Please do yourself a favor and use another company! I believe I have only written 1 other negative review in my life. You cannot contact the local company and all you can do is communicate with people at an 800 number. These people have no concern for your situation and don't provide any help if anything goes wrong. If the driver shows up at a wrong time, it is on you, not them. Very non-personal, cold, customer service that isn't the least bit concerned with helping you when things go wrong. Avoid at all costs and find another company in the area that provides the same service. After I booked them, I heard there were much better companies to work with that actually care about their customers and are less expensive. read more

Frederick Hutchinson from PODs lied to me. Door to door was what was promised. Now, after multiple calls where I am never called back the investigation that they promised has not been started. The POD is still across the country. They just want me to pay storage fees forever while never delivering the POD. If I want, when they do decide to ship it half way across the country I can get a large truck, hire people. Have the truck loaded. Drive 60 miles. Pay for the rental till I get it all unloaded at my house. Return the truck and drive back home all while paying for extra storage time. The nice thing is though, They offered to charge me only $2400 instead of the $2600 to move it from LA to IA. I told them to shove the savings. PODS lied. They do not offer the service they promise and then will insult you with a 10% off coupon by way of apology. I think that instead a lawsuit for all extra costs incurred will work better. read more

I placed an order online and later decided to cancel while I got further affairs in order. I sent an email five days ago and hadn't heard back so I called. Rick answered the phone and rather than listening to my feedback and apologizing for the lack of response, he informed me that I should have known to call (for security reasons) to cancel my order rather than sending an email. As I explained that I had no issue calling, but would have appreciated a response to the email, I was told it was the busy season and they get a lot of emails. When I asked to speak to a supervisor or escalation department, he told me they didn't have one. He then changed his comment after I called him on the inaccurate information he provided about his management structure and continues to put me on hold. No supervisor ever came on the line. Although I didn't use their services, this experience has caused me to look for a different service when I am ready to book. read more

We are using this company to store and more our stuff in our home. We were able to fit practically everything in our entire house and two four car garages into three large containers! There really is a lot of room in them. Inside the pods, they give you detailed instructions as to how to pack and store your belongings so that when they arrive at the final destination, they arrive in one piece. When we first contacted the company, they were super helpful and was able to answer any questions we had. We called a few weeks later because we needed to change the date on something and we were on hold for a while and then they were unable to help us for some reason. In all, I think this is a pretty good company to use. read more

This company is crooked and misleading. I went online for a quote and put in exactly what I was going to use it for and got a quote. Paid the amount and then they ended up charging me double. I called and was told I would be refunded. Did not get refunded so called back and another person said I wouldn't be getting a refund. After a 20 minute argument she hung up on me. I've filed a dispute with my bank and am waiting. Do not trust this company to be up front with the costs or to help in any way. read more

This is an update review from my previous review. The review I left before was on my experience with setting up the service and I gave it a 3 star. This is on my experience with them picking up the pod and delivering it. So as expected I received an email stating the estimated delivery time which was a 3 hour window, not a big deal. I received the call stating they were twenty minutes out. They picked up the pod and the driver told me he was on his way to drop it off at the new location. At this point I told him that the owner at the new location was moving out was going to move her uhaul and trailer out of the way so he could put it in the right location and i told him that it might take 10 minutes. He just said ok. I happened to go over there the same time as him to do my final walk through of the property and sure enough they were hooking up the trailer and was in the process of putting the last items in the uhaul and was about to move it. It wasn't 10 minute and I heard the driver drive off. Thinking the pod was placed and he left for his next job, that was not the case. He left with our pod and all our belongings without letting anybody know where he was going. I tied to call him at least 3 times and when that did not work I had my wife call a couple with no luck as well. It was then I called the central office to talk with the dispatch lady that coordinated with the driver. This is where it got really frustrating. She put me on hold to call the driver and see where he was at. When she got back to me her response was "he left for his next job and is dropping you pod at the warehouse and will be back to drop it off sometime today" "they are on a really busy schedule and since it wasn't ready they left." My wife an I were on the phone for 10 minutes with this lady giving excuse after excuse on why he left and why she couldn't give us a specific time on when he was going to be back. Then she made a comment saying "it's not like it's that big of a deal they are going to drop it off today!" Does she not understand the stress and planning and communication that is involved with moving? Because I can tell you not having our stuff when they said they would be there and having to make plans around there schedule and then to have them just drive off without any explanation on where they were going or when they were going to be back is 10X the stress level... Then to top it off, it became crystal clear that the lady we were speaking with was not telling the truth that she spoke with the driver... That he was going to his next job... because as she was giving excuse after excuse there came the driver driving down the hill ready to drop off our pod. Where did he go? I have no idea I was just glad he was back even though that was the complete opposite of what the lady was telling me. As a company their driver and dispatcher were extremely unprofessional. I highly recommend PODs to anyone moving. The service has been good, and the phone team is highly responsive. It's ideal for anyone who has a while to move and is ok doing the loading themselves. We had the pod dropped off at our old place as we packed, and we loaded it up. Last minute our house deal fell through! But PODS was great. We called them up and had them pick up the pod and put it in their storage facility, while we continued the house hunt. Now we are a month out from moving to our new home and they will drop the pod off to the new location on the scheduled day. It's a great service and they've taken some of the stress out of moving. Rates are reasonable and I think this is a MUCH better alternative to renting a storage locker during moving. Mostly because it costs less or equal to one PLUS they deliver your pod to your new place. Win win! read more

Screwed up from the beginning. Long distance move from Lawrenceville GA to Omaha NE. In GA they tried delivering an empty container before picking up my loaded one. 3 containers overall for move. Were supposed to deliver a lock with each container that I was billed for but only received one lock. Try to get the refund on them and customer service disconnected the call right in the middle of it. Close on my house June 1 and first available delivery date is 4 weeks out. Tried getting moved up. Have to submit "ticket " for each container. 48-72 hour response time. So I could have an even later date available if they deny getting me moved up. Then someone goes and sets up two of my containers to be delivered on 5/27 without my consent and that's before I take possession of my house. Poor customer service all around. No reason to have to wait 4 weeks to get my possessions delivered. And Their delay is causing additional storage fees for me. read more

Horrible, currently being told that I can't come get my stuff for another three weeks. Not only did the rep at the call center tell me they can't actually deliver it to my area, which was confirmed before pick up, but that if I want to pick it up, I have to wait three weeks. Up until the final billing period my experience was pretty good. After I paid $200.04 for August rental on August 2nd I scheduled my final pickup for August 7th and paid an additional $79 for the pickup. When I queried about getting a credit for the August rent I was informed PODS does not pro-rate. Upon further review, they do state that on their website.....but really? Couldn't you have at least deducted the $79 from the rent I paid but didn't use? Renters advice.....keep your pod as late in the month as possible or your giving them free money!! Really left a poor taste in my mouth and not really feeling I would highly recommend Just FYI my issue was never resolved. The convenience factor of PODS is five star and probably what makes their business model work. The service side though is -5 stars. Their customer service is offshore and we had to call several times to fix their mistakes with scheduling. Each time, waiting on hold for 15, 20 or even 30 minutes. We had four PODS and only one item was damaged, which is better than when we used a professional mover, but they make it VERY difficult to file an insurance claim even after you paid extra. They demanded a receipt. Do you have receipts for everything you ever purchased? After we actually came up with a receipt, they said there was no way to prove it was damaged through the move. So disappointing that they made it so difficult to ask them to do the right thing after we paid for the additional insurance. If you are looking for a convenient solution, they are great. If you are looking for help during or after the move, you will have to be extremely patient and have low expectations. read more

Pods are a scam. They routinely messed up scheduling, resulting in weeks and weeks in delays having my items delivered and then picking up their empty containers. After hours on the phone each time they'd claim to have no record of the scheduled deliveries then mess it up again. The result? They then charge you for the extra month they had your stuff or you have their container even though it was their scheduling failure that caused the problem. They are unethical, untrustworthy, and difficult to deal with. They take no responsibility and heaven forbid they damage your property in the process. They aren't going to try to make that right either. Horrible company. I regret doing business with them. I had a credit on my account the day I scheduled the empty container pick-up. Once again, after an hour scheduling it, they didn't show until 2 weeks after the scheduled pick up date., They then charged me $185 for their containers sitting at my house empty those extra two weeks. On the drop off, they were a month late delivering my goods. An entire month, which meant I had to buy clothes and household items to survive while waiting for them, and yes, they charged me for that month too even though it was their mistake that caused the delay. This has been the worst customer service experience I have ever had. We scheduled our pod to be delivered to a home we were moving out of, it came on time. We scheduled for it to be picked up from that home, it was picked up on time. We scheduled the pod to be delivered to the home we were moving into, had family drive 6 hours to help us move, we all took the day off of work as it was a weekday, and it never showed. I called at 9am and 5 more times through 2pm trying to figure out why our scheduled delivery time apparently disappeared, and got all of the blame put on us. Then I was told if a spot opened up on the lot to have the pod dropped in so we could unload, that we could do that and that pods would work to make that happen. Nothing. Not a call back. Constant arguing the half dozen times I've tried calling back. No one cares to pose a resolution, they just want someone to blame for why our scheduled delivery is no where in their notes. And at this point it's our word against all 10 "customer service" agents I've had to speak to over the 6 hours spent wasting my time, and still no resolution, no one ever cared to help or come to a solution, only argue. The PODS in LaVista, Nebraska is HORRIBLE to work with and will not work with their customets. I was charged for a full month of storage although my things were stored for 7 days of the billing cycle. Then I paid for drop off and pick up all within 1 weeks time. Thats a lot of money. The manager would not work with me on the monthly fee...thats a shame because up until now...I thought my experience was great. I recently did a move across several states and also needed my things stored for a few months. PODS was kind of the best (most affordable) option for something like this. The move went relatively smoothly and I really appreciated the convenience of their service. A few glitches though: the customer service was awkward and confusing. When I called to reschedule the move date, they tried to schedule the shipping date before confirming the initial pick-up date. It was a very confusing conversation. My second call to them to schedule the delivery date was equally confusing. Also, when they schedule pick up or drop off dates/times, they won't give you a time until the night before. Where would I be without PODS? I know....renting out storage for another month while we close on our house....and then having to load up another moving truck. Thank God for PODS! I was pretty pleased with this particular PODS. We dropped our items off on site and they were pretty flexible with our time (we showed up an hour late). Plenty of place to unload and very friendly and helpful staff. My only complaint would be that reserving the POD was somewhat confusing, and was only made worse by the online process. Luckily, the people at customer service helped us sort it out. Would highly recommend this place if you need to store items temporarily and you want to avoid another rental truck experience. read more

Horrible customer service, was not contacted when pod initially arrived in the state I shipped it to. I have had to call in order to find out where my POD container was located, I was told that I would receive a call back in regards to my container and when I may pick it up. I have paid an excessive amount of money for this transport service which was late to pick up the POD container initially. I would not recommend anyone use this service, specifically this branch. I have received an email mid day stating that my container will be auctioned off, due to lack of payment. I am not entirely certain why considering I paid up front and the payment was charged to my card. There is no way to access assistance on the online portal, or to make a payment for that matter. read more

I was moving from California to Nebraska and considered renting a moving truck to do it with the help of my parents but a friend recommended PODS, so I called for a quote. To my surprise, it was very reasonable. The process was clearly explained including how the billing would work. There was no pressure to buy their service and the only up sell was an $8 lock. They offer discounts as well, check with your credit card company as they might have a promotion. When I called back to book the dates, it was very easy. I just gave the reference number, the rep took a few more details and advised they would send me updates as to when the driver would drop the POD off, pick it up, etc. The windows of time were always spot on and the drivers would call ahead to let me know they would arrive in 15 minutes. The drivers were courteous and the drop off/pick up process was pretty cool to watch. The drop off in Nebraska was just as promised and as soon as we unpacked it, the pick up of the empty POD was just as easy. I called, they gave me a day and time that the driver would arrive and just like that the POD was gone. In a nutshell, affordable, ease of mind, no pressure, courteous employees and on time service. If I move in the future, I will definitely be using PODS again. read more
