They were all sitting around laughing and talking and clearly were just waiting for us to leave so they could go home early. We saw a bunch of staff leaving early as we were getting to our car. My poor kid was hysterical crying ON HIS BIRTHDAY! WHY would they tell us to come after his slot when it would be "closed"?! I'm so upset for him, this was really messed up to do to a kid. There's an optional Black course at the end that we ran out of time so we ended up having to get lowered down. Our group took longer during the obstacle course intro area which was counted towards the time. The driver even came over to see what the hold up was. So we began on the actual course late. You're packed tightly into a van and driven up to the start of the Treetop Adventure. I've done another Zipline course excursion before and it included a lot of hiking whereas this one was pretty minimal. It definitely differed in safety. There seemed to only be one size harness and no one was weighed or height measured. One of the kids in the group definitely struggled to reach things. Since we were in the back we ended up helping people. Which I don't mind, I'm all for lending a hand. But on the other excursion I did there were two employees, one in the front and one in the back and I feel like that would've streamlined the process to move quicker. It was pretty inconsistent whether the instructor was in the front, back, or middle of the group. I also wish there had been some organization with the order of the group. There was another couple where the lady had done this course multiple times before and the instructor told her to go first. But the kids/teenagers wanted to be in the front of the line. They tended to be slower which slowed down the process. The kids pushed to go first and then their families followed so we ended up being stuck in the back. And the instructor didn't really enforce things. Like at the end with the optional Black course you have to get up this tricky ladder in order to be allowed on the course. You get two tries. The teen in front of us struggled and said he wanted to stop but ended up being helped up his second try, just to be immediately let down once he got up on the initial platform. Since we were running late on time my husband and I stood at the front to try to get on this last obstacle course first but the teens ended up rushing in front of us so we were again at the end. 5 of us ended up having to be let down due to time. I wasn't a huge fan of that since she actually lowered us right into a bush and I got a bunch of bug bites. Things largely depend on the group. Things just went slowly for our's and besides the ending 3 people had to be let down by the instructor (which is pretty time consuming). Another disappointing thing were the ziplines. They were pretty short and there were also some where everyone (including the instructor) stopped short and had to pull themselves to the end. At one the instructor even stayed behind to push a younger girl to help her make it further but she also stopped short. The lady who had done the courses before said she's never seen it happen this frequently. I think the lines were too slack. There's water coolers scattered around the course but no paper cups. So bring a backpack or fanny pack with a bottle. Also the lodge lost power when we got back. And we had a longer drive back so it made for an interesting bathroom visit at the end..

Read on for details of visit: We are in town visiting for our honeymoon and decided to take some time to do the UTV rides and mountain coaster. Bought tickets ahead of time online. Got tickets for coaster at 11am and UTV at 1. Website said to arrive 30 mins ahead of UTV ride and to fill waivers out online. Cool no problem. Got a phone call and an email day prior the mountain coaster will not be running for previously unplanned maintenance and I can refund my tickets or get a pass to the slide or zip line. We were bummed and decided to go with the refund. No signs driving in were very clear on where we go for the UTV eventually found the right area. Parked arrived at 12:15-12:20. Asked someone sitting by where the waivers can be filled out, where we go to check in for UTV he pointed us around the corner to the counter but never mentioned needing waivers. Checked in for our UTV ride and a guy printed me a ticket for 12:00 UTV which at this point it was after 12. Asked him where do we go to wait he just stated over there. No clear direction. No signs posted "UTV rides wait here" we walked around asked the girl sitting on her phone behind the counter of the very sad quite empty snack bar she told us to wait at these tables. At this time is 12:30 which was the time stated we needed the be there. 1pm no one came around. Started to think maybe we are not in the right spot. Found an older lady she said we needed bracelets for the waivers and the UTV was outside around the corner. Went back to the first guy we talked to and got our bracelets by telling the guy we filled them out online and stated our ride is for 1pm he said wait at the tables in snack bar. Sat down waited till 1:15 still nothing. Went back up to the ticket counter spoke with a girl. She stated there is no 1pm UTV and the website must have messed up. She stated she could refund or give us a spot in the 2pm ride. Well we already waited and decided to stay. Told us to wait at the tables in the snack bar and they come like 10mins til to fit you for helmet. 1:50 came and a girl and guy came in asked for copy of license and fitted us for helmets. Over heard that they have 5 groups for this ride. We were the only ones there. They walked around outside and found 1 other couple. We told them there is no clear direction for where to gather they stated yeah we hear that a lot. The two young adults that took us on the ride were great. The ride itself was definitely something for kids to enjoy. It wasn't awful it was just circles over these trail paths they made. We left a little after 2pm maybe 2:15 rode around stopped for a break at a photo spot at 2:55-3pm and rode little more. Ride was 2-4pm we came back in at 3:30ish. I was okay being done by then riding the same path over and over got old. Some spots were beautiful most spots had park equipment on the sides of the path. So you could tell you are just riding the same path over and over. I will not come back this place it is not what it could be and maybe used to be amazing at one point. Seems like kids are just running this place and no body cares about it functioning properly. I'd hate to see the waterpark part of this place or the lodging. Was not impressed if I knew I would have never wasted my money or time.

