We rented a big slide pontoon. It was in great shape and we had plenty of room. They scheduled our boat to arrive back in at 1 with the previous rental and our rental started at 1. That meant we launched at 1:28. The man at the dock was nice about saying we could take an extra 15 minutes on our outing, I think they should have have the system set to have the rentals give 1/2 hr between to make sure the groups are not standing around waiting with a group of little kids in tow. That was the only negative in our day. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Every one of them was smiling. There was not a great deal for them to do except explain the rules to you, which they did well. Once you arrive you need to clean out the boat and carry your lifejackets back to the tent. (very reasonable request) You should bring cash to tip or you can check a percentage box on the last iPad you are given to sign. Have cash on hand to pay for the gas that you used when you arrive back on the dock, or you will be charged a 3% card charge. We had a spectacular day on the lake, so much fun. Much of the credit goes to the weather but this rental was perfect for our needs. If you have kids - spring for the extra money and get the slide! read more

Garbage boat and dismissive, unhelpful staff... please read and see pictures. Also, if the front desk was even slightly helpful/kind... this would not be even written as a review right now. The young girl at the front desk emphasized the boat we were on is their STANDARD rental. So definitely read below to read about this places STANDARD. (Aka a duct tape run down boat). We rented boats at Pocono action sports on July 19th 2021 and July 20 2021. The first day we rented a "premium pontoon" and we had no issues. Friendly staff and no issues with the boat. Day 2 we showed up and walked down to the dock and the boat they put us on looked 1) unsafe 2) it was disgusting and literally held together with duct tape. The young kid who honestly... i felt bad for him for having to deliver this boat... tried to start the boat and it didn't start well. When we tried to turn it off while out it kept going longer then it should have even without the key in. Weird. There was mildew/mold in the cabinets so they were unusable. The cushions were torn apart. And the staff simply did not care. After leaving the no wake zone we picked up speed and quickly realized the windshields were not properly attached and they were flying around. UNSAFE. After the boat ride we went up to the front desk to talk to them about the quality of the boat they rented us. They were both very dismissive and simply did not care that the boat they gave us probably cost 2x the amount we paid to rent it for a day. Basically, they were happy we had fun and made it back alive... thats the standard. You arrive back in one piece. What a fun day! lol. Pricing: We rented the "standard ski boat" on a Tuesday. Total: $590.74 The "premium ski boat" on a Friday (which we did not rent but for price comparison) : $646.60 and The "premium pontoon" we rented on a Monday: $671.30 The fact that the beautiful premium pontoon is less then a $100 difference is crazy. Simply put, the boat we got was maybe worth $200 for the day. And honestly, with the unhelpful staff... maybe $50. read more

This was a 1st experience for me in both being at this particular establishment and renting a boat to sail myself! I want that excited about the idea of steering it. But thanks to Zeik's unique ability to converse with us and explain a plethora of things related to steering, accelerating and regulations for speed in and out of the docking area.... Beware of renting from them a bunch of crooks and liars. A day after we rented a bunch of charges came up on cc. Called them and they claimed the boat was damaged. "Conveniently" didn't mention anything when we returned it rather waiting until the next day so they can make up anything they want. Don't rent from them if you don't want to be robbed!! read more

This place is straight garbage. Avoid at all costs as your safety will be in jeopardy. -Our boat was completely duck tapped together. Yes, duck tapped together. -The boat was not cleaned and there was broken glass left in the boat with my two year old child who cut her foot. -Late in the day, the boat's engine DIED and we drifted aimlessly towards large rocks where everyone on board had to grab polls to push off the enormous rocks to save the boat from being destroyed while we waited for help to arrive. -Why didn't we anchor to save ourselves from hitting the rocks, you ask? Well, there was NO anchor on board, so we couldn't do anything to prevent the boat from drifting into the rocks. We had to save the boat and ourselves. -Another boat had to rescue us. Eventually the staff came to drag us back to the marina. What was the management's response to this awful day with the duck-tapped, glass-filled, no anchor, and faulty-engine rental boat that WE as the customers, (with children on board we may add) prevented from being further destroyed? Current Management's shocking response, "You had a good day, didn't you? Here's $100 back" What a joke of an operation. This is the current management, not the prior one. Oh, and by the way, everyone of the locals in the area knows it as well and if you happen to bump into them at the supermarket, they will tell you the same. read more

