    Pesto pasta
    Christian D.

Casa Di Napoli is a lovely small family owned business. The decor inside is very traditional and feels fancy but also at home. I enjoyed the ambiance and it is a good BYOB place to sit and chat with someone on a date. They have a special menu which was nice to see and i felt prices were reasonable. I ordered pesto pasta from the special menu and some stuffed clams, i was really happy with both and no complaints on flavor! The service was quick and front door lady was really nice on our way out, would go back just because she asked if we would and i gave her my word!

Quintessential American / Jersey Italian restaurant in Union City. This is family run establishment and you can tell most of the customers have been dining here for years. I found Casa Di Napoli on Yelp and couldn't resist giving it a try. Sometimes you just want angel hair pasta in Alfredo sauce, you know? On Friday night, we called ahead and got a table for 8:30. It was pretty busy when we arrived with a ton of locals and regulars. They have a whiteboard with the specials of the day, plus a regular menu. I saw that the lobster ravioli was one of the most popular dishes on yelp, so we decided to share it as an appetizer. I was skeptical - but it was actually delicious. A dente pasta with a nice lobster filling and the vodka sauce was very good. My only comment would be that the ravioli skin was very thick, but still tasty. For my entrée, I went with the sole oregnata. Next time I might go with the scallops instead. I liked how this was cooked with the breadcrumbs and baked. Sole is an expensive and tricky fish to cook, maybe a little bit over, but I enjoyed it. All entrées come with a side of either pasta, baked potato, or vegetables. I upgraded my pasta to be with Alfredo sauce... A delicious addition. I was happy that the angel hair was still al dente, I love a firm noodle. The parmesan combo was pretty watery, maybe from the eggplant - probably our least favorite dish of the night. Will definitely come back. This restaurant provides really good American Italian classics that are comforting and tasty. Plus, it's BYOB! Bring a bottle of wine, they don't charge for uncorking.

Dependable red sauce Italian. The chicken and veal dishes especially the chicken and veal Parmesan are outstanding. Pasta dishes are solid. Reasonably priced and good attentive service. Ordered trays for a party and everyone loved the food.

I've been here so many times! No idea why I haven't reviewed this place before. The atmosphere here is absolutely incredible--one of my favorite spots in Union City! This cozy, cash-only, BYOB restaurant serves up delicious food that keeps me coming back. My personal favorites are the fried calamari and the chicken Parm, both of which are outstanding. I've also enjoyed the penne vodka multiple times, and it never disappoints. Trust me, you'll love it here!

Pasta Zazzona. Or grandma's "messy pasta". Pasta, melted mozz, garlic, oil and pancetta. Insanely delicious!!!!

This was literally just like eating at home. I felt like I was in a cozy little dining area, just sharing food with good company, and not just the friends I was with but also all of the people at the tables around us. It's a family-run business; the grandma came by to say hi to us and give us recommendations, while our waiter was her grandson. It was adorable and warm and homey and lovely. They have a menu with standard pasta dishes and entrees, and they also have a list of the specials of the day which they write out on a white board. I ordered the lobster and shrimp aglio olio, which was exactly as advertised. If you like garlic and oil, you'll enjoy this. The shrimp was cooked so well, and once I topped it with a ton of cheese (just how I like it), it was excellent. We also got RAVE reviews about the lava cake, so I had to get it. It was warm, gooey, and exactly what I wanted. They did not skimp on the vanilla ice cream (you know how sometimes you run out of ice cream for your dessert when you get a la mode? Yeah, not with this. I'm talking two CHUNKY scoops of ice cream). And the cherry on top is that everything is so reasonably priced. I'd love to come back.

    Warmly greeted by Santa!

This place is absolutely great. Fantastic food, service, great prices and byob. More importantly, as compared to other Hoboken restaurants you feel appreciated and welcome here. Come on the weekends and ask for Cheryl

First impression of the restaurant, there is a lot of seating and everyone was nice! We didn't know we came for happy hour so that was a happy surprise, we ended up ordering the shrimp app on the happy hour menu and it was DELICIOUS, then we got the spicy rigatoni with grilled and breaded chicken. Also AMAZING! Talk about huge portions, honestly we should have shared (rookie mistake on our part) but the portions for the money is such a good deal. We had a lot of left overs we can't wait to eat this week! We will for sure be back to try everything else on the menu.

