Prior to moving from FL to MA, we watched all the POD videos, etc. 5 of us loaded, strapped, stuffed crevices with towels, etc. and secured my things in the POD and LOCKED IT with a POD LOCK that I purchased FROM PODS. By March, I was in MA and finally found a place to live in May and scheduled the POD for delivery...it was a day late, they moved it to another storage facility so I could not see it..they delivered it with a POD-installed COMBINATION LOCK and did not tell the driver or ME - we had to get it cut off and then found SEVERAL THINGS MISSING but PODS did not accept responsibility for anything, and would only take $100 off the final bill (moving and storage) and the driver was a subcontractor who could not even cut the lock off. They have no customer service and when you make valid statements that they don't like, they send you a sanctimonious email and want you to tell the "social media" contact (not a manager with a name) your ID and info so they can totally ignore you. They NEVER called or apologized or did anything that would make me want to ever use them again and I won't. I should have gone with UHAUL...DON'T WASTE YOUR $$$$ ON PODS - THEY ARE NOT A BUSINESS, THEY ARE A RACKET. read more

We weren't able to get the pod at our initial delivery, but they were able to deliver the second time. It was hard to get any information on the ETA the first time, but our pod driver turned out to be amazing. If you are in a time-crunch, maybe consider another service. read more

Do not use them to move. Getting it dropped off was easy. Filling it up was easy. Having it dropped off at our new house was not easy for them apparently. They failed to drop it off on the day it was supposed to, and never called saying they were unable to drop it off. Then failed again the next and then the next. Finally it got delivered on the next day. I would be embarrassed to own or work at this company. They know nothing about customer service. I now see that my neighbors are moving and have a POD in their driveway. I hope they don't go through what we went through. read more

POD delivery (empty) was great, pickup (full) was great BUT they won't deliver it to my new home in Massachusetts because the forklift in Wilmington MA cant handle it. They offer no solution. They had no problem with pick up, but now, just 20 miles away from the final destination, they wont deliver due to weight! They recommended I drive up (7hours) offload some items myself (I'm 62 years old). How is this on me? I could have easily offloaded items when they did pick up, but now, just 30 minutes away from the final destination, they wont do it. It is incredible that they do not have the same equipment from one place to another, and that the customer is responsible and they offer no solution. I had hoped to continue loading POD after POD, but now I will use a different company! read more

Terrible experience with Pods. Their customer service is a joke. They damaged my driveway by gouging it out at multiple points and have made it practically impossible to file a claim. No email, can only call, but then there are long wait times, and I was also disconnected several times. Total frustration. Was told that I would receive a call back which never came, still they refuse to send a email. They probably don't want any documentation of their horrible service. Went through three agents after many hours on the phone but after all this they mixed up my claim with a different customer! AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! read more

If I was basing this review on my experience with the first delivery attempt of my 16' POD, it would be 1/2 star. Not going to bore you with the details, but it left me vowing to never EVER use PODS-Wilmington, MA again. Then they agreed to redeliver my POD with a more experienced driver . Talk about night and day! Tony showed up on time, was very friendly, and most importantly knew exactly what he was doing. His professionalism and dedication were impressive. When some tree branches were about to get broken by the Podzilla, Tony assessed the situation and gave me time to get up on the porch and pull the branches up and out of the way. (Rather than doing the 'bull in the china shop' thing and mowing them down) Not sure if you can request a specific driver, but if you want a smooth, easy and accurate delivery, from a driver who goes above and beyond, then I would highly recommend Tony. read more

Update: the pod has been delayed again. They have refused to let me talk to a supervisor again. The response from Pods to email their social media account did not lead to any assistance. Final update: the pod was delayed two more times, finally arriving a week after scheduled. The resolution with Pods never happened. They barely made contact, offered no options, and I've had ZERO follow up since being contacted by email 10 days ago. I do NOT recommend Pods, nor would I ever use them again. read more

*UPDATE* Business manager commented to direct message them, which isn't possible on this site without requesting a quote. I don't know if PODS corporate or this local store is the problem, but there is no way to get a hold of the local store and they will not talk to me directly, so what is a customer to do? Bc of the delay of my move they cannot give me info on new pickup time (bc I still dont have a POD to load) and don't know when they can deliver to my new address. So how do I possibly schedule movers? This was all scheduled LAST WEEK and they still haven't corrected the issue! ANY ASSISTANCE OR COMMUNICATION WOULD BE APPRECIATED AT THIS POINT. Worst customer service and completely useless. I had my POD scheduled a week before my move and they dropped the ball the whole way. I move out tomorrow and STILL no POD. Now they refuse to "rearrange their schedule" due to their own mistake. Horrible, horrible, customer service. PODS got confused and delivered to my final destination on the wrong day. The container was damaged by their forklift, destroying some of my items. And even though I had content protection insurance, the phone number for making a claim did not work. I tried emailing (no response) and tried calling (got the run-around in circles to nowhere). Little tip: the only way to talk to a human being on the phone (without waiting for literally hours) is to call and say you're making a new order. My content protection insurance attempt still went nowhere, but at least I wasted only an hour of my life rather than 4 hours. PODS basically tries to create the illusion of customer service until you've handed over your money, then their customer service is non-existent is you need help. PODS is a dumpster fire that interrupted a clown show. Do not use! read more

Will never use PODs again nor recommend it to any one else. Terrible customer service that never offer any solutions. Just false assurance that something MIGHT be done but won't. Drivers leave the POD in inconvenient locations and then it's impossible to get it moved or picked up. Overpriced and no value. 2 days notice just to access the storage unit should set off an alarm. Not going to waste my time reaching out on social media when your actual customer service has been useless. read more

