I can't beleive it's taken me this long to write a review for Fork Hill. It's my neighborhood gem, that I feel so lucky to have so close to home. I've never had a bad experience or meal here. Family owned and run, you can feel all the love and thoughtfulness they put in to this place through the ambiance, service, and food. The menu changes seasonally which I love. I love the level of creativity they put in to creating their menu/dishes. Making sure everything is seasonal and not catering to whatever is trending at the moment, as well as switching up enough where I can try something new, but also look forward to trying some things again next season. I've come here plenty of times already for both lunch and dinner, brunch isn't my thing...but they have that too and I'm sure it is just as delicious. I've tried the chicken sandwich, the short rib, duck, and lamb, and other dishes which have all been delicious. My favorites being their short rib, the duck, and mushroom salad. The short rib is so tender and the polenta creamy and flavorful. The duck was incredible with the crispiest skin, my only note would be that it came with cabbage and a sweet potato apple puree which although complimentary to the flavors with the duck was a little bit too sweet of a combo for me. The mushroom salad is great, those mushrooms have so much flavor, the dressing and pomegranates bring the perfect burst of tang to the rich and meaty mushrooms. Shrimp & Grits is another favorite of mine, great blackened flavor and creamy grits. Their cocktails are great too, a large variety and the bartender is very knowledgeable and knows how to guide you through their options. Truly high quality food that is not overpriced, this neighborhood needed something that was a step up from fast casual with out the nyc prices, that just don't suit this community. Whenever I want a great meal and want to stay close to Home, I come here. Whether it's to treat myself to a great dinner or get some work done remotely during lunch this is my go to spot. Portion sizes are just right, the food is to good to leave any left overs. Can't go wrong with apple Cobbler or chocolate mousse, everything tastes like it's made in house. My biggest flowers and compliments to the chefs putting everything together behind the scenes. Parking can be intimidating at first since it's the middle of a residential neighborhood but it's not impossible. If you turn right on the corner of the restaurant and drive down the hill, you'll eventually find something even if it means a long walk back up. It's worth it! The first time I came here I only had Apple Pay and my phone died, I was so stressed, but they were so kind, passed no judgement and found me a charger. I'll always appreciate that. I've typically been served by the bartender with long black hair, she's very genuine and great at keeping conversation. When I sit down I'm typically served by a very sweet waitress with an accent that I think is Irish(but I'm probably wrong lol) she is also very genuine and warm. I'll be back, as always, highly reccomend if in the area, support a small family owned business!

Overall ambience was great. Food had great flavor. Pork chop was a little dry (but it's really hard to get a good pork chop). Stone fruit salad was seasonal and had a balance of sweet and crunchy (with nuts) One star less as parking was scarce on a Sunday night and it took us 15 mins to get a spot.

We love this place!!! We have been a lot and every time it is perfect! Victoria is one of the best waitresses out there. Service is always great. Chef is spectacular! Ordered: Lavender Martini (~$16): Corgi Bee Blossom gin, lavender simple syrup, elderflower liqueur, and lemon juice Steak & Eggs (~$20): NY strip steak, two eggs, hashbrown, and chimichurri sauce Aya's take: Cute little spot in the neighborhood! We stopped by for brunch with a reservation, although it wasn't needed since it wasn't busy. The Lavender Martini wasn't memorable and the color was a bit off. It was more of a gray than a violet/purple that I was expecting. The flavor was nice and light. The Steak & Eggs was a solid choice and priced right! The steak was cooked to a perfect medium and the eggs were a perfect sunnyside up. The chimichurri sauce complimented both well. I absolutely loved the hash brown; it tasted very homemade - I've never had one like it before.

My husband and I ordered the FHK Burger and Cornmeal Pancakes (with fresh fruit for an extra $3). The burger was very very salty so that was a small letdown, but it tasted very homemade. The cornmeal pancakes were delicious, although I was a little disappointed that the fresh fruit for $3 extra were just tiny cut up apples in the pancakes. Food was 3-4 out of 5 stars imo. Taking two points off because of service. We came in with a cup of coffee from home, and the hostess (owner?) said "you cannot bring in outside food or drinks, it's a health code violation." I've never heard of that before in this town but even if it was true, I wish she said it slightly kinder. Then, when my husband's burger came out, the waiter (co-owner?) offered my husband a steak knife and said "in case you want to cut your burger... or stab her" (me, his wife!). Wow what a not funny joke, I felt offended and like why would you put that comment out into the world. Anyways, we will not be back:(