My friend who lives in Hoboken gave me a few options for Italian restaurants and Il Taviola took reservations, had space for us, and had a very good menu at decent prices. I had thought I had never been to Il Taviola before. But the moment I stepped into the restaurant, I was like, well, actually I have been here before and I just straight up forgot. Woops. Well, it was a pleasant surprise to be back and I actually had an even better time this time than last time. I had the spicy chicken parm with rigatoni and wow, it was actually quite spicy. It was really good, but super spicy! My SFIL absolutely loved it though and killed the rest of my dish that I couldn't finish. Most of the group had the lamb ragu orecchiette and thought it was quite good. Both burrata appetizers were really good and thoroughly liked by the table. Service was attentive and we were never rushed. I really enjoyed that the restaurant wasn't super crowded. There were other tables but they were far away enough that we didn't feel like we were on top of each other.

A quick TikTok search led us to this little gem, and it ended up being the perfect choice for our group. The restaurant is small, cozy, and has such a welcoming feel. We ordered several things to share, which I loved because it gave everyone the chance to try a little bit of everything. The pasta was definitely the star of the meal. It was perfectly chewy and cooked just right--not overcooked or mushy. Honestly, the pasta deserved a show of its own! We also enjoyed the focaccia and the bread-and-butter spread, which were both delicious. The chicken, however, wasn't my favorite. If I had to order it again, I probably would have skipped it and just focused on the pasta and other dishes. My cousin also ordered a pizza, and it looked absolutely delicious and filling. There was plenty to go around, and we even had leftovers to enjoy later. Overall, this was such a great find, especially for a group with different tastes and dietary preferences. The space was not large, but they really made the most of it, offering a decent number of tables with reasonable space between them. My friend and I were quickly seated and immediately greeted by a charming server that opened our bottle of wine (it's BYO) and offered us still or sparkling water. I had read in other reviews that you had to pay for water, so I was not surprised by the $6 bottle of Saratoga that wound up on our bill. In addition to our engaging server and the happening atmosphere, the food was similarly incredible. We decided to order a load of things to share, so that we could try a greater variety. We started with two appetizers that were seasonal Spring additions to the menu. The Hamachi Crudo included five thickly-sliced, tender pieces of Japanese yellowtail sitting in a broth of rhubarb aguachile and topped with white strawberries and basil seeds. It was an unique blend that we would not have expected to work, but boy was it delicious! The sweet toppings infused a load of flavor into an otherwise mild fish. We also enjoyed the Fava-mole, a creamy puree of fava beans studded with balls of hand-pulled mozzarella and pea tendrils, all drizzled with zesty ramp oil. I had not been sure what to expect from the dish, but it offered fresh, bright garden flavors. We also decided to share a pasta course and an entree. The Fettuccini was tossed with spring truffles and maitakes in a light, yet heavily aromatic, wild mushroom cream sauce. It was one of the best dishes I had had in quite some time. Then, as we were waiting on our seafood entree, we received a second pasta, courtesy of the Chef. I had mentioned that I had heard rave reviews about Flour from a server at Heirloom Kitchen, a top NJ restaurant. Apparently, our waiter had let the Chef know about that glowing praise, and the kitchen further verified that positivity with the generous gesture. In fact, they wound up sending out the Linguine with white clam sauce, razor clams, and wild ramps, the other dish about which I had been most curious anyway. Well, it was another winner! It was garlicky, herbaceous, and rich with flavors of the sea. Speaking of seafood, we next received the Branzino 'Bahn mi', a perfectly cooked piece of Mediterranean sea bass with Vietnamese sausage and pickled vegetables. The branzino's crispy skin and flaky, moist interior were excellent, and we loved all of the other smoky and briny flavors on the plate. After all of that excellent food, we would have loved to try one of their appealing desserts, but we were just too full. Between the ambiance, welcoming vibe, and delicious cuisine, our Flour experience was simply divine! It has now became one of my favorite restaurants in the area, and I cannot wait to try their pizza at some point as well.

I was a big fan of both, especially the ricotta, which was so incredibly creamy. For the mains, everyone's fresh-made pasta was excellent. I ordered the Mexican street corn, which was unique, flavorful, and delicious. I also tried some of the spicy rigatoni and loved it. We ended the night with the s'mores dessert, which was rich and chocolatey. Also, the fact that the restaurant is BYOB is a huge plus! The only downside was that I lost an item during our visit. I had a really hard time finding their contact information online, so I had to go back in person to ask about it, which was a bit annoying. Ultimately, they weren't able to recover it, but the food itself was still outstanding.
