***3 1/2 stars***…read more This was my first time ziplining outside of a random high school gym class and I could tell it's something I'd love doing in the future. The problem is that the Mountain Creek setup is less than ideal and in my opinion not the best bang for your buck or time. The Millennial Chum and I attended the 10:30am session yesterday just after Mountain Creek opened. Would definitely recommend going at that time - parking in this area is a chaotic nightmare, which we experienced on our way out around 1pm, but thankfully avoided the drama coming in. If you're not familiar with the resort and the parking situation, try to allocate some additional time; there's multiple parking lots, some of them aren't open at the same times and they're not monitored particularly well by the staff so people go rogue and create a third row in the lots that there really isn't room for. I literally broke a sweat backing out of here. The staff at Zip Tours is fantastic and by far by the biggest selling point here. We had Cooper and Meg (I think?) as our guides, both of whom were super professional and personable. Cooper was blasting some Good Charlotte about halfway through on his mini speaker so now the Millennial Chum and I are officially back into turn-of-the-century pop punk. I am absolutely derp level when it comes to straps (airplane seat belts, bras, you name it), and everyone was very patient with me and basically just did all of the buckling and strapping while I just stood there like Ed from the Lion King. The instructions for the actual ziplining and positioning the body for landing at the other end were easy to understand and it didn't take long for everyone in the group to be acclimated, regardless of experience/background. The session/class was two hours long, and involved four ziplines. The first is the short training line down at the bottom of the ski lift. After that, you go up the ski lift to the top of the mountain and do the other three, which are basically crisscrossing one of the lakes at the top of Vernon Peak. After completing the four lines, you navigate across a narrow suspension bridge to an ATV/trailer/truck - I'm sure there's an obvious, much better term for it - that takes you back to the ski lift to wrap up the adventure. My favorite was the second line, which is the longest and offers the best views. I hike up mountains on a pretty regular basis so heights aren't much of a concern, but I DO get queasy on aggressive rollercoasters so that was a mild caveat in the back of my mind. This wasn't an issue at all; there's no significant dropdowns and the speed isn't that fast. I will say though that the landing can be a little abrupt/hard at the end, which they mitigate as much as they can with this cushioning spring system. Probably given the height/distance, the second line had the most intense landing, but it wasn't egregious. Would have hated to be one of the metaphorical test dummies when they were figuring that system out though. Here's the main problem - it's two hours for four ziplines, one of which is a very short training line that takes about five seconds if I had to guess. The actual ziplining is minimal (and maybe that's just the nature of the beast - it doesn't take long to zip down a line) and a huge chunk of that two hours is you just standing around waiting for other people to go down the line. Probably the best way to fix that is to either slash the class size in half (which I'm guessing they don't want to do because they'd be leaving a sizeable chunk of money on the table) or investing in adding another one or two lines at each stop to speed up the process. I have no idea how feasible that is from a financial or logistics perspective but it did look like there was room to do so if it came to it. Another issue (and I think this is more on the company overall and not the guides) is that they allowed three people who were late to join us, and they caused delays as well. The rules on the website clearly say that if you're late you're going to get slotted into the next available session, but they made an accommodation for them. It honestly wouldn't have been a big deal, but these guys were pretty disruptive and self-centered. One of them had a loud Go Pro that he kept turning on and off and he even asked one of the guides to confirm it was recording. It might be too extreme to ban those devices especially given the type of activity you're doing, but it was a definite distraction. The other two were intermittently making out and filming the rest of us; that latter part I think arguably should have been shot down by the guides or cited in the rules. You want to film yourself or the scenery? Fine, but I think it's pretty douchey to film the rest of us without permission. Your mileage may vary. I don't regret doing it, but I'd like to try this at a different venue with longer ziplines and less wait times.

I'm not sure if that's due to staff shortage or mismanaging the staff but it was chaotic checking in. The staff that was there was doing their best and friendly but it didn't set the tone that this was going to be a smoothly executed experience which is important when doing an activity where safety is very important. Second, the amount of waiting you do verse actually zipping is way out of portion. The group moves together so you have to wait for all 15 people in your group to go before going and waiting at the next zip. There is also only 4 zips. So for a two hour tour that can tell you how long you wait for. The best thing about this tour is the basket harness you get strapped into. It made it more comfortable and less strenuous when you hit the breaks. The guides did try to make it fun and were willing to take your picture too which was very much appreciated. I do not recommend this zip tour at the end of the day however.

