I've been coming to Sushi Q in Elkridge since my college days and it still tastes just as delicious as the first time! Their lunch combo specials are my favorite deals because you can get 2-3 sushi rolls for just about $12-14 in total. That lunch combo also comes with a crab tempura appetizer, clear or miso soup, and salad with ginger dressing. As for service, there are days when they are slow and some when they are extremely quick but this has often resulted in mistakes in our orders. There were a couple of times when I've received the wrong sushi roll or my entree never came out. However, the servers are usually very nice and will get your correct or missing order. Sushi Q is literally the best sushi restaurant is Elkridge! Their rolls are unique and tasty, my favorite is the Spicy Girl. My family also enjoys their Japanese fries rice. I typically order for pick up but after dining at the restaurant, I realize it offers a completely different experience that is not offered in to go orders. They are generous and often offer a free roll. Food is usually ready in 20mins and if it's gonna be any longer they will make you aware. read more

I am not sure how they treat their fish, but I now specifically crave Sushi Q's salmon as opposed to just craving "sushi." The reviews sold me on this place, but if you're used to sushi in a major metropolitan area, this probably won't impress you. It's an average sushi spot. I usually stick to nigiri and split a specialty roll with whoever I'm dining with, but this time I decided to try several rolls since they had a wide variety and so many people raved about the salmon. Unfortunately, the execution fell short. The rice was poorly cooked and under-seasoned, the seaweed was chewy, and the fish slices on top of the Crazy Salmon Roll were nearly 1/3" thick. While I appreciate generous portions of fish for sashimi, on top of a roll it felt bulky and threw off the balance. The crunchy salmon filling inside was also disappointing, with stale, sticky tempura that lacked texture. The "chef sauce" tasted like little more than spicy mayo with soy sauce mixed in. I ordered a side of spicy mayo to compare, and it tasted nearly identical. That said, I did appreciate the tablet ordering system at the table and the visual menu, which made ordering easy. Clean restaurant . Has 7 booths (28seats) and another set of tables(36 seats) and a few chairs at the sushi bar. Located off rout 1 in elkridge. Service was very quick, but we did come in at 315 pm on Friday so everyone else was finishing up. I ordered the chirashi don. I don't know if it's because I have not had it in a long time, but it was soooo good. The fish was delicious and fresh. The rice was prepared to perfection with perfect amount of rice wine vinegar and sugar. My wife does not eat raw foods, but she wanted to come here. She ordered the dinosaur roll, angry dragon roll, and angry lobster roll. She loved it. Lobster roll was ok imo. The dinosaur roll was delicious but felt the unagi could be a little thicker. Stopped by for a light dinner. And they were fairly busy. Standard sushi Q restaurant chain atmosphere. Do recommend to turn down the music a little. There are not much signage outside of the restaurant especially when gets darks, it can be difficult to spot where is door is Sushi came out delicious so was the spring rolls and soft shell crab. The waitress waited on us was new to the restaurant and had a little glitch with our order, but she was so cute and try to make up for her mistakes... which was not a big deal at all. We visited Sushi Q for the first time after hearing great reviews, and I am so glad we did! Upon arriving, we were quickly greeted and seated. The staff brought over menus and soon after took our drink order. They have quite a variety of sushi! We ordered a few rolls and a miso soup. To our surprise, we also got complimentary appetizers: fried crab sticks with a special sauce & a soup with mushrooms in it. Both were delish, and the miso soup was also great. The sushi was SO FAST! We literally could not believe how fast the rolls were ready and served to us. I am a huge sushi lover, and I've tried a lot of sushi. When I tell you, Sushi Q has the BEST salmon I've ever had in sushi, I mean it! Each roll that had salmon was just so good; I was amazed. The other rolls were also great too! The quality and freshness of each roll was perfect. The Lemon Salmon was our favorite! The staff was so incredibly friendly and attentive. This place has fast service and amazing sushi. I went on a busy Friday evening by myself as a after work, I'm tired and need a sushi fix, lol. I was seated promptly at the bar, and served pretty quickly. I got a Chirashi bowl that had everything good; various fresh shashimi, grilled scallops and a shrimp tempura. I like eating here and any of the other branches of Sushi Q because you always know what you're gonna get if you dine in: miso soup, sushi, and a small cheesecake dessert in a consistently clean/ minimalist space. It's not the fanciest sushi in the area, but sometimes I just want to eat a whole bunch of eel avocado roll and that's what I can get here fresh and affordable. I like to dabble here and there with some of their specialty rolls, but they do my favorite kind so well. Service is scientifically efficient and food can take a little while to prepare, but I'm not usually in a big rush. There's always a line out the door for online/mobile orders. When dining in, there's hardly ever a wait even though it can get crazy busy during dinner. They also have good lunch specials here. We will be back for more. read more

Semi-busy sushi restaurant on a weeknight, where our party of five was sat immediately but had to wait a long time in between waitstaff stops. Meal came with free miso soup bowls and fried panko imitation crab bites at the start and little slices of cake at the end. My fried Angry Ravens was hot, crunchy, and filling, so by the time the Twins came out, I only had half. I wasn't a fan of the reconstituted tuna on top of the Twins, I was expecting actual tuna, but maybe that's on me for not reading the menu closer. Casual sit-down vibes rather than a nice night out. Our drinks (sodas, not alcohol!!) came after our food, and our daughters water NEVER came, even after asking TWICE. I usually don't write reviews, but my recent visit to Sushi Q in Elkridge left me shocked and frankly uncomfortable. I placed a to-go order and arrived to pick it up. A young lady at the counter politely confirmed my order number and directed me to pay at the kiosk. I used Apple Pay at the kiosk, selected the option to have my receipt texted to me, and entered my phone number as prompted. What happened next was unacceptable. A man, who I assume is either the manager or owner, suddenly rushed over, grabbed my bag without asking, and checked the terminal to verify my transaction. It was invasive and accusatory. There was absolutely no reason to treat me like I was trying to leave without paying--especially when I had just completed the payment in front of staff, with a digital trail to prove it. This behavior felt profiling, disrespectful, and completely unnecessