I cannot recommend this company enough. I received quotes from many different companies and Mass Bay came in as by far the cheapest (I am located in Salem, MA). At the last minute, they were able to accommodate me for a next day move. Dan, the salesman told me everything I would need to know during our phone call. Manuel, the Forman, shower up on time with two others. They were fast, efficient, and took great care of all of my items. Before I moved I told a friend that I was curious to see how much over what I was quoted I would be charged. Amazingly Mass Bay finished my move in record time and the total came in under the quote. They were also kind enough to help my girlfriend move stuff out of her car and into our new place when she did not even contract with them. This was a 3 stop move, in a city during the weekday with school traffic etc and the men that took care of this were truly exceptional. Every single thing was handled with care. They went out of their way to travel to my rental house to pick up my big pieces of furniture and when they delivered and set up they put felt pads under all of my furniture so it wouldn't scratch my new hardwood floors. I couldn't be more happy with Mass Bay. I recently moved the contents of my entire home, patio, and outbuilding. Although it was a long day (two trucks and six movers), everything went incredibly smoothly. The estimate can back quickly and was all inclusive. We signed the contract & set-up the dates. We received a call 48 prior to confirm we'd be ready. On moving day, we got a call an hour prior to the truck arriving. When it arrived (on time) we were introduced to the Forman Edwin. When you look on the website, MBM has very high reviews. I don't have any experience with other company for comparison. The moving was OK, mostly because we took extra care to protect the objects that could have been damaged. What I found really tricky, was their deceiving charges. I initially asked for an estimate to move part of my household to complete part of insurance work related to water damage. The estimate did not mention at all that it was referring to one way, moving out portion. After the insurance approved the estimate and the move happened, I was informed that this was just for one way and additional charges will be applied for return. Needless to say that the insurance did not pay the difference and we were stuck with a bill of over 4000$. I WOULD NEVER WORK WITH THIS COMPANY AGAIN BECAUSE OF DECEIVING BILLING. read more

Great if you want all of your stuff stolen stole everything out of my house when we had a fire they weren't supposed to throw away my personal documents, like my passports, my birth certificates my car titles they threw it all away. Dan told me the movers would be there between 8 and 9 am. I arrived onsite at 10 to 8, and they were already waiting for me. Smooth, efficient, polite, clean, and caring. Several of the pieces being moved were over 100 years old. They treated them better than if they were their own. When we arrived at the new location, it was like shampooing, lather, rinse, repeat. My dealings with Mass Bay Movers were positive from the start. They gave me a quote after I told them more about my move (# of items, distance, etc). After I signed up for it, they sent me a contract and committed to a 2 hour window in which to come. They arrived 30 minutes into that timeframe, after texting me to say they were 10 minutes out. They handled my belongings carefully, including disassembling and then reassembling some storage shelving I had. When I do my next move, I will definitely use them again. Following a house fire we had furniture moved and stored by MassBay Movers. When those items were returned we found extensive damage, so we filed a claim. In an e-mail, MassBay offered a monetary settlement of $860. We tried to discuss the claim further, but they would not answer our emails. After the third or fourth try, they simply wrote back: We have sent you our offer of $850.00 [sic]. This is our final offer." We called to discuss the claim as well as their bad customer service, and they did call us back, but would not negotiate on any part of the claim. Being worn out by the process, we emailed saying we would accept the offer. When they sent a release form, it included an "anti-disparagement clause" that basically said neither we nor any of our family or friends could make disparaging remarks about the company on social media or anywhere else, or they'd have the right to go after the settlement money. We now understand why there seem to be only glowing reviews online! This clause violates the Federal Consumer Review Fairness Act of 2016 by stopping us from reviewing their services or conduct online or in any other way; and by imposing penalties or fees (in this case, claiming the right to a refund of the settlement amount) if we do post a review of their services or conduct. Customers beware. The moving team we had was careful. The experience at the warehouse was another thing entirely. Furniture did need to be brought onto the floor for insurance inspection. Somewhere in the process, antique furniture was wrapped in packing tape without any blankets. There are white paint streaks on the edges of many pieces. We expected some damage, but not as extensive as was found. But even worse, our experience with MassBay Movers is that the company is unprofessional in its treatment of its clients and continues to break the law with its anti-disparagement clause. We believe we should be able to receive payment for damages AND write an honest review without penalty. read more

They helped advise on what should/should not go in the pod and did a very thorough and careful job wrapping everything. They worked quickly and got the job done in 30 mins less than the estimate. Sal and his team went way above and beyond. We had to cancel on them 3 times due to bumps in the road selling our house, once just hours before they were due to arrive. I half expected him to kick us to the curb, but he couldn't have been more gracious and understanding. Fourth time turned out to be the charm and things went off with out a hitch. Hilberth, Edwin and Alberto were so organized, professional and just great to work with. We were moving out of state to a much smaller house that is being rehabbed. There was a fair amount of large furniture that had to go into a garage and I was amazed at how easily they handled all the craziness that day. They worked straight out all day hauling large furniture to several locations and up steep stairs with not one problem.