The staff were super friendly and helpful to both my daughters who are on the younger side (5 and 8). They were even conscientious enough to notice that I could not go on all the courses with both of them given their age difference and the owner (Lori) offered to watch my younger daughter for a short period of time so I could help my older daughter. Both my daughters were smiling the entire time, and it was great to see their confidence grow when they finished a course. If you're looking for a fun adventurous day, this a a must visit.

(On Father's Day, no less. When I was hoping I could keep up with my kids and at least finish the "advanced elevation" course.) That being said... we had an absolute blast. (Myself and the Mrs. were beaten and bruised and battered and sore afterwards, but we loved it.) The weather wasn't ideal (cold and rainy) but I think that was a blessing in disguise. The workers and guides were all incredible. (They were all supportive, friendly, and passionate about the adventure we were about to jump into.) Each course got a wee bit higher and more challenging and within the actual course I appreciated their 'method to the madness' - they'd break up the taxing (physical) stuff with a zipline as a 'breather' before you had to start to hustle again on some crazy shifting logs or cargo netting. As someone with a bit of experience over the years (ziplining at Hunter Mountain, Ausable Chasm in the Adirondacks, TreeEscape at Mt. Creek) FLG X was by far the most exacting. (But take that with a grain of salt... if you're not in the AARP age range - like myself - you might have a blast and be able to reach the Black Course, including those daunting monkey bars!) Im also horrified of heights but i was determined I went through a brief video about the corse and some safety. The young lady from the desk gave a excellent training on safety and proper use of the equipment Then my wife and i was introduced to Matthew our guide Matthew explained everything step by step as we went along My wife had plenty of experience and with Matthew we felt safe for myself and my wife I took my time climbing the latter and Matthew assured me i secured and safe He really gained my trust . I had to take my time and rest for two to five min at a time and Matthew really gave me the confidence i needed to continue Im 60 years old i not old but iam a little broken lol I was a little dehydrated i needed water i thought i was in trouble but no Matthew asked one of the other highly trained staff to get me a bottle of water After that i zipped a few times with no issues i was doing really good. But my arms were going dull because of some prior injuries Matthew helped go down the ladder and i was ok Matthew is a very calm individual professional who knows what he is doing you can tell he had the best training. He really made my experience great I have to add it wasn't very busy so thank god The staff is excellent and these young men and women run a tight ship safety is their priority and second is for their guest to enjoy themselves. The zip line course is great for any level my wife said this was the best one yet and she has been to many. If i can do it i think most people can to Use common sense, listen to the guides they are there for you I cant ever do this ever again because of my injuries of a bad accident i had in 2011 but this was on my bucket list I always wanted to scuba dive but that dream is only a dream But i got to zip line and at no point at all i wasn't in any kind of danger Thank you Matthew for doing your job above and beyond of any on my expectations The harness and the clips and all the safety equipment are the best . TEP deserves more than 5 stars for the amazing start to finish service we experienced on our 7 day…read moreadventure to Peru to hike the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. From the time we signed up, to the time we boarded the plane to return home, TEP took care of every detail. We commented amongst ourselves that we felt like kids on vacation with our parents, as we didn't have to worry about any of the details - just show up and follow Neptali (our guide). From airport pickup in Cusco in luxury Mercedes vans where we were promptly served Coca tea to help with the altitude acclimation, to group dinners at amazing Peruvian restaurants, to historical tours and education on the history of the Inca - everything was covered and taken care of for us. And that was all before the amazing trek along the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu! Of course the trek itself was the highlight of the trip, and although it was extremely challenging for us, TEP's unbelievable attention to detail did not fail us on the trail. With nearly a 2:1 porter to trekker ration, our every need was met on the trail. We dined like kings every meal, and were consistently amazed with the quality (and nutritional appropriateness) of the food our chef and sous chef were able to put out with minimal kitchen conveniences. The thing I felt was most special about TEP's approach to this trip was the focus on gaining a cultural and historical appreciation for what we were experiencing. Every step along the way, we learned about the native people of Peru, the Inca civilization, the many ruins we came across, the vegetation we saw and how it was and is used, and the history of modern Peru. It was the trip of a lifetime, and have the help of The Explorer's Passage made it so much more enjoyable, and so much more memorable. The value of what they provide is amazing for the cost....rather, for the investment. I highly recommend them!

