delicious), some that focused on chickpeas or edamame, another with sweet potato waffles, and one with an incredible beet hummus. If it sounds like a lot of food, it was, even for two people. We both walked away very filled up, though stomach's happy. Pricing was reasonable too, keeping the wallet happy as well. However, it is definitely overshadowed by the rich flavor of the foie gras. This experience was unforgettable, with our view of Parisian streets on a brisk, April night. We even came back on our last night, but didn't realize the hours on Google maps was for the deli. The restaurant closes earlier, before 9:00 PM. This meal got us thinking about Paris in a positive light, and we hope to be able to come back to eat the amazing dishes again!

What made escargots special was the garlic butter and herb. Here, there were the herbs, no garlic, and French is famous with their butter but I taste oil but not buttery. Other places I actually get excited dipping the bread into the garlic butter but not here. Pan seared Foie gras - The quality of Foie Gras was definitely there. It's not as well seared as I hope but they managed to cook it through without overcooking it. The size of Foie Gras is kind of scary, it's like a small piece of rib eye steak. With just the onion soup and Foie Gras, I could barely swallow anything. Generous portion.

My wife had a perfectly dressed bursts and ham salad. It hit just right. The home made lemon curd crepe for dessert was delicious. I will not hesitate to return if time permits. Our waiter was all too patient with us not speaking french and the food was AMAZING (got the vegetarian lasagna and the vegetarian plate!). Delicious, hearty, and healthy. Incredible wine and complimentary bread really made the evening!! And the atmosphere is great-- small, cozy, quaint with great music-- everything you'd want for a lovely meal in Paris!!