The speed boat we rented for the day had the engine stop after a few hours on the water. After being abandoned it managed to work again, but not after apparently the help went to a completely different part of the lake. They did end up reimbursing us and the time on the boat other than that was a good time. The next day we rented a pontoon boat, and while it worked fine, we needed help troubleshooting because the safety was on which stopped the engine. So we had waited about 30+ minutes to actually get started that day, upside is they came to the right boat. Overall the experience was fine when it was working well and unfortunately they're a bit short staffed right now. read more

DO NOT USE! DECEPTIVE .You Cannot Rent Two Items in the same day, 5 PM Cutoff or $100/hr over. I reserved a pontoon and a jet ski for the day. (THEY TOOK MY RESERVATION. AND MY MONEY, FOR THE TWO ITEMS, BUT NEVER SAID ANYTHING ABOUT NOT BEING ABLE TO TAKE THE BOAT AND THE JET SKI, WOW) They tried to tell me that I had to take the jet ski out first before I could take the pontoon. Then they said I could not have both out at the same time, even if there were other drivers for the pontoon. So I had to tell them another person that might take the jet ski. This was our second time here, the lady (I think she was a boss) held my hand and helped me get from the dock to the boat. She also didn't like the first boat that was picked for us so she said "can we put them on a better one". She really cared about our experience. You get what you pay for. Pocono Action Sports had the best rates for renting a powerboat, but the boat was a piece of crap. It ran fine, but each of the seats was torn and mildewed and it looked like it hadn't been cleaned after the last renters. There were pennies strewn on the floor and my daughter stepped on a screw. When we returned the boat there were only two young men to help out and several boats waiting for gas/service. It didn't see to be very well managed. read more

I paid a lot of money for a ski boat rental. What I received looked like a ship-wreck of mostly torn vinyl, broken seats and mold. I was very embarrassed as I rented for my families enjoyment. My wife emailed Pocono Action Sports / Lighthouse Harbor Marina but they only ignored us. I posted pictures of the rental on their website trying to elicit some response which I know they saw. since they deleted them numerous times without any comment. I wish I only received some apology or explanation from them so I didn't have to make this so public! read more

A group of ten of us rented a pontoon boat here and had a blast. The staff was very helpful with getting us set up and out on the water safely. However, the 70 HP Pontoon boat provided to us was falling apart. The metal framing on the front of the pontoon was hanging off in the water from the wood rotting underneath. It was held on by one side with 2 screws that were falling out, and we found 3 screws from elsewhere to secure the metal ourselves. The staff said "Yeah, it's an old boat, but at least she runs." We rented a tube, and the rope provided to us wasn't long enough to allow us to turn the motor when the tube was in use. Also, the hooks on the deck were ripping out, so when someone was on the tube we heard cracks from the rotting wood underneath. We had to Macgyver up the rope so it wouldn't damage the boat or restrict the motor. The ladder was rigged to stay up with an old buggyboard velcro strap that kept falling off. We were not provided with an anchor, tow ropes, bumpers. On the way back, we were running late so we called to make them aware and the owner said it would be okay and they may not charge us because we called. When we got back - she was the one ringing us up and she rehashed her statement and charged us $100.00 for being 40 min late - $50 for each 1/2 hour lateness. Whatever, we had a blast, but they should have paid us for fixing things on their boat. All in All, we didn't care about the problems with the boat provided to us because we are all handy men, but thought we would get something nicer for $500.00 considering they have 50+ boats on their property. I'm not sure I would rent here again, I'd probably try another location to see if they had a better boat they were renting out for the money. read more

I simply cannot say enough about the staff and quality of service that I received on Sunday August 16th. Everyone from the desk at check in to pick up the boat to the person who filled up the tank with gas at the end of the trip was professional and courteous and just lovely. The owners--Eric and his wife were so great and seemed to really care about us having fun!! My friends cannot stop talking about the great time we had and we will surely be back again and again. read more

I had such a great experience at Pocono Action Sports. The staff was so helpful and friendly. We rented two kayaks that were in great condition. They came with a device that you could pedal with your feet which was a really nice addition. The views from the marina are beautiful and it was a great time. I will definitely rent from them again. read more