This little Honey Hole will totally surprise you. The menu is creative but simple and your palate will thank you for the gift. Plates are well portioned and superbly balanced in flavor. Kitchen staff puts as much attention into presentation as they do preparation of every dish. Service by entire front staff is friendly, accommodating and menu knowledgeable. The owner Ed takes great pleasure insuring that you have a pleasant visit as if you were dining at his home. The open kitchen concept completes the home dining experience. Seating is comfy for small groups and outdoor seating available (weather permitting), you can also dine seated at the bar. Visual and audio entertainment is kept at a level that permits conversation with the rest of your party. FHK is a little gastro treasure find that will not disappoint whether Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner. Be sure to greet Ed and thank him for creating this gastronomical oasis. Yummy Tummy!

    Rigatoni
    Nonya B.

Food was not really good. The rigatoni had peas in it and a flavorless cream sauce. The spicy chicken sandwich wasn't worth the money and wasn't anything special. Brussel sprouts were good, but it's hard to mess that up. There were not a lot of vegetarian options. We got margaritas that tasted like hotel breakfast buffet orange juice. Service was fine otherwise. Ambiance was cozy. It can be hard to find parking.

Very nice find in this residential neighborhood. I was visiting friends who had just moved to Union City and we were so happy to find this spot for brunch. The service was excellent and the dishes were hearty and delicious. We were a large group and tried a variety of dishes- from the breakfast-y items to the lunch-y items. Favorite dishes were the FHK Burger which has double smashed beef patties, the chicken and waffles, grain bowl (with chicken), and the salad (with chicken added). The preparation of the chicken on all three dishes with chicken was excellent. The crab cake benedict and the crab cake sandwich were nice. Of the dishes we ordered, the steak and eggs were least favorite. I ordered medium rare and would've preferred the exterior to have a little more texture/crisp than what I got. Aside from that, the chimichurri sauce and over easy eggs were perfect; and the hash browns were crunchy and tasty. I'm interested to try their dinner menu.

Stoped here for a nice dinner. It's very close to home. What a nice spot. The staff was delightful and the food was great. Loved the look and feel of the place. The mussels were great and the swordfish special was amazing. Drinks as well had a great selection. I'm looking forward to many more meals here. I highly recommend stopping by.

Always passed by but first time stopping in. We came to celebrate Father's Day and were warmly welcomed. The interior is nicely decorated and inviting. Food was freshly made, from scratch, and seasoned well. The Partner Ed was a pleasure to chat with and such a genuine guy. Kudos to the chef and cooks as the food was solid and what I enjoyed was their take Steak and eggs. The steak was cooked to my ideal temp and rested. The sauce was balanced did not overpower the steak. The hash-brown was crispy and loved their take on it. They used good coffee grounds and staff were warm and friendly to kids. See y'all next time!

Found this place by accident when going to an event at the Meadowlands. Expo Centee. All the restaurants around there are chain. Just drive 10 minutes and you'll find this gem. They had a well appointed brunch/lunch menu. Excellent service, one of the best Bloody Mary's I've had and an excellent burger. 2 very thin patties seasoned and juicy. Nicely carmelized onion and a creamy melted cheese (tasted like American cheese) atop a sesame seed bun that was soft and held up to the juice of the burgers. I added bacon that was good quality cooked just right. Side of homemade fries - they could have been seasoned but that's what salt and pepper are for. My sister had egg Benedict and they were also excellent. Perfectly poached egg lightly dressed with a savory hollandaise and a side of their version or hash browns. Finished with cappuccino. They have an industrial machine and use illy espresso. Great cup and froth. Bill for 2 was $77. We weren't rushed and really appreciated this. Will definitely go back.

How's the parking situation at this restaurant for dinner on a weekdays? Thanks!

Street parking. I usually find a space within a few feet of the place but there are new buildings going up so that might change over time.

