Don't hesitate if you're looking for a great meal, at a reasonable priced with excellent service. I came here for a quick meal and Valentino took care of me well. He helped me decide on which dishes to order and in the end I got a combo of octopus and snail (conch). My dish was absolutely delicious! It was full of flavor and the garlicky kick took my dish to a whole new level. The seafood was definitely fresh and well prepared. The rice was perfect with the fresh steamed veggie. It's a more healthy alternative and it make my meal taste more complete and satisfying. If you go here, look out for Valentino because his English is really good, which I appreciate since I'm a foreigner. Definitely would suggest this place for their food, chill vibe and exceptional service and reasonably priced. Btw, they do accept credit cards. I'm not sure why Yelp says they don't but they do because that's how I paid for my meal.

Absolutely great Food and Great service! Would definitely return. Even git complimentary drinks

BEST SEAFOOD IVE HAD IN MY LIFE!! This place is as fresh as it gets, staff is very friendly and family owned. This is a must try on your vacation. You will not regret it.

We stumbled upon this spot right before an absolute down pour. My friends were looking for a spot to eat a whole fish. Luckily, Valentino was there to provide for us! He was so welcoming and the food was to die for. We're a few people who know a thing or two about tequilas (we work at tequila bar in the US) and Valentino brought us out a bunch of stuff to try that we've never even seen before- a true wow experience. He even found us a couple mezcal worms to eat to really end our experience on a high note. By far the best meal we had in Playa Del Carmen. The amount of stars I would give to them is outlandish, but the whole experience really resonated with us.

Chill atmosphere. Clean. Great prices. Fresh fish. Nice to go to a real restaurant and not a tourist spot in Playa. I'll definitely keep coming back. Service was perfect as well.

Ordered cadellic margs and whole fish and guac. Fantastic service and excellent fish. We got grilled and fried whole fish and the owner brought them out beforehand so we could pick it out. So dog friendly that we were gifted a sombrero for our furrbaby! It was our last night in Mexico and I'm so happy we choose this place. To top things off, I liked a song so they played it for me twice!

    Whole fried fish.

The service is quick, the prices are incredibly reasonable, and the food is consistently delicious. Before your meal even arrives, you're served a plate of fresh radishes, cucumber, and lime wedges, plus a selection of toppings including tomatoes, onions, and both a green and red salsa. Unfortunately this location didn't give us the cactus like the other locations did. The red salsa was my favourite, it paired perfectly with the tacos and had just the right amount of heat and flavour. The standout for me was the al pastor taco. The meat was incredibly flavourful with crispy edges, a smoky char, and the perfect balance of savoury spice and sweet pineapple. It was easily one of the best al pastor tacos I had in Playa del Carmen. I also tried the sirloin taco and the chicken breast plate, both of which were excellent. The portions were generous, everything tasted fresh, and the quality was impressive, especially for the price. El Fogón absolutely lived up to the hype. If you're looking for authentic, delicious tacos and grilled meats that won't break the bank, this is a must visit. I loved it so much that I ended up eating at all three locations and every visit was just as good as the last.

My wife and I shared the chicken fajitas, which were excellent. My friend ordered the al pastor fajitas, and his wife had the pork chops--everyone agreed the food was delicious. If you're looking for authentic Mexican food with excellent service and a great atmosphere, I highly recommend El Fogón. We would definitely come back!

I guess they weren't prepared for it to be this busy on a Wednesday night. The food was all really good, except for the fish. It was grilled well but tasted a bit dry. Only the top of the fish that was covered in sauce had flavor but it didn't seep through to the bottom of the fish. I recommend getting the Seafood Ceviche because they make it with coconut milk, which was different from all the other ceviches we had on our trip. Other than the slow service, this was a good experience. Seafood Ceviche 9/10 Crispy Jumbo Shrimps 9/10 Soft Shell Crab Taco 9/10 Fresh Catch of the Day (half garlic butter, half ictio) 7/10

Then came the whole fried fish -- crispy, golden, incredibly fresh, and topped with fresh onions, cilantro, jalapeños, and a charred lime on the side. Everything is made with the freshest local ingredients, and it shows in every bite. The flavors are bright, authentic, and unforgettable. ICTIO is an absolute must. This is the kind of meal you'll remember and tell everyone about.