(On Father's Day, no less. When I was hoping I could keep up with my kids and at least finish the "advanced elevation" course.) That being said... we had an absolute blast. (Myself and the Mrs. were beaten and bruised and battered and sore afterwards, but we loved it.) The weather wasn't ideal (cold and rainy) but I think that was a blessing in disguise. The workers and guides were all incredible. (They were all supportive, friendly, and passionate about the adventure we were about to jump into.) Each course got a wee bit higher and more challenging and within the actual course I appreciated their 'method to the madness' - they'd break up the taxing (physical) stuff with a zipline as a 'breather' before you had to start to hustle again on some crazy shifting logs or cargo netting. As someone with a bit of experience over the years (ziplining at Hunter Mountain, Ausable Chasm in the Adirondacks, TreeEscape at Mt. Creek) FLG X was by far the most exacting. (But take that with a grain of salt... if you're not in the AARP age range - like myself - you might have a blast and be able to reach the Black Course, including those daunting monkey bars!) Worth every penny, for sure. (Pro tip: make sure you bring or buy a pair of rugged gloves... they're essential.) "GUIDE! GUIDE! GUIDE!"

Im also horrified of heights but i was determined I went through a brief video about the corse and some safety. The young lady from the desk gave a excellent training on safety and proper use of the equipment Then my wife and i was introduced to Matthew our guide Matthew explained everything step by step as we went along My wife had plenty of experience and with Matthew we felt safe for myself and my wife I took my time climbing the latter and Matthew assured me i secured and safe He really gained my trust . I had to take my time and rest for two to five min at a time and Matthew really gave me the confidence i needed to continue Im 60 years old i not old but iam a little broken lol I was a little dehydrated i needed water i thought i was in trouble but no Matthew asked one of the other highly trained staff to get me a bottle of water After that i zipped a few times with no issues i was doing really good. But my arms were going dull because of some prior injuries Matthew helped go down the ladder and i was ok Matthew is a very calm individual professional who knows what he is doing you can tell he had the best training. He really made my experience great I have to add it wasn't very busy so thank god The staff is excellent and these young men and women run a tight ship safety is their priority and second is for their guest to enjoy themselves. The zip line course is great for any level my wife said this was the best one yet and she has been to many. If i can do it i think most people can to Use common sense, listen to the guides they are there for you I cant ever do this ever again because of my injuries of a bad accident i had in 2011 but this was on my bucket list I always wanted to scuba dive but that dream is only a dream But i got to zip line and at no point at all i wasn't in any kind of danger Thank you Matthew for doing your job above and beyond of any on my expectations The harness and the clips and all the safety equipment are the best . You have to listen to the guides have common courtesy and have patience and use the equipment properly and pay attention to what you are doing Its not all to difficult trust me im not to bright and i had a great time Matthew you are a true champ and you will succeed anything you do. ***3 1/2 stars***…read more This was my first time ziplining outside of a random high school gym class and I could tell it's something I'd love doing in the future. The problem is that the Mountain Creek setup is less than ideal and in my opinion not the best bang for your buck or time. The Millennial Chum and I attended the 10:30am session yesterday just after Mountain Creek opened. Would definitely recommend going at that time - parking in this area is a chaotic nightmare, which we experienced on our way out around 1pm, but thankfully avoided the drama coming in. If you're not familiar with the resort and the parking situation, try to allocate some additional time; there's multiple parking lots, some of them aren't open at the same times and they're not monitored particularly well by the staff so people go rogue and create a third row in the lots that there really isn't room for. I literally broke a sweat backing out of here. The staff at Zip Tours is fantastic and by far by the biggest selling point here. We had Cooper and Meg (I think?) as our guides, both of whom were super professional and personable. Cooper was blasting some Good Charlotte about halfway through on his mini speaker so now the Millennial Chum and I are officially back into turn-of-the-century pop punk. I am absolutely derp level when it comes to straps (airplane seat belts, bras, you name it), and everyone was very patient with me and basically just did all of the buckling and strapping while I just stood there like Ed from the Lion King. The instructions for the actual ziplining and positioning the body for landing at the other end were easy to understand and it didn't take long for everyone in the group to be acclimated, regardless of experience/background. The session/class was two hours long, and involved four ziplines. The first is the short training line down at the bottom of the ski lift. After that, you go up the ski lift to the top of the mountain and do the other three, which are basically crisscrossing one of the lakes at the top of Vernon Peak. After completing the four lines, you navigate across a narrow suspension bridge to an ATV/trailer/truck - I'm sure there's an obvious, much better term for it - that takes you back to the ski lift to wrap up the adventure. My favorite was the second line, which is the longest and offers the best views. I hike up mountains on a pretty regular basis so heights aren't much of a concern, but I DO get queasy on aggressive rollercoasters so that was a mild caveat in the back of my mind. This wasn't an issue at all; there's no significant dropdowns and the speed isn't that fast. I will say though that the landing can be a little abrupt/hard at the end, which they mitigate as much as they can with this cushioning spring system. Probably given the height/distance, the second line had the most intense landing, but it wasn't egregious. Would have hated to be one of the metaphorical test dummies when they were figuring that system out though. Here's the main problem - it's two hours for four ziplines, one of which is a very short training line that takes about five seconds if I had to guess. The actual ziplining is minimal (and maybe that's just the nature of the beast - it doesn't take long to zip down a line) and a huge chunk of that two hours is you just standing around waiting for other people to go down the line. Probably the best way to fix that is to either slash the class size in half (which I'm guessing they don't want to do because they'd be leaving a sizeable chunk of money on the table) or investing in adding another one or two lines at each stop to speed up the process. I have no idea how feasible that is from a financial or logistics perspective but it did look like there was room to do so if it came to it. Another issue (and I think this is more on the company overall and not the guides) is that they allowed three people who were late to join us, and they caused delays as well. The rules on the website clearly say that if you're late you're going to get slotted into the next available session, but they made an accommodation for them. It honestly wouldn't have been a big deal, but these guys were pretty disruptive and self-centered. One of them had a loud Go Pro that he kept turning on and off and he even asked one of the guides to confirm it was recording. It might be too extreme to ban those devices especially given the type of activity you're doing, but it was a definite distraction. The other two were intermittently making out and filming the rest of us; that latter part I think arguably should have been shot down by the guides or cited in the rules. You want to film yourself or the scenery? Fine, but I think it's pretty douchey to film the rest of us without permission. Your mileage may vary. I don't regret doing it, but I'd like to try this at a different venue with longer ziplines and less wait times.