The space was not large, but they really made the most of it, offering a decent number of tables with reasonable space between them. My friend and I were quickly seated and immediately greeted by a charming server that opened our bottle of wine (it's BYO) and offered us still or sparkling water. I had read in other reviews that you had to pay for water, so I was not surprised by the $6 bottle of Saratoga that wound up on our bill. In addition to our engaging server and the happening atmosphere, the food was similarly incredible. We decided to order a load of things to share, so that we could try a greater variety. We started with two appetizers that were seasonal Spring additions to the menu. The Hamachi Crudo included five thickly-sliced, tender pieces of Japanese yellowtail sitting in a broth of rhubarb aguachile and topped with white strawberries and basil seeds. It was an unique blend that we would not have expected to work, but boy was it delicious! The sweet toppings infused a load of flavor into an otherwise mild fish. We also enjoyed the Fava-mole, a creamy puree of fava beans studded with balls of hand-pulled mozzarella and pea tendrils, all drizzled with zesty ramp oil. I had not been sure what to expect from the dish, but it offered fresh, bright garden flavors. We also decided to share a pasta course and an entree. The Fettuccini was tossed with spring truffles and maitakes in a light, yet heavily aromatic, wild mushroom cream sauce. It was one of the best dishes I had had in quite some time. Then, as we were waiting on our seafood entree, we received a second pasta, courtesy of the Chef. I had mentioned that I had heard rave reviews about Flour from a server at Heirloom Kitchen, a top NJ restaurant. Apparently, our waiter had let the Chef know about that glowing praise, and the kitchen further verified that positivity with the generous gesture. In fact, they wound up sending out the Linguine with white clam sauce, razor clams, and wild ramps, the other dish about which I had been most curious anyway. Well, it was another winner! It was garlicky, herbaceous, and rich with flavors of the sea. Speaking of seafood, we next received the Branzino 'Bahn mi', a perfectly cooked piece of Mediterranean sea bass with Vietnamese sausage and pickled vegetables. The branzino's crispy skin and flaky, moist interior were excellent, and we loved all of the other smoky and briny flavors on the plate. After all of that excellent food, we would have loved to try one of their appealing desserts, but we were just too full. Between the ambiance, welcoming vibe, and delicious cuisine, our Flour experience was simply divine! It has now became one of my favorite restaurants in the area, and I cannot wait to try their pizza at some point as well.

I was a big fan of both, especially the ricotta, which was so incredibly creamy. For the mains, everyone's fresh-made pasta was excellent. I ordered the Mexican street corn, which was unique, flavorful, and delicious. I also tried some of the spicy rigatoni and loved it. We ended the night with the s'mores dessert, which was rich and chocolatey. Also, the fact that the restaurant is BYOB is a huge plus! The only downside was that I lost an item during our visit. I had a really hard time finding their contact information online, so I had to go back in person to ask about it, which was a bit annoying. Ultimately, they weren't able to recover it, but the food itself was still outstanding.

I definitely recommend having a reservation as they were pretty busy on a Sunday morning. The Cappuccino was well-made, soothing, and gave me a much-needed caffeine kick. The brunch potatoes could've been way crispier but I did enjoy the peppers & onions mixed it. The French Toast was fantastic. Well - the tables were soo close together that I felt like holding hands with the couple next to us and eventually - I could smell their farts. And no - I did not fart; it was not me. Fair warning - prepare for an intimate dining experience with your fellow connoisseurs. Have fun. Happy Farting.

There was only one other family dining, and the space stayed empty the entire time. The service was genuinely great. Friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere, and a really cute, cozy space. I especially loved the Christmas décor and overall vibe--it felt warm and inviting. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite live up to the prices. The house salad was $13 and honestly one of the most basic, smallest, and most boring salads I've ever had--very underwhelming for the cost. We also ordered quesadillas, a cheeseburger with fries, and grilled cheese with tomato soup. My son enjoyed the burger and fries, and the quesadillas were flavorful, generously filled with chicken and veggies, and came with sour cream, pico, and guac. The tomato soup was tasty, while the grilled cheese was just okay. One small but appreciated detail: canned soda. Cold, crisp, and not flat which is always a win. Lunch for 3 came in just under $100, which felt high given what we received. One frustration was being seated in a tight corner right next to the kitchen even though the dining room was completely empty. We were so close I could literally see into the kitchen and count items on the shelves. On top of that, the hostess repeatedly walked by calling out "corner," which became distracting and honestly a bit irritating. Overall, I liked the vibe, but the food-to-price ratio missed the mark for me. It wasn't bad--just alright.

