My driveway camera clearly shows no driver showing up it covers a big portion of the street where i could see our other PODS delivered. PODS charged me 75 bucks for the driver to lie and say i said I wasnt ready. im out hundreds of dollars on movers because i hired them to help us unpack and keep the pod clear for the driver to do final pick up of PODS. When I called the first time customer service hung up on me when i was very calm and nice (like play the recorded phone call tape i have evidence i was kind and understanding. i fully appreciate customer service workers and was not trying to be rude.) i help people and seniors coordinate moves for a living. my next client needs 7 12ft containers. will NOT be using pods service i will find a more reliable company. also we have medical transport tomorrow so the driver bailing put my clients health at major risk. I have had this scheduled for over a month. Several chats with service and after plenty of confirmation emails the service was changed to drop the POD off the following day. I have movers scheduled. I specifically chose to have the weekend to fill the POD and I am moving next week! Movers can't reschedule and now I'm stuck. This is absolutely unbelievable. I have emailed higher support and will remove this in the event my POD is delivered BEFORE tomorrow AM at 11 am. Chat support, which is the only support I can now use after freaking 5pm on Friday says it's over an hour wait and then says "good luck" essentially. This is crazy. I've used PODs before and never experienced this. I did everything right for them to just do me wrong at the literal last minute. Edit 6/21 - I have now had $1751 placed on hold on my account as a pre authorization. The dang POD service is for less. 3 separate SUCCESSFUL attempts and I keep hearing "Idt whas declinned". Well it wasn't and support chat has an option to leave a photo and they can't see them. Very close to putting a chargeback as now I have to wait 3-5 days for the void? What are you voiding if it was declined? This seems like a scam. Will use the other services in the future and I suggest any one reading this do the same. We had move schedule nearly 2 months in advance and our Pods were dropped off right on schedule. When it came time to pick them up, they never showed up as schedule and when I called, after being on hold for over two hours, they finally rescheduled them for two days later. When it came time for that second pick up, they picked up one as scheduled, and the other is still sitting in the driveway. When I reached out to them, again after being on hold for a combined four hours, I was told that they could not pick it up until another week from now. I explained that this has been scheduled for over two months, but kept getting excuses on why they could not follow the schedule they made. To make it all worse when they tell me to log into my account for updates, the update said the pod was picked up yesterday. We need to still sitting in my driveway. Horrible company to deal with! Customer service is impossible to reach, their website is useless, & the employees are incompetent & barely speak or understand English. I spoke to 3 employees before our move to confirm that the shipment would go to our final location without me having to schedule anything in between and was told it would. After arriving at our new place I spent 2 days on the phone, because the website showed the POD was still at original pickup location, I was told that I had to schedule when it would leave the first location to get to the middle location, where it would then leave for our final location, and that it would be another 2 weeks before it arrives! We went from 7-9 days promised, to 3&1/2 weeks possible arrival. Just an awful company that should be reported to the BBB. The worst experience I've had during our renovation. Of course, the POD could be delivered exactly when we requested, but when we asked for it to be picked up, it took over 2 weeks of it sitting in our driveway. Hard to open the door and got charged for a whole month even though we called the next day to have it picked up. Then, were charged a pick up fee. All the stars aligned for my family to sell and purchase a new home during the midst of the Covid-19 new world. Typically we hire movers to pick everything up and take it to our new house however we did not feel comfortable about having strangers come in our house again during Clovid-19. So we researched and found PODS. We called on a Wednesday afternoon and a nice guy named Steve in Florida walked us through the ordering process, pricing and scheduled our multi- POD drops and pickups. They delivered our first set of PODS on a Monday. They were so on point; called 10 minutes ahead of time, showed up on time and got us setup in the most courteous and professional way. There were two drivers and one was a trainee. I couldn't tell b/c these guys were working as a team and like pros. They answered all my questions while going over tips and instructions. We have our next pick and drop off this weekend and I'm so confident that the rest of our move with PODS will be a breeze. they parked the pod in the street and we have plenty of video and pictures for proof. The police got involved they refused to move it the fist time the police called until the police called back explaining it will be towed. The same rude driver was forced back but instead of putting it in the drive way as instructed they took it with them and still charged for the drop and left us with nothing. The driver said his manager Tony instructed him to bring it back without return then he continued to state that he would be back in the morning to remove the other pod which we were still packing and paid for it with no scheduled pick up. Customer service protects the mangers and drivers. PODS customer service claimed we were in the wrong for not accepting the pod in the road even after the police made a report and called them not once but twice. The manager Tony from the Charlotte NC location was to call that day regarding why and how they can accept the actions of both driver and company and nothing. DO NOT use this company absolutely insane that anyone paying this much money should and ever be subject to this behavior from and company. Matter is still pending. The actual Pod itself was much needed and helpful during our renovation. Kept our belongings dry and safe. The delivery driver was phenomenal. Trying to get in touch with anyone at Pods is ridiculous! The only way to order/get a quote is on line yet their system to do so is faulty so when you finally (after 20 minutes) get through all the proms to speak with a real live person your completely frustrated. Just don't do it. Pay attention to the amount of 1 star reviews. When emptying of POD we found that the back corner was full of water. There were water stains on our couch and ruined a foam mattress. I filed a claim on 8/10/22 and as of today 10/13/22, no matter how many times I try to reach them, I cannot get a response, update, or payment from the PODS claim team. Beware that if something goes wrong, you may not ever get reimbursed from PODS. Poor service. Update 10-18-22: Pods sent me this denial for my claim: PODS has completed its investigation of your claim & we regret to inform you that we deny your claim as further explained below: We found that there was no physical damage to your unit and no other cause of loss was identified to suggest that something happened to the unit. A pressured water test confirmed negative for intrusion. This included allowing continuous water run over the roof and entire exterior of the container to detect leaking, to which there was none. I have a video showing over an inch of water in the back of the container that I shared with their claims dept. Where do they think that water came from? We will never use PODS again. It was a horrible experience. They made moving and placing the pods extremely stressful. Especially when trying to coordinate moving and packing services. The drivers didn't want to do their jobs and seemed to only care if you slipped them a $20.00. For the price we paid and hassle, we would have been better off hiring a moving company. If I could give them less than 1 star, I would. Pods has consistently underwhelmed with its complete and utter lack of customer service. Every time I thought it couldn't get any worse, it did. Pods was a great idea back in 2003. Today, there are so many other options available that if you decide to try to hit the "Easy" button like I did and go with Pods, you will regret it horribly. I've spent many hours on hold, trying to get orders adjusted. I'm not joking about many hours. Then I get someone in India who doesn't understand what I'm doing, goes off on their own and messes up the order, then disconnects me, and then I'm back on hold. Drivers show absolutely zero interest in answering delivery location needs. Facilities have no desire to satisfy customers and force you to argue with them for an afternoon in order to simply get the pod positioned correctly. Now my car is getting water damaged because my sunroof won't close and it's raining and I can't put my vehicle in my car garage. I recently used PODS for a move from North Carolina to Iowa. I received my POD in early July and just finished unboxing everything and wanted to share my experience. This review reflects an overall negative experience with PODS and it mostly has to do with three main factors. -Deceptive Advertising -Handling of Goods (broken items) -Price Deceptive advertising: When I began my PODS order I was informed that the entirety of the move could be accomplished in 1 to 2 weeks. I received my POD a few days after the initial order and spent the better part of a week packing it. I was told by both the phone salesman and the drop off driver to give PODS a call 2 DAYS IN ADVANCE of when I wanted it to be picked up and begin the cross-country shipping process. When I called I was told I would HAVE TO WAIT 7 DAYS for PODS to come pick up my package (5 days longer than what I was told). After the pick up PODS advertises that it would take 4-6 days for the actual shipping process, THE ACTUAL TIME PERIOD WAS 11 DAYS. This might not seem like that large of an issue but because I had other travel plans and flights built in around this already stressful time it greatly complicated my moving experience. Additionally I was living in my new home for two weeks without any furniture or the lions share of my possessions. IF YOU USE PODS BE PREPARED TO WAIT LONGER THAN WHAT YOU WERE TOLD. Handling of Goods: If it was only scheduling issues I would give this review three stars, however the worst part of my experience came when the POD arrived. When I opened my POD the items closest to the door were in good shape however the back fourth of the POD had numerous crushed boxes and many of my items in that section were broken. I am not a novice when it comes to moving (this is my 4th major move in 7 years), I know how to pack and followed the recommendations PODS gave. Given that the back quarter exhibited so much damage it was clear that while they display care of your goods during pick up and drop off, THEY ARE CARELESS WITH YOUR POSSESSIONS IN THEIR STORAGE FACILITIES. I have numerous photos and would include them if the review allowed. EXPECT ITEMS TO BE BROKEN OR DAMAGED IF USING PODS. Price: I payed a little over 2 grand