Two years later, with a lot of metal in my mouth and a major surgery completed, I will tell you that it was worth every penny including the long drives to and from Novi (Btw don't see Dr. Spillane in Novi if you have a complex case, he made mine worse!). You could see that they have a staff that is like a family as well as a highly efficient team, which is very great to see. The only differences I would have liked is getting more information about procedures and upcoming appointments / steps without having to dig for it and possibly having a more aggressive procedure done. I think everyone did their best to make sure having braces was not terribly uncomfortable which was nice but I would have rather have them be more painful and take less time (if that would have been possible). That being said, the people here are wonderful and I am grateful that I had such an excellent team of experts on my side through this experience.

They do not go over with you what their plan is and explain to you what the outcome is going to be like other orthodontists I've spoken with and seen since do. They deny issues as they come up and go out of their way to gaslight you. When I tried to bring up an issue that is common in orthodontics--one that I even spoke to other orthodontists about and they understand the issue and how to easily resolve it--I was mind blown when Annmarie was immediately agressive and literally started yelling. My demeanor when I went in was mousy, so it was a very bizarre reaction on her part for just bringing up a physical concern and one of the most unprofessional experiences in my life. They also gave me damning advice when the issue could've easily been reversed after having talked to several other orthodontists, and they rendered my issue non-fixable because of them telling me to just stop wearing my trays until I come in and then did not let me get in for weeks. Go to an orthodontist who is willing to show you their plan, who is willing to work with you and make adjustments if there's something going on with your mouth and your teeth and your body that is causing pain or something you are unhappy with. These people are not willing to help you. But they will act extremely nice until something goes wrong. It was a bizarrely unprofessional atmosphere and the amount of gaslighting was hard to believe. Annmarie was truly a bully; very agressive and utterly mean. They are really good at advertising though; particularly about how nice they are and how much they care about you. I am not writing this review out of spite, I do not want advice going through what I went through and I'm still dealing with, and I want to urge people to make sure when they go to an orthodontist that it is someone who goes over a direct plan and is willing to make adjustments if the patient is not happy with what is going on with their body. It is your life and your body, be careful who you go to.

I was referred to Havens Orthodontics by my dentist a few months ago to discuss getting adult…read morebraces. Ive contemplated braces actually for some years, but now being able to fully afford paying out of pocket, I was able to move forward with a treatment plan for braces. I've been going to Havens Orthodontics now since May/2023. And every experience I've had so far has been very pleasant and professional. My first appointment, which was the consultation appointment was free. I was able to talk about different options for braces, the timeframe I was expected to wear braces, cost, and payment plans. So, so far so good of an experience! The staff seem to be very nice, the office is clean, and I'm usually in and out for my follow up appointments. I will say that the only gripe if I were to really have one, is that I would prefer more privacy. I wasn't aware going into the process that the Havens office is like an open concept office. All of us patients are out in an open space to receive dental work. There isn't an enclosed patient room. It's not the worst experience, but can be kind of awkward if you're a very private person. But overall, I'm used to it now. And maybe it's just set up like this at the St. Clair Shores office where I go. I can't speak to the set-up at the other locations. I will update my review once I'm completed with the overall process of my braces journey