Our guide was professional, knowledgeable, and supportive- he talked a couple of us through some of the harder obstacles. We took the full two hours after the training and completed 5 courses. Our favorites were the ZipQuest (9 ziplines) and the Blue level course, which is the second hardest. The Blue course was challenging even for the college athlete of the group- definitely takes some athleticism and ability to be calm under pressure. If that's not your jam, I would still recommend. The three easier obstacle courses and the ZipQuest course were still very fun and would be a good challenge for families with younger kids. Minimum age was 7 with a 50-250lb weight range. I highly recommend this experience to anyone in the area!!

Her kindness and confidence turned what could have been a stressful moment into a positive experience. A few weeks later, we returned to the park and unexpectedly saw Madison again while waiting in line. To our surprise, she immediately remembered both of us -- even my son's name. That simple gesture meant so much and instantly made him feel comfortable and excited to be there again. Madison goes above and beyond in every sense. She is professional, personable, attentive, and clearly cares about the guests she helps. Employees like her are rare, and she is the kind of person who makes families want to come back. There is a seating area where you can have a snack or you can walk the paths. The surrounding area is a beautiful park. They put in your harness, that doesn't smell bad, show a video and you are off to the course. It is difficult to fall off because the harnesses will not allow you to completely disconnect both attachment points. There are multiple height levels for beginners to experts. If you get scared or tired you can exit early. Kids love it, they have fun night packages and they do holiday stuff with lights. They have vending machines but bring snacks and water. Wear boots or trail sneakers and comfortable clothes. I recommend this place.

There is also a tent area and tables if you bring your own lunch to have a picnic up top. Depending on the time of year, dress according to higher elevation and cooler temp inside the woods. They weren't open yet when we arrived, so we waited 15 minutes for them to prep the courses. There are picnic tables and port-a-potties available for use at the entrance. One of the employees got us all checked in and provided gloves, which were free since the tickets were purchased via Groupon. You can choose from small, medium, large or extra large sizes. We stood on the deck and got our harnesses on and tightened by an employee. He went over some safety rules and we completed a trial course to ensure we understood the procedures for zip lining. Once he cleared us, we were free to navigate the park on our own! We started with course 2, then we moved on to course 4. After that we completed course 3 and finally course 1. Some of the courses were challenging but all of them were equally fun. It was a gloomy day so it wasn't busy and we felt like we could take our time completing each obstacle. The zip lining was especially thrilling and the harness is comfortable enough where you don't feel any pressure in your thighs. Treetop Quest was a blast and I hope to be back in the summer months!

We had pre-booked online and confirmed our reservations. Unfortunately my little one missed the cutoff to climb even on the chick pea course by a couple months. So we then still purchased the kids course gloves and took turns being a cheerleader with her. We also purchased gloves for ourselves which I highly recommend. We are then weighed in to make sure we are below the maximum required 250lbs weight. Then proceeded to harness fitting and course training area. Then we headed to the course 2A which was not for the faint of heart as we assumed it would be...hahaha. I witnessed a few rescues before actually going but I tried not to make that discourage me from partaking! It wasn't a hot day but found that I did sweat a lot due to the activity of course. The courses are level 1 (beginners), level 2 (moderate but with obstacles through the course and some zip lines), level 3 (mostly zip lines), 4 (most challenging course). We walked away feeling accomplished and proud of ourselves with the motto "I can do hard things"!

Reportedly, the children pulled each other out of the water when the raft capsized at a down tree in the river. So yelp asks what could be improved? Proper supervision. Offering people helmets even though they are not required. Perhaps a safety briefing like what to do if your raft capsizes. Appropriate staffing who try to help children in danger. This company's attitude toward safety is truly cavalier.

It's such an incredible place - with an almost overwhelming amount of Magnatiles lol - to activate children's creativity and imagination. The Magnatiles are helpfully sorted by color and shape in wooden bins. Kids can complete builds and challenges, and collect tokens to trade in for prizes. There were some pretty impressive structures in progress there. In addition to the main Magnatiles room, there is also a separate playroom with different activity stations and play/exploration areas, suited to younger kids. The recommended age range is 4-12, but my under-3 toddler had a great time as we play with Magnatiles at home and he loves them. He also spent some time in the playroom with the wooden train tracks and checking out various things to do. The admission charge for adults is slightly cheaper than the child pricing. A couple of parents - way more skilled and inventive than I - were building some pretty grand castles and towers as they waited while their kids played. The space is bright and clean, and the staff are very nice. For parents who don't wish to be "in the trenches" with their kids, there is a small cafe area with chairs and tables where they can hang out.
