I've been wanting to try poke for the longest time and although there are poke restaurants in MD, most of them are far from where I live. I found this place when I was getting coffee during a lunch break, I was ecstatic that there's a poke place near me and then seeing the raves reviews it had on yelp made me immediately try it and I couldn't be happier. I usually get a customized bowl and because of that I've been able to try most of the ingredients with various combinations. Each and every bowl I've gotten, I've absolutely loved. The ingredients are fresh and tasty. The service is quick, friendly and efficient. The special sauce they have is delicious; it's a little sweet but it really adds to the ingredients taste. It's one of the few bowl choices I don't change. I would suggest trying the salmon, tofu and seaweed salad. If you try them together, it's even better. If you haven't tried poke, this is the best place to start with and if you have, then definitely give this place a chance and I'm sure it'll become your favorite like it has become mine. read more

I've been waiting and watching for this shop to open. It's not in the most convenient plaza, but finally a poke place closer than Annapolis or Rockville! I was lucky in that they opened before I moved out of state. Unfortunately that was my first and only time eating here. The staff is kind of slow, but I got a friendly person and the food was good. I didn't get that many toppings so when I was done with my choices, the girl went back and loaded up on the same toppings to cover my bowl. The only con to this place, and I do think it's a major one, is the location. You can probably get in no problem, but boy is it a pain to get out if you come during the lunch rush or rush hour. It's all the way in the back end of the plaza, too, so you have to fight the traffic in the front first, then when you try to get out, good luck if you're trying to turn left! This is a nice place. I have seen this and various places like it, but on the day i went here, it was because there was no where else for me to get something to eat. I am somewhat vegan and I am unable to tolerate wheat and wheat gluten as well as sesame seeds, so I went in expecting to not be able to get anything. Poke is one of my favorite meals, and this was the first place I've gone for it since moving to MD. All of their ingredients were fresh, and you get a great amount of toppings. I didn't get any protein, but my partner ordered tofu in theirs and received a generous amount. Both of our bowls were delicious. I will definitely be coming back here-- They're cheaper than some other places I've been to that offer more topping options, and it's very worth checking out if you're in the area. The serving size and quality of food is great! Since we realized this hidden gem was close to us we have visited at least once a week. I heard great things about this spot, especially it being one of the very few places that offer poke in this area. I was let down extremely, and here's why: 1) Overpriced. For $10.95+tax, you get tiny spoon-sized portions of protein for a regular sized bowl. The bowl is made to look a lot bigger and they give you a hefty portion of rice... but i'm really paying for the protein and there's barely any of it. The chunks of protein itself are tiny too, so it's just not worth the price at all. 2) Sauces are on the saltier side. My friend only got sauce (house) for the protein but no sauce to top off the bowl, but it was still salty. I got spicy mayo and wasabi mayo and definitely was too much compared to other places. 3) Some of the protein looked... meh. Not dried out, but just lack of color and just kind of old looking. Whoa who knew this hidden gem was in the plaza! So glad I took a chance and checked the quaint restaurant out. Went in for lunch and got the spicy Hawaiian bowl to-go. Let's start with the customer service was great. There was no line, and who doesn't love not having a wait. Now on to the main event! The bowl was so good packed with flavor. I skipped on the mango and now I feel I shorted myself! I can't wait to go back and try some of their other bowl combinations and even a custom bowl. Who needs chipotle when you have Poke Fresh?! This "was" my favorite place to get poke bowls because it's 5 mins from my house. It's the only poke bowl place near me. I have went to a lot of poke bowl places and this one has to be the most expensive for what you get. Prices increase on how much type of seafood you want. I usually just get two (Spicy tuna & Salmon) because then you can add on other stuff with it and it ends up building up. Recently they been very picky on how much you get. When I started going their, they would give us a lot but, now it's barely anything. Even for the rice... you can choose brown or white. They don't even give you much. The place is nice and clean. *** I have ordered Poke Fresh twice online and both times they screwed up my order. The first time they left out so many things and added things that I didn't even want. Second time, they gave me so little of everything that I had to drive all the way back and complain about it. I don't go here anymore because I have found a different place for poke bowl. Best Poke Bowl place around! (Even if it's the only one around here). I've been to Lei'd in Tyson's and personally I feel it's on par, though you get less protein for the price here. The sauces are all great, the toppings are great, and the proteins are great. They don't have premixed fish+sauce here, though it's a pick-your-own sauce + pick-your-own fish style (which I like better than Lei'd). That way you can just get plain ol' salmon chunks if you feel like it. For anyone new to poke bowls, don't be afraid! I recommend getting white rice, salmon with the Poke sauce, then add cucumber/pineapple/mango/crispy onions/furikake (rice seasoning)/edamame/possibly seaweed salad. For the final sauce, I recommend getting Eel sauce (sauce FOR bbq eel, not made of eels) and Sriracha mayo (little spicy). The wasabi mayo was also really good and a new one for me. read more

This restaurant is located very close to my new home so it's especially convenient for those days when I don't feel like making dinner, but would still like to have something relatively healthy. I attempted to make a deconstructed version of my favorite spicy tuna roll. I ordered spicy tuna, seaweed salad, wasabi sauce, white rice, eel sauce, and tempura flakes. I wasn't sure if they would be able to accommodate my request for tempura flakes, but when I called they understood what I was asking for and obliged! I loved the bowl, and I was more than pleased with the wonderful customer service! I will say that I felt that the portion sizes seemed a bit small considering the price, but this factor isn't enough to deter me from eating here again. I ordered a custom bowl, and my wife ordered the Spicy Hawaiian, both size large. We both really enjoyed them. For the custom, you pick a base (white rice, brown rice, mixed greens, or a combination), proteins and a sauce to toss them in, toppings, and then a topping sauce to put over then entire bowl. I decided to stop by here today to try their Marine Bowl as the different fishes and pics I saw on Yelp made it look and sound great. Its at the end of a fairly long shopping plaza and I had to navigate around 18 wheelers in the parking lot that were unloading items at other businesses. It was kind of a pain but whatever. The Marine Bowl was quite good and large, mostly with the White Rice as the base I chose. I was actually unable to finish it because of all the rice but it had plenty of other toppings too. The price is steep. During these times, I like to tip as much as possible so this cost be just north of $20 (its around $17 on its own). They're not currently allowing anyone to sit in the establishment, which is fine, as I was planning on getting takeout anyway. My bowl was prepared within 5 minutes so the wait was nothing at all. I'm not sure I'd return only because its a 10 mile drive for me and there are other options closer to where I live. Also, I'm not a huge Poke connoisseur but I have craving one for about a week so I'm glad I came by. read more

I love the concept it's like the Poke version of Chipotle. They have a variety of options that can seem overwhelming. It took me ten minutes to figure out what I want. Went the other day, got 5 bowls! Only tried the Hawaiian classics and Spicy Hawaiian, pre built bowls. But the ingredients were fresh, and spicy mayo has a good kick. Very filling (think it was a large size bowl), we got white rice but you can pick brown or greens. Not bad for 15% discount. The staff were a little disorganized with the assembly line and had to reference the menu what was in the pre built bowl type. It was the same for Hot Pot, bubble tea, and now the area's first poke restaurant. Unfortunately this food pilgrimage is accompanied by quality deterioration.
