I remember coming here a year ago. Recently was by the area and was craving the tacos I had here. Decided to stop by for some tacos. When I drove into the parking lot, I saw that it has $4/hr parking fee now. Since I wanted the tacos, I suck it up and paid the fee. After taxes and services fees, I ended up paying $6.22. Since I came on a weekday, the market inside was pretty much empty and dead. More than 80% of the booths were closed. Ended up just getting my tacos and leaving. Parked less than 30minutes... While I was in the market, I heard the employees say that you can park 10minutes for free before having to pay. So if anyone is coming here for a quick stop to get some food, maybe that is something to keep in mind. read more

I scored on tea and tacos at the public market! I've visited Tea Madame at their other locations, but I was pleased to see their extended booth here. They will have a sample of hot tea to taste test, highly recommend their tea. Delicious flavors and blends of a variety of teas. Ask to smell the loose leaf tea containers, for a tea lover, heavenly. Great quality tea and unique flavors. I tried Taco Street today and it did not disappoint. It was my first time at Point Ruston shopping around and it was a treat to stop by these local shops! read more

Maybe I went at a bad time but half of the vendor stations were empty. Really not much to do and definitely not worth the cost of parking. It's very strange - I'd imagine the reason so many shops are closed is because there aren't enough customers. You know what would help with that? Free parking for the public market. read more

This public market was not what I expected. Maybe because the Yelp category said it was a farmers market, I expected more farmers stuff. (I submitted a business edit; let's see if it improves the data.) There was one small shop with limited groceries. There weren't even flowers. I went on a weekend when there should have been more weekend stalls according to the website. But nope. The place was half empty. And there was no visible parking validation QR code. See my Point Ruston review on details about their complicated parking. What I did see were several specialty food shops - tea place, chocolate place, baked goods shop, etc. The Pike Place Nuts shop was physically there but not open. There was a cute ladies clothing store, a plant shop, a jewelry shop, and even a dry cleaner. In short, the place is more like a mini-mall with some food and some non-food. I'll recommend two shops. The first is Tea Madame tea shop offering loose leaf teas, tea pots, and tea accessories. This stall is large and cute! The other is Chocolate Moonshine. The bars of chocolate are $4 each in many different flavors. She offers free samples. See photos for both shops. By the way, the website is not properly updated. This place was spare and had a lot of empty spaces. I assume that they are building up their clientele and their business ventures. It was nice and cute and I wanted to like it much more than I did. But I did manage to find a few things, but it they want to get some business away from Point Ruston, they definitely have to up their game. I am looking forward to a summer visit to see how much they have grown. The potential is there and I'm confident in them. That's why they have four stars instead of the three they earned. read more

I really love the development in this Point Ruston area. I've been to Point Defiance in the past but for some reason I've never been to this area. We came early for a Yelp event and walked around the market and cruised by the food trucks outside. All the sights and smells here were great. We met a nice lady named Norma who ran the Eco Repurpose Boutique and we chatted with her for a bit. She was very nice and has some super cool products in her store. All of it sustainable and most made with recycled items such as bags from old military canvas tents, etc. Very cool. My only issue with this public market is their bad wi-fi and cell connectivity as it absolutely sucked. These days I don't have these sorts of issues with the better coverage by all cell companies but for some reason I did here. Other than the wi-fi coverage, this place is very chic and lively. I would love to return on a warmer day and spend more time here and at the nearby businesses and exploring the walkway along the water. read more

What a fun little market! Certainly not as big or established as Pikes Place but we had fun poking around the stalls and eating tacos. It might have been a bit subdued because the weather was crummy and it was not the holidays yet. Will be back to see what is new. read more

I've been anxiously awaiting the opening of the Point Ruston Public Market... I pass it every time I take my son to the Point Defiance Zoo, or go down to the waterfront. It's been exciting! I was so pumped to see that they were OPEN one of the last times I went to Ruston. There's a nice, big parking garage right outside the back door with free two hour parking (with purchase, I believe, but they aren't really enforcing it right now). Worth noting that the market is not at 100% yet - not even close. It's still very much under construction on the inside and there's lots of work to be done. That being said, they've got a handful of vendors that are worth checking out in the interim while waiting for it to *really* open... There's a few vendors that sell wood products, glass products, and fashion products. Then you have your typical veggies & produce and flower stands. There's a few others in there as well, such a Pike Place Nuts! My personal favorite so far is Owen's Meats, which has a permanent spot in the market. I love their pickled goods - the Farmhouse Pickles and Pickled Asparagus have been my favorites so far. While it's not 100% finished, it's worth checking out if you are already making the stop at Ruston. I wouldn't come JUST for the market since it only takes about 20 minutes to walk through currently. They're open every day though, which is awesome. Can't wait to see how this place turns out as it progresses! read more