I'm not sure if that's due to staff shortage or mismanaging the staff but it was chaotic checking in. The staff that was there was doing their best and friendly but it didn't set the tone that this was going to be a smoothly executed experience which is important when doing an activity where safety is very important. Second, the amount of waiting you do verse actually zipping is way out of portion. The group moves together so you have to wait for all 15 people in your group to go before going and waiting at the next zip. There is also only 4 zips. So for a two hour tour that can tell you how long you wait for. The best thing about this tour is the basket harness you get strapped into. It made it more comfortable and less strenuous when you hit the breaks. The guides did try to make it fun and were willing to take your picture too which was very much appreciated. I do not recommend this zip tour at the end of the day however.

Things to know: -GG is only open for the summer season -hours are 10am to 6pm (weather permitting) -no WiFi -free parking -you will be required to sign a digital waiver -you will be limited to a 2 hour time slot and reservations are not necessary -there is a cute little train that can take you to/from the main resort building to GG -picnic tables if you want to bring lunch -benches if you want to bring people to watch you complete the course -there are cold beverages, candy, ice cream, tshirts, shoes, shorts, etc for purchase The reason I am docking a star is because the course is very expensive. $65 for the ropes course (2 hour timeframe) and a $15 bonus zip line add on. Also laser tag randomly was paused for 2 hours with no advance notice which was a bummer.

They even had a full size kitchen, where the omlet was one of the best. These pierogi's had cheddar cheese onion and green pepper. We were the first people in line. By the time they opened up, started their computer system and found our reservations it was about 10:30am. The people behind us were getting very impatient and annoying. They basically have courses set up for you to test your balance from tree to tree. I think it's harder than it looks. All the times you watched ninja warrior or something similar and thought that you could do it, you're probably wrong. I think it's a cool experience to try. They have separate courses for adults and kids. The courses were clean and safe. The staff was friendly and the prices are reasonable. The zip lining wasn't that exciting but it wasn't much money to add on.