The organic chicken was executed cleanly, retaining moisture and natural flavor without drying out, which speaks to disciplined temperature control. The meal closed with a bread pudding that was rich and elevated by a caramel sauce that complemented rather than overwhelmed the dish. Flow: Service followed a structured and intentional cadence. Guests were asked to place the full order upfront, allowing the kitchen to control pacing. This resulted in smooth ticket firing and appropriate spacing between dishes, creating intervals to enjoy drinks without feeling rushed or delayed. Hospitality: Service was attentive and organized. I've waited a long time to write this review to give antique bar and bakery a fair chance but…read moreunfortunately, they have missed the mark on several occasions. My first visit was for my birthday a few years ago where we ordered a steak dish that was so incredibly fatty that it was inedible. We told our server and they offered to bring us out another, which was also still SO fatty. The experience left a bitter taste in our mouths but we were comped the steak and offered a $100 gift card to use on a future visit. We were in no rush to return and it took almost a year for us to visit again. On this visit I don't recall anything being bad but nothing stood out. Our third and fourth visits ended up being yesterday (Valentine's Day) for last minute brunch and dinner reservations. We were appreciative that they were able to squeeze us in last minute. We weren't too keen on a pre fixe menu, but everywhere appears to have a set menu on the holiday. I ordered the shakshuka which lacked depth of flavor and was very disappointing. Probably the worst shakshuka I've ever had unfortunately. The salad and bread that came with it were both good. My husband ordered the steak sandwich (the other 2 entrees he wanted to try were both sold out). The sandwich was very flavorful but needed to be served on a crustier bread. The skillet pancake had good flavor but was so incredibly dense and could've used more bananas. Valentine's dinner was the straw that broke the camel's back. Out of everything that was offered, the only dish worth mentioning was the lobster pasta. It was spicy, pasta cooked al dente, and a fair amount of lobster chunks. We received our salad promptly but our pasta second course came out before the seafood starter course. We brought it to our server's attention and it still took a long time to receive it. Then we had another long wait for our main course. The steak was okay, mashed potatoes were good, but the peppercorn sauce absolutely ruined the meal. There were too many peppercorns in every bite. Also the Nutella flan they offered for dessert was a far cry from a flan. It wasn't good. I would've preferred their regular desserts as an offering. Service was very lackluster. Overall, I'm very disappointed. I really wanted to love antique given that it has been voted best restaurant in Hoboken, but the service and food are both subpar.

The service was still professional and friendly, but the food left something to be desired. Though it was a Thursday evening, the weather was not great, so it was not overly surprising that the restaurant was not very crowded. Because of that fact, the gracious hostess offered us our choice of a few different tables, from a larger booth to a two-top near the window. We opted for the booth that would give us a chance to look out into the restaurant AND to still see the Manhattan skyline. We decided to order some drinks, and I opted for an Espresso Martini, which was not typically something I would have gotten before dessert, but I wanted the extra caffeine! Plus, their version included a caramel cold foam, which enticingly made it extra creamy and delicious. In fact, it was definitely one of the best espresso martinis I had ever had. We were deciding to skip any starters, so we asked for some bread while we waited for our entrees. The plate of focaccia was decent and hit the spot, but we were charged $2 for it, which was not a big deal but also not appreciated. For my entree, I went with the Lobster Bouillabaisse. The broth was flavorful, but there was not much of it. In fact, the dish came with three sweet rolls to dip into the soup, but I could have lived with less given the limited amount of liquid in the bowl. The included blue prawns were good, but the Hokkaido scallops and lobster were chewy. There was also supposed to jumbo lump crab, which seemed to have been replaced by gritty clams. There were also leeks and Yukon potatoes that were sliced in small cylinders and looked fairly similar to each other. The potatoes were bland, cold, and under-cooked. Overall, it was not very impressive for $48. My companion's Prime Filet Mignon was of an unknown size on the menu, but arrived looking smaller than the typical 8-ounces. It was also over-cooked. He did like his mashed potatoes, though. For dessert, we decided to get the Apple and Pear Bread Pudding again, since that had been excellent last time and would hopefully be a redeeming feature of the meal, which it was. The sweet, caramelized brioche had been infused with cubes of fruit, baked, and drizzled with a sea salt caramel. We replaced the designated companion creme fraiche gelato with a scoop of passion fruit sorbet, which was less of an appropriate pairing, but more of an appealing variety to us. While Drift truly offered a stunning space with incredible service, they really could improve their culinary preparations.
