I wish I had read the Yelp reviews before I tried to hire these Yahoos. I booked six weeks in…read moreadvance for boiler service. No show, no call. When they didn't show up at the appointed time I call them. I was told they would be here in forty minutes. Three hours later I called back and was told they would check to see what was going on and call me right back. They never called back and every call I made after that went to voicemail. Voicemail was full and I couldn't even leave a message. I think I dodged a bullet with them if this is any indication of their professionalism. What kind of amateurs just ghost their clients?

I recently had a break in the main water line to my house, and water was coming up in my driveway…read morelike a spring. I dug down to find the break in the line, and I managed to patch it. It was the old galvanized pipe from the early 1960s, and it was badly corroded. It obviously needed to be replaced. I also had a corroded, ancient shut-off valve that needed replacement. I called a bunch of plumbers to get estimates. Some plumbers gave insane estimates. Some plumbers never called back. One plumber came and gave an estimate but didn't respond to a subsequent call. Eventually I settled on Santa Fe Express Plumbing and Drain. I gave them a call, and we arranged a date for a couple weeks out. Robert and his crew of about 4-5 guys showed up on the arranged date with a digger. By the end of the day, they'd dug a 40-foot trench that wound around the bushes in my front card, so they didn't have to tear anything out. They used flexible, plastic PEX pipe and installed a tracer line so that anyone looking for the pipe in the future can see where it's at. They replaced the old outdoor shut-off valve and installed a new shut-off valve inside a closet in the house. They cut through a small section of the front porch, taking care not to disturb the supports for the portal, to get up to the house foundation and put the water line under it. All of this was done in about 7-8 hours. The crew came out the next day to meet with the inspector and back-fill the hole. They did a good job tidying up the area: looking at the yard, I could hardly tell that they'd been there. The cost was expensive, as any water line installation will be, but it wasn't nearly as bad as some of the other plumbers estimated. The written estimate was thorough and detailed, so I knew exactly what to expect. The crew was courteous and timely, and Robert answered all my questions and kept me apprised of the status of things. Getting a water line replaced is a big deal, and this went about as smoothly as possible.

My Experience with Zoom Bath Installation:…read more I requested a quote for a shower surround installation and made it clear that I didn't want to take measurements myself. They came out, spent about 20 minutes measuring, and later provided a reasonable estimate. I agreed to proceed, and they scheduled the job a few days later. When they arrived to do the work, they acted as if I was supposed to provide the plastic surround -- something that was never discussed. I called Zoom, but they didn't seem to remember the technician who came out and took the original measurements. Since I needed the job completed quickly to sell my unit, I met the crew at Home Depot and purchased the surround they recommended. Due to an emergency, they couldn't return that day. The next day, they came while I was napping. I could hear them struggling to make the surround fit. When I got up, they had already taken the back piece of the surround and left to run errands. Later that day, I discovered they had completely removed the previous contractor's cement board (HardieBacker) installation -- which I had paid over $1,000 for -- without asking for my permission. They also did not complete the trim work, which they said it's a not part of the job. They had to return another day to finish installing the fixtures. They later claimed the surround wasn't designed to fit between the studs and the existing HardieBacker, but they never consulted me before removing anything. The final install still had no trim -- as you can see in the photos. Then they billed me nearly double the original quote. I paid the bill but asked if they would consider offering a discount -- I received no response. To meet my appraisal deadline, I ended up purchasing plastic trim myself and completed the finishing work in about two hours. Photos 1 who they left it, 2. After I did my own trim work

The plumber came out quickly. My husband noticed one of the water supply legs was broken. So that…read moreis what I asked the plumber to replace. It was replaced quickly and the job was paid for. I asked if the work was guaranteed. The answer was NO, something is always going wrong with swamp coolers. Afterwards, I found that the plumber took several pictures while he was up there, installing the new spider. And there was a huge hole in one of the pads. WHY DID HE NOT TELL ME. I had the pads replaced. Since then there have been a lot of humid days, swamp coolers don't work as well during humidity. Recently the humidity dropped and I expected the the cooler to work better. That was not the case. It seem that pads are still not getting wet. And yes the water pump is working. The plumber bragged about how many swamp coolers he had installed. I don't recommend Zoom plumbing.

The guy who came who did the service was friendly and knowledgeable, and didn't mind all my questions as he was working.