Me and my wife have gone here several times always having a good experience until last night. We stopped In for this amazing Mexican restaurant called taco street, they're amazing and the food is hands down the best in the area don't even get me started on their drinks! When we first arrived to the public market we were met with a random guy sitting down with his shoes off picking at his feet glaring at us. Not sure why but he was really dead set on staring at us. We were in line for the restaurant for a good 10 minutes and aside from telling people walking In that they're closed he almost never stopped staring at us. When we got our order in we waited off to the side, we got two big drinks with our order that are pretty rad looking but they're very big and bulky. Anyways as soon as we got our drinks and we're looking for a place to sit the same weirdo who's been staring at us got up and was awkwardly following us, taco streets dining area was full so we went to the benches the guy said we couldn't sit there so we moved to tables off to the side and he waited till we were trying to sit to tell us that we couldn't sit there and by this time family had left a table open so ok cool we can go there... nope dude followed us again telling us we couldn't sit there either he raised his voice the last time. I would've argued with this guy but my wife being just under 8 months pregnant and our arms full of food and drink we just wanted to get away from this guy. We were essentially walked out of the public market by this guy, forced to sit in our car. He was telling people their closed he even went out and took in the sign for the restaurant. He stared at us from the doors and I think took photos of us. So bizarre, rude, creepy, humiliating, and unacceptable by any standard. After finishing our meal in the car with my hands freed I went to ask the restaurant about this guy who he is and what he did. He wasn't an employee at all, he's the buildings janitor. I could see how it could be frustrating to clean that space just as I'm sure he likely gets rude people time to time but We didn't do anything to deserve to be walked out like we were. I spoke with the restaurant owner who was very apologetic and she assured me she would let the building owner know. I just still don't understand why we couldn't eat inside while other families and couples could I mean it makes absolutely no sense we didn't even argue with him or say anything. All in all this place is fantastic just as long as that guy isn't there to ruin your day. The other businesses in there are great as well. Everyone there with the exception of the one guy have all been pleasant. I hope the building owner can maybe retrain him or give some guidance. Went here a couple week ago for the first time with my dog and boyfriend! This market is pretty far from me so I have never heard about it but what brought me here was Yelps Elite Experience for #WomenRunSeattle with Sonrisa! If you've never been, think of it as a farmers market that's inside of a big warehouse type of building. I didn't end up buying anything but there is so much to offer-- a beer garden, chocolates, a coffee shop, produce, clothing, houseplants, food trucks, and more! I don't know what I was expecting but I wish I allowed myself more time so I could've explored more! Everyone was so friendly there and I loved that it very dog friendly! I will definitely be back again when I am in the area. read more

Highly recommend checking out this indoor Public Market along the Ruston Way waterfront. Some of the anchor tenants include Owens Meats, Fardell Farms, Only Oatmeal Cookies, and Dancing Goats Coffee Bar. On the weekends, smaller pop-up vendors include Pike Place Nuts, Black Fleet Brewing, Seattle Bagel Bakery, and a selection of gourmet desserts. Definitely a nice little find! I found myself here to try out Dancing Goats coffee and ended up checking out the market and buying a few more things! This market is 100% indoors so it's available year round. There are several "permanent" vendors that have their shops built in (coffee, meat shop, cookie shop, and maybe one more?) everything else has their space in the open areas and may or may not rotate out. Like you'd expect to see at basically any market, there were produce and flower stands along with various types of art and stuff for your puppers! As is a sign of the times, there's a mask shop that seems to really like knockoff name brand masks - to each their own! I'm definitely curious to see what this place will look like in the Spring/Summer. I would fully expect to find more variety of produce and flowers so I'm really looking forward to that and I think this place has a lot of value to the community. Parking here is easy peasy and there's plenty of space. I saw some signs that imply that it's pay parking, free with purchase, but there doesn't appear to be any sort of enforcement?? read more

