Not honest. Previous ownership was good. They damaged a warranty job then when I came back tried to charge me for it. Incorrect fluid in part caused it to burn out the cooling system had to get that tank fully replaced. Lot of good talk from manager but can't trust the work unfortunately read more

This has to be the worst Auto Service Center in the entire Metro Detroit area! I wish I would have checked the reviews before just allowing AAA to tow my car to the nearest Auto Service available. Very horrible experience all together! Very Unprofessional, to say the least! After deciding not to have them service my car, they decided to take it upon themselves to have my car towed to "storage" not impounded but stored at their personal residential property. Upon me retrieving my own car back from them, I was then informed of a $200 "storage" fee that I was told nothing about prior to. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Go a few blocks down, or mile or so... I'm sure you'll find better service than you could ever possibly receive from here. read more

I've had multiple experiences with them they've always been extremely knowledgeable, fast to get the work done, courteous and friendly, and reasonably priced. I called this towing company for service this morning being Friday & I must say the ladies were nice, the owner or manager who ever his title is was VERY RUDE!!! The tow driver lied & said he called when he didn't!! After calling to speak with someone after getting to my location..the owner/manager told the tow person to leave, which left me stranded looking for another tow service!!! And who I found was ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!! I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THIS TOWING COMPANY TO ANYONE!!! NOT EVEN MY WORST ENEMY!!! read more

My car was impounded by Grosse Pointe Towing and I had to pick it up the next morning. The people I spoke to were courteous and efficient. We then drove several miles to the lot where the car was parked. When I got there, the inside of my car was FILTY and reeked of stale cigarettes (I am not a smoker). The entire steering wheel and perking break were covered in dried mud and there was a giant muddy footprint on the inside of the driver's side door. Very irresponsible. read more

On the 24th, my mother who is 61, called AAA to have a flat tire taken off, and her spare tire installed on her car at home. Grosse Pointe Towing was dispatched and the spare tire was installed without issue. Two days later I notice while spending some time with her that the undersized spare was on a drive axle. The vehicle is a Ford Flex, which uses the front wheels for turning and moving the car. Having two different sized tires on your drive axle can damage the transmission, differential, and cause a whole host of other problems including possible under steer caused by two different sized tires being on the front of the vehicle. So I had her contact AAA to have them come back out and swap it. The mechanic arrived earlier today from this company and not only did he try to tell my mother that they can not change the spare with a rear tire at her house, but she would also have to bring her vehicle in and I'm sure she would have been charged. Dumb old grosse pointers right G.P. Towing? So at that point I told my mother to tell him to leave. Shortly after I contacted AAA myself, explained the situation and had another company back out within a half hour that had no problem swapping tires in her driveway. Not only did they deny an easy service request, but it seems as though they were trying to swindle my mother out of money that did not need to be spent. And at the end of the day, the other company helped my mother without issue, and G.P. Towing has lost business to another company due to their own laziness. I would never recommend anyone to use this company for towing or mechanical work seeing as I have dealt with them in the passed with similar unsatisfactory results. I scuffed my rim on their metal-clad curb and blew my tire. They tried to impound my car due to "private property damage." I was told that there was nothing I could do, and that if the police were called it would go their way because the owner is "really connected with the police." I called their bluff -- both the GPF and Detroit police showed up, and set them straight. I doubt I'm the first person they've tried to scam. read more

I would never use these guys!!!! I just had a very irritating experience with these guys. I just had my car towed one block to my house by these guys. Not only did they charge me $64.00 to tow it less than a quarter mile they just dumped it on the street. They refused to put it in the driveway like any other towing company would. They were condescending to me stating "that it is their policy to not put the car into the driveway". They didn't even have enough tact to say I'm sorry but company policy is such that we can't put the car in the driveway. When I called the office to verify that this was the policy the jerk went into my van and took my keys as some sort of ransom I guess.I have had other towing companies put the cars in the driveway. If this is this is their policy than they should inform you upfront! read more

I thought they were a good company one night I waited two hours to receive service, the tow truck driver came out said he cannot tow the vehicle because there was snow around it (snow on one side, yes! In front 3" & on other side 1 1/2") and said that AAA refuses this type of service I called AAA they said they would do whatever they have to do to keep me happy as a customer and that was a lie, AAA then dispatched "Official Towing" they were out within the hour and had no problem towing my vehicle to the location needed..... so for lazy truck driver and lazy dispatcher... They will never receive services from myself or my family members in Grospoint ever again... read more

These guys provide great service. We'd been hit by another car and needed a tow - in Detroit. We'd only been in town a few weeks and were a bit flustered, which, combined with the Detroit Police taking several hours to finally show up, left us a bit upset. However, the fellow from GP Towing (wish I could remember his name) waited with us very patiently and was very friendly - made all the difference to a bad situation. read more

Absolutely terrible. I have a car I'm fixing up that's in my driveway. It has 2 flat rear tires. This was explained explicitly to them. The first time they showed up, they informed me that they couldn't tow it because the tags were expired. Fine, that I understand. The second time, same driver shows up and says "We have to push it to the street, my boss doesn't let us go up driveways, because someone tried to sue him once for a damaged driveway." The dispatcher, or manager (an incredibly rude woman) got an attitude with me. Ridiculous. The company that towed it there to begin with had no issue pulling into the drive ( same kind of truck )Get wise, Pointe Towing, serve your customers, do what you're paid to do. It's called a legal waiver, dummies. Your competitor is on their way to do what you won't. Is running off waivers and having your drivers carry them in a clipboard too much to ask? The driver even said my boss says "My truck, my rules." Right then I could tell the exact kind of guy this is. The customer is always wrong, my way or the highway type. I'll never use their service again, and will tell anyone who will listen the same. Unprofessional, uncompromising, and unapologetically rude. I'd give 0 stars if it would let you. read more