for this move. If everything showed up on time and in good condition this would be a decent price. However when you look at other options the same move would have only cost me a little over 1000.00 if I had rented a UHAUL. If I could do it over again, I would go that route. CONCLUSION: I think PODS is a decent option if you are someone who feels really uncomfortable driving a larger vehicle, is moving more than 14 hours away, flexible on timeframe, can afford a few thousand dollar tab, and is okay with some of your belongings being broken. However if you are moving relatively close by and want to do things on your schedule and protect your belongings RENT A TRUCK AND DO IT YOURSELF. The whole moving experience with PODS has been almost as bad as you can get. The only positive was the convenience, which there are other companies out there that do the same so look to them. Problem #1) On delivery day at the old house, there were clear instructions to leave the POD on the right side of the driveway with the door facing the road, since the driveway extends up the side of the house. When it was delivered, the door was facing the back yard, also backed up to our fence so you could load some boxes but never any big furniture. When the employee came to turn the PODS around, issue #2 came about. Problem #2) When the gentleman came to turn the PODS to get it facing the correct way, he was getting ready to back the truck up under the "crane" and backed into the door, bending it so severely that the door was no longer able to be opened. Thankfully we hadn't had anything inside yet. So, we were forced to wait 2 more days to receive a new PODS. Due to the issues with the door facing the wrong way, I called customer service to ensure that when the PODS was picked up and transported to the new address, the door would be facing the garage (common sense, to make it easier for moving items.) This was repeated back to me several time during the call and also stated on the order document, very clearly. Problem #3) When the gentleman delivered the PODS to our new house, the door was facing the road, not the garage. The driveway is sloped with the high point being at the garage and low point being the road. As you can imagine, when the door is downhill, even with straps, items will be leaning against the door. When the movers arrived, it took them 30 minutes to very carefully and slowly open the door, removing items so nothing would fall and be damaged. When I called and spoke to customer service again, they refused to apologize for any inconvenience and the nice lady said they could refund a whole $25 to the card. Overall, the idea of PODS is great, however this specific company is absolutely one of the worst I have every dealt with and will never be returning to them again. Unfortunately, they will do nothing about this review so I will continue on, sharing this horrible experience, hoping anyone else will choose another option for their moving and storage needs. read more

The dates they chose were after the monthly storage billing date. They charged my card for the redelivery $216, monthly storage $409 and same day delivery $53. PODS Charlotte sent us a leaking container that ruined our sectional sofa. They tried to blame it on the water coming up through the bottom of the POD instead of the leaking roof. They must have passed over the pictures that show the top of the couch with stains on it. They're response has been completely unsatisfactory. Six months later their claim representative, Alex Leudy is completely unresponsive and beyond useless at actually resolving claims. It is clear his method is to drag this out as long as possible in hopes of me forgetting about it to minimize the expense of having to replace the item. We used this service in January for a move to South Carolina. This company is the most unethical company I have ever delt with. The only thing I can truly say about this company is, it has no morels or ethics at all. They promised the moon and stars and delivered nothing except bills. I have the paperwork to prove that I paid twice and even three times for the same service. You pay them or lose all of your belongings. One man told me that they do not have to return calls, all they have to do is placate you and get you off the phone. I never once received a return call from anyone from pods. Like another review i was told it would be 3 weeks to have my belongings brought from storage to my new address about 75 miles south. Quoted 700.00 to deliver which seems exorbitant. The customer service agent was unapologetic - I was told multiple times that this delay was the way it goes because of high demand in the summertime. People tend to move during summer! Moved here from PA. Never had an issue on either end. Pick up and delivery were great! In PA the one driver did ruin our grass when he came to pick up our loaded POD but he did call my husband to jet him know. It's grass, it grows back. We had our entire house stored w/PODS for 6 months and never an issue. Pricey but well worth it for us. We knew we can get to our stuff within 24 hours if needed. But never had to use that feature. Customer service is located in Florida and I even have used the "chat" feature. It was the best option for us since we did not have a house when we moved from PA. The drop off in N.C. was easy and the driver came earlier then expected for pick up. But he did call the husband to let him know. I highly recommend. This was a horrible experience. I will NEVER recommend this company. I moved from California to North Carolina at the beginning of August 2022. The facility in San Jose, CA was fine, they dropped off the container on the day and at the time scheduled. The