I was incredibly, and happily, surprised! Well worth the unplanned stop. On a whim, having driven by it, I turned back around and pulled in. My visit was mid-week and I was pleasantly surprised by the number of vendors and the options available (not all the vendors doing the same thing). Yep, there's the standard stuff you'd expect - flowers, in season fruits and veggies - there's also some gifted and talented artists. Beautiful wood and resin items, vivid and colorful ceramic tiles, unique glass work (I'm coming back on all three of those - gift ideas!), food oils, vinegars and spices (yeah - I bought some), bath products (great variety), meats, etc. I stopped at the cookie shop and got a couple of 'sugar free' cookies, then the coffee shop for a tasty brew to go with my cookies - both positively exceeded my taste expectations. Everyone was engaging, kind, and courteous ... it was a very pleasant experience. RECOMMENDATION: 1) Go earlier in the day if you can 2) Go on a Weekend Day In closing, this is a smaller facility and hasn't been open very long (1 year+); This is NOT Seattle's 'Pike Place Market' - AND - was still well worth my time and money. And yes, I am going to make a future stop for specific gifts, coming back on a Weekend Day to check out all of the vendors. read more

*Owen's Meats; fabulous!! Great professional, polite service, plenty of yummy samples, tasty meats & cheeses... I bought their Chicken Fajita fixings... Delicious!! I'll go back to get more! *Chocolate Moonshine; had a few tasty samples.. bought some Whiskey Peanut Butter Fudge! I don't think I've ever bought fudge before & I'm old! Friendly ladies working there. *Taco Street; had a yummy taco with a huge dollop of guacamole on it! And not expensive!! *Pike Place Nuts; yes, I bought more stuff! *All Things Rich Honey; very knowledgeable gentleman with lots of sticks to try the various honeys... He also has various Olive Oils and Balsamic flavored vinegars. Ok, fine, I bought more treats! Now the bad review: Fardell Farms...{was our first store... thankfully we didn't let this keep us from going more into the Market} My friend and I accidentally thought an OPEN bag of cherries on a table we were walking by was samples... a very cold, rude, unpleasant & unprofessional man barked "those are Not Samples"!! We were stunned, apologetic and offended, all at the same time. For every apology or attempt to explain why we thought it was a samples bag, he got more rude & nasty. I kept thinking at some point he'd make a joke of the whole thing, tell us it was a misunderstanding... but nothing. I wanted to buy fruit and vegetables... but there was absolutely NO WAY I would ever buy anything from Fardell Farms. We started walking away and my friend went back to try to make amends... He wasn't having anything to do with customer service or just basic human respect of another person. This altercation took place over 7 hours ago and it still upsets me & makes me mad... and still shaking my head. I highly recommend not supporting a place that has such a blatant & rude worker or owner. I'm not saying that the customer is always right, but when the customer apologizes, you sure as hell should respond in like manner. I will 100% go back to the Market, but I will also 100% tell my friends not to go to Fardell Farms. Thank you for your time as I put time into this for you to have some pre-knowledge!! read more

The restaurants and shops are wonderful. However, be aware that you have 15 minutes to patronize a business for parking validation and it has a time limit. We ate lunch and then decided to shop and support the local shops and received a $59 parking ticket that goes to $89 if we don't pay within 15 days. Doesn't seem very consumer friendly. read more

I haven't made it to Point Ruston Yet, but I will get there this weekend. I always drop in on my way to Manastash Ridge. Always friendly and great service. The Meats are to die for and one of my favorites (If they still sell it) is the Carnivore Mix of meats and cheeses. Yum - Plus the beef rope is excellent and lasts the weekend when I go camping. I can't think of anything I don't love about their meats and stuff. read more

PSA: If you drive down to main street and park in a street spot, not in the public parking garage, make sure your license plate is facing the street or the horrible security man will ticket you and half the other cars. Apparently there are signs to do so but clearly not big enough if 50% of cars are getting ticketed:) Other than that this was a great place. read more

Love the farmer's market atmosphere. Great location to pick up meat, fruits, nuts, trinkets, and some quick bites. I enjoyed it so much that I had to go back twice during the trip. read more