This review is for the experience of loading a pod at the Wilmington facility. Staff were friendly and helpful. They brought our pod out quickly after we arrived. We were worried our stuff might not fit in the one pod we rented. Although pods national customer service said they didn't have a second pod available, staff at this location said they could bring one no problem. When we decided to instead make room by getting rid of our couch, Angel the forklift driver got rid of couch for us for free, removing a HUGE source of worry for us. read more

I would give this zero stars if it were possible. My EMPTY pod was supposed to be delivered today and I received NO notification that "there was a problem with the truck and it couldn't be delivered." I was the first delivery of the day and there was literally no way they could have called to inform me?! Contacted customer service 5 times, both through the online chat and the call center. I had to really dig to find out what happened. I have movers lined up the next morning, and supposedly they have "approved" an early AM pod delivery (which they have the audacity to still charge me for despite the incredibly poor customer service). I absolutely don't trust that it will show up tomorrow morning on time so I am now stressed beyond belief and have to come up with a plan B with self storage elsewhere in case. I will be out the cost of movers AND a $200 parking permit from the city if they fail to deliver tomorrow at 7am. Horrible experience so far. I was a fool to not read these reviews before booking and wasting my money and time. Do NOT use these guys. I will be reporting them to BBB if my delivery does not go as planned. I don't trust that I'll ever see my stuff again the way this is going so far. I am of the mind to cancel completely and go with my plan B at this rate. Absolutely untrustworthy service. read more

I would not recommend using PODS. It has been nothing but problems for us. Starting with the door getting stuck after our pod filled pod was dropped off at our new house. Next when the pick up was scheduled the driver drove by, saw our car next to the pod, and instead of ringing the door bell (we were home), or calling, just left and did not pick up the pod. After a long hold time, we rescheduled for another pick up. But apparently that call was for nothing as the agent didn't actually scheduled the pick up as she said. Now we are having to schedule another pick up, and we are stuck with this thing for another full week. On top of that we can't access the garage because the pod is in the way, and we are forced to pay for another month of rent. This seems like a rip off that we get this POD, and then can't get it picked up. read more

They LIE! Called 3 times to plan my move x-country. Got details on the first calls and then when I went to book it...they "could not guarantee" the size I needed would be available for the date I requesed. Could not guarantee it?? They would call me a few days before they said...how can one plan ahead like that??? And why in the 1st two calls was it available and then when I went to book it was not guaranteed??? But I could opt for the bigger one...for the BIGGER price. Very odd business practices...they did nothing to work with me or make me understand how they run a business with such conditions...I am a bit shocked actually. read more

Very disappointing. Are claiming we scheduled retrieval of the units for one week after closing on our home - a date we've known for 3 months. Explaining the urgency only gets back, "your situation is now up for review. We should be looking at it within 72 hours." That's nice, but we need pickup in 48 hours. Customer service agents are unflinching, incapable of doing anything more than the script - even when the error is on them. I gave one star because the units were clean. read more

I concur with the previous reviewer. If I could give a zero, I would. We had 2 pods delivered from Boston to Philadelphia. One was taken from our driveway 5 days late (same business with the 4th July week-end), after wasting hours on the phone. The company was able to deliver on time so I would not have written a review on that one. The second one was disastrous. It was to be delivered on August 29th- I called to make it the 26th, that never got taken into account. Worse, the 29th arrived and went...and the pod was finally delivered on Sep 7th. Needless to say that this was a total disaster of a move, with 3 kids in tow and all of our everyday furniture and stuff in the delayed pod. One of the more frustrating aspects of the business is the total inefficiency, and not being able to reach one point person. The amount of time spent calling, being put on hold, talking to people who have no idea of the case is huge. People tell you they are going to do something and then do not...and then the amazing thought that more than a week delay does not matter. Supremely unprofessional. read more

If there was a way for me to give this "business" zero stars I would. Waited 3 weeks to get our Pod from Chicago to Boston because apparently All of the truckers take a week long vacation during the 4th of July. Ok fine. Our bad luck. The pod was supposed to be delivered to Wilmington on the 13th, right in the middle of our honeymoon. So they were going to store it for us and deliver it on the 21st. But then the day we are supposed to get the pod finally the jokers up in Wilmington claim the thing didn't arrive to their facility until early that morning (over a week late!), so they had to schedule other people's deliveries in front of ours, so we have to wait. Meanwhile we scheduled movers to help us unpack the pod, so they are currently sitting around on our dime because the idiots that "run" this company can't manage to get a large box from Chicago to Boston in THREE EFFING WEEKS. We would have been better off sending the thing by post office. read more

Seems to be a theme here. Tried to reserve a small pod for family room as I was about to re do carpet. Got all the way up to scheduling and it was not available...... all summer (3 months) Then I tried the 12 foot same thing, could only get the 16 footer.Re-called 2 weeks later, spoke to a rude woman, same experience. If it were possible to give negative stars I would. I hired a pod to move from Winchester to Reading. We packed it to the gills with boxes. First, on the day of the move to Reading they informed me that they couldn't do it because there was insufficient room to leave the pod in my new driveway. This was dubious at best, but at the very least they should have told me this before I paid for the pod in the first place. So, I had to pay movers to unload the pod and move everything to the new house. That cost me $700. Second, when the movers unloaded the pod, they found that it had leaked. All my stuff was wet!!!! I reported this to pods immediately. They said a manager would call me back, but never did. I had to call again, and they opened a "claim." Then they went dark. So I'm out the $600 I paid pods, plus the extra $700 I had to pay the movers, for a total of $1300. Do yourself a favor and run - don't walk - away from this disgrace of a company as fast as you can. read more
