I live in Arizona but my parents live in a retirement community in Santa Fe. They have been having trouble with their Maytag not draining during the spin cycle. I called around to several places and most of them were less than enthusiastic about handling the problem. Allan's Appliance Repair stepped up to the plate and knocked it out of the park. Mark and Norman came out to replace my garbage disposal. They did not retighten the pipe to the sink upon completion so plenty of dirty water went onto the floor of the sink cabinet. I called them three times to come back and they ignored my calls (and texts). Super nice guys who unfortunately did sloppy work and then wouldn't own up to their mistake. My fridge suddenly stopped cooling today. Yikes! I called Als' Appliance Repair and someone immediately picked up. How nice! What was nicer was that Norman helped me figure out possible problems with the fridge and even gave me some advice on how to possibly fix the problem myself. It ends up the compressor died and I need to get a new fridge, but I really appreciated Norman taking the time to give me good advice over the phone, including which fridge brands to avoid. Repair person came out at the time expected. The repair was completed in about $25 more than expected and quoted. Two months later the same issue happened again. I've called the company three times. I've texted on Yelp several times and there is no response. It does not seem there is a warranty and the work is not solid. I hire Allan's Appliance Repair to come and change the knob that had broke over the weekend. Finally Mark called me back and he told me he cannot change only the knob that he had to change the whole timer.that he needs to order a brand new part. I need to dry my wet clothes so I agreed to his expert advice. He quoted me $282.00 for the repair and it had to be pay cash or check no credit Cards as his website says. He changed the part I wasn't here my elderly mother greeted him, but didn't know what he did. When I got home the drier timer was not working I contacted Mark and he said it was nothing he did and needs to charge me again to come out and and it was possible the thermostat, or machine is not plugged in. I assure him it's. But I would try his trouble shooting tips. The timer won't move on Any of the settings I tried all settings for hours and hours and it used to heat before, he changed the part, it was just the knob that broke. So it doesn't work at all! it doesn't move stays on the same spot and won't heat . Now Mark said it maybe a faulty part. I told him You told Me it's brand New parts. He promised to come back to replace his faulty parts . The company showed up at our home promptly but the positive parts of our experience ended there. I let Mark know that we had spoken to a repair man who, though unavailable, had worked with our Maytag model. The old timer told me "the compressor doesn't go out on that model, but this small (Insert wiget name) part does." My trip through googleland confirmed his wisdom and I shared this with Mark, the repairman. From there, I am not sure what happened. Mark clipped some wires, said he tested the part, and reported that the compressor was out. Given the cost of the part and repair, we were looking at a new fridge. Thank goodness for the experienced repair man--a local Española guy. He was adamant that it was the part. "Shake it," he said. Okay! But where did the part go? Mark had thrown it into the trash! I dug it out and shook the part, and indeed there was a rattle just like the good man said. Mr. Experienced came out and retested the compressor-- it worked! Not broken (unlike the attached text where Mark states it is). However, instead of disconnecting the fridge to run the test, the Alan's repairman had cut wires from a WORKING part. Now I am not the most Mechanical girl but what? I thought he was quick and efficient. As it turned out it was haphazard work. The store promised to refund the money for the service, which they have not done. We are still out the their service visit, the part they cut. We had to pay someone to fix the part Alan's broke AND the widget. Everyone makes mistakes but the business needs to stand behind its service and make wrongs right. The business promised to at least refund the service fee--but has not followed through on that. So a botched service call followed by lack of making good on their word. Friends, you can do better than this business! If you want your appliance to be misdiagnosed, working parts mangled, and the final verdict to be "buy a new fridge," gimme a shout. So Mark from Allan's Appliance Repair is the BEST! We just had some new appliances delivered and installed...by ANOTHER contractor. The washing machine and the dishwasher were installed by someone who obviously didn't know what they were doing. Neither worked! So we called Allan's and Mark came out the next day. He got them both working like a dream in no time. And we had another little situation--the washer was in a really tight space--and poor Mark had to squeeze into a space that would have given most a panic attack! He handled it with calm and cool! When Mark first came to our home, he was very professional. The part was no longer available for our LG refrigerator, but he told us if we found it he would return without an addition trip charge to install it. After a few months of searching, we called LG and lo and behold the part # had been changed. Our GE Profile dishwasher stopped draining and water leaked on the floor. The big debate was repair or replace, the unit is 7 years old. We decided to try and repair the unit and called Allan's Appliance Repair. Received an immediate response from Marc and we scheduled a date and time for a service call. Marc showed up on time and found debris clogging the drain line. In short order he cleared the line and the dishwasher Is back to normal. Glad we didn't just buy a new one!!! I called Marc at Allen Appliance to look at my dishwasher which was failing to complete wash cycles. I chose Marc because of his generally good reviews. I am sorry to report that my experience was anything but good. Marc came and looked at the dishwasher. He concluded that the control module should be replaced. The module cost $130 and I paid Marc a $100 for his labor. After he replaced the module and left, I found that the dishwasher would not turn on. Marc had neglected to connect the power to the washer after pulling it out. He came back the next day and hooked up the power. The washer was OK for a few days and then began again to fail to complete cycles. I left a text for Marc on a Saturday, expecting to hear from him on Monday. Monday afternoon I left him a voicemail. No contract. Texted and/or voicemailed him each day following with zero resuts. Finally, on Thursday, I called Bernie Salazar Appliance Repair (505-660-4663). He came out the following day and determined that the wash pump had failed. The control module never needed replacing in the first place. I have yet to hear from Allen Appliance. read more

I first contact Martin at Allan's repair back in December of 2016, yes well over a year ago. My fridge had condensation on the ice maker and in the back of the fridge where the motor is. He fixed the ice maker and after one run of ice that condensation was back. This went on for a year, back and forth. I even waited with the company while Martin had knee surgery, why they couldn't send someone else I will never know. Now I have asked them what is going on on January 2, 2018 and shockingly I have not heard a word from them. I have filed complaints to the proper people.