container door was stuck so we had to pry it open. It was picked up on August 1st and delivered to the San Jose facility to be sent out to NC on August 2nd. The POD was supposed to arrive at my new house in NC on August 13th. We expected to live without our stuff for 4 - 5 days but on the evening of August 11th, I happened to see an email that said the delivery date had been rescheduled. I called to find out what was going on and was told that the POD had been delayed and that it would now be delivered on August 16th and for my inconvenience they would refund me $25. On August 15th I kept checking for the delivery time and never received anything so that evening I had to call again and was told that the schedule hadn't been updated and that the customer service person was issuing a request. I finally got a text around 11:00 PM that the POD would be delivered the next day... On August 16th, I received a call from the driver letting me know he was going to pick up my POD and would be at my house in 45 min... 30 minutes later he called me back and said the POD was not at the NC facility. He was looking and inquiring with his manager. I waited all day to hear from someone at PODS regarding the whereabouts of my POD. No communication whatsoever. I called the next day and was told that the POD had been delayed again and would now be delivered on August 19th. I asked for a refund of my last payment since my POD had been delayed for so many days and for the inconvenience of having to go buy things just to make it until the POD arrived. The customer rep took the information and told me it had to be reviewed by another group and it took 48 - 72 hours and I should hear from someone. The next day I received an email from an account rep that had to do with a completely different issue that wasn't mine but then she tried to recall the email. I emailed this person about the issue and she sent me a condescending email back stating that I had to submit all of this information to her and that it needed to be reviewed and investigated and it takes longer than 48 - 72 hours and that once I sent the information to her she would look into it. It's been at least two weeks and I haven't heard a word from her or anyone at PODS about my refund for the inconvenience of the POD being delayed. They had no problems charging my credit card but have failed to provide any type of communication with me. DO NOT USE THEM!!! read more

Took the advice as listed on the Pods website to call and speak to a representative if I was concerned with delivery up my driveway. I received the statement "there isn't any problem with delivering there, we just can't place the pod on an uneven surface but can drive up hills to the placement." Once the driver arrived at the location he stated he wasn't able to drive up any hills because his boss had given strict orders not to because it would damage the truck and refused to place the vehicle in the driveway. We then had to load the items MANUALLY onto a friend's trailer to transport up and down the hill to not kill ourselves with moving everything. Pods was UNWILLING to work with us to resolve at all and refused to refund ANY of our funds. The only reason we chose pods was because of the confirmation from the representative via phone that it COULD be delivered, or else we would have chosen a more practical option. We later received confirmation from the previous owner's of the home it was incorrectly placed at that they had also used Pods services and they DID deliver it up the driveway. We are COMPLETELY dissastified with this entire process and lack of caring shown by the team we encountered. The driver's we encountered truly made it seem someone (higher ups) had put the fear of God in them to do ANYTHING besides drive a pod up and down a perfectly flat road or else they would be fired. We were moving my daughter from home into her apartment in another state. We got the hard sales pitch to "secure" our container. Received an email confirming dates for pick up and drop off. When the day came for the delivery; the customer service agent seemed bothered when we called to confirm and gave us the company line of "their on their way" but admitting that they had no way of contacting the driver. Only that a container had been assigned to us. First of all, if you are operating a logistics company how can you not have contact with your drivers. The pod was not delivered, when promised. Two days later and after my card had been charged the full amount, I still had no pod. I called again and was given the same answer, "the pod was on its way" and would be there that day. This rep supposedly called my local pod location but "couldn't get anyone on the phone" . (secondly) why? were they calling a landline? Did they go back in time and no one locally had a company cell phone? This went back and forth with the promises and lies, until finally I asked for a full refund. Finally, this rep that I was transferred to asked if there was anything they could do. Minus going back in time, I told her no. It was too late to show that they cared. We had a pick up date of June 15th but because we changed our mind about taking the pod with us, the pick up date was a month out. Since it is auto billed, we will be charged another month. When ever you call customer service there is no accountability. They transfer you to different departments until they tell you they can assign an advocate but it will take a week to get that. Then the process can take months. I will never use pods again. I don't understand how you can deliver a pod in 2 days but not pick up for a month. They keep saying it's busy season. You should anticipate that and hire more people. read more
