Last night we had dinner at Po Thai - Restaurante on 10th and 14. We really enjoyed it and would definitely go back! We had: -Veggie Summer Rolls-very fresh and crunchy and the two sauces they came with were both very good. -Beef Green Curry-really enjoyed the curry flavor and veggies. The beef was a bit tough, kind of common here... -Chicken Pineapple Fried Rice-my favorite! Super tasty and good chicken. -Drinks-my margarita was one of the best I've ever had! Hubby also liked his Mai Tai. -Spiciness-we asked for "very spicy" which is their step below "Thai spicy." It delivered big time! Also the homemade chili sauce (sambol) they bring to the table was no joke, proceed with caution! Service was very good and our server spoke flawless English. Let me first just say that the experience here was made so much better because of our waitress, Iris, who was extremely knowledgeable, kind and thoughtful. Of note, I have celiac (strict gluten-free), and I'm vegetarian, and had a great time dining here. For celiac, they were cautious and aware of cross contamination protocols. I started off with the Thai tea which was so different from what I am used to in the states; it was less sweet and felt a lot more authentic. It was a mix of creamy and perfect balance of flavor, might have been the best Thai tea I've ever had outside of Thailand. For the food, the Pad Thai was absolutely delicious! I got it with steamed tofu, the noodles were well-cooked, the whole dish was well-seasoned, portions were generous, and absolutely no complaints about the food. Lastly, just wanted to give another shoutout to Iris. She was extremely helpful with helping me find an appropriate item I could eat off the menu due to being celiac, and she knew pretty much every ingredient in every single dish and how it was cooked off the top of her head, so I felt very confident in safely eating here, and she also communicated this to the kitchen. Her suggestions for drinks were also excellent. As a small note, it was also nice to be able to eat in an indoor restaurant given the heat outside. Solid Thai food with excellent service. The food comes out incredibly fast to the point that you wonder if it's pre made, but you will love what you eat. Our waiter was adament that the pad ew was better than the pad Thai and he was right. I'd order that dish again any time. If you've had many Thai dishes or know great Thai food then you'll know this isn't exceptional Thai food. However, it's satisfying, filling, and fun. Someone I meet recommended this place to me. He told me if I wanted good and close to authentic Thai food in Playa I should come here. After a long day in the sun at Cozumel I decided to head here to grab dinner before heading back to my AirBnB. I had a totally weird feeling before I even ordered, but I brushed it off. I didn't really think anything about it..at this point because sometimes it is easier for some restaurants to take numbers instead of you telling them the name of the items. Another weird thing was when I was paying the same lady seemed super impatient with me. She asked me to sign the receipt, but when she asked me to sign I was trying to put my card back in my bag and I could see how impatient she looked. I said sorry, but now that I think about it why did I say sorry. She shouldn't have been impatient. She smiled 0 times. Anyways, the food was good. Good flavors..I would recommend everything I got but I would not come back. There are other better Thai food places in Playa that provide 100% better service and has great food. I ordered the pad thai, pad sew, ra naw, and fried rice. All for around $40 SUPER CHEAP!!! Relatively everything in Playa seems very affordable. The food was more than excellent. The explosion of flavor and aroma of every dish was unique. This a go to place here in Playa del Carmen. Our server, Iris, provided us with excellent service. We discovered this place late into our travels, but we are glad we did! The food was authentic and delicious. We found out that the chef is from Thailand, so that really makes a difference. Our service was great, Darinka was amazing. The music wasn't very loud like most other places so we were able to have a conversation while enjoying our meal. I ordered the Shrimp Pad Thai. The shrimps were well executed: juicy and plump. However, the sauce in the noodles was too sweet. This created a generally unbalanced dish that needed a ton of peanuts to establish an umami forward taste which helped to mask, but not fix the issue of sweetness. read more

Loved this little spot. Came here for our final dinner while in Playa Del Carmen after searching for a good Thai spot. This was a good choice. Loved everything, from the Thai iced tea and spring rolls to the main dishes and dessert. Service was great as well, kind of a norm in Mexico based off experience. I ordered the pad Thai for my main dish, with the addition of shrimp. My parents ordered the pad see ewe and fried rice. We all enjoyed our dishes. I like how their soy sauce had hot peppers added to it - a nice marriage of Asian and mexican flavors. I noticed they had sticky rice with mango on their dessert menu, so I had to save room for it. This was the first place we hit for dinner upon arrival in PDC. What a wonderful find! Everything we ordered from this place was delicious! The chef is actually from Thailand and his talent in seasoning is out of this world! The service was wonderful; every person who waited upon us was warm and friendly. The first time we ate there, I had the fresh spring rolls and my cousin had the pad prik kang. She almost drank the broth out of the bowl...it was THAT good! One is the best Thai meals I ever had. My wife had the Seabass which was good. She does not like spicy food so they made it without the chili's. We shared the spring rolls which were very good. Food was very authentic; but they put a partially raw shrimp in the tom yum soup and I bit into it; it tasted disgusting and ruined my whole meal. Hearing a lot of good things about this restaurant, so I stopped in last week to check it out. I got their Pad Thai, and I say it was entirely too sweet. I have never had Pad Thai even close to that level of sweetness. As I was leaving a gentleman sitting at a table asked how it was. I told him he said, "Yeah, you should order white rice and mix it together to offset the sweetness." Don't think that is the answer to this problem.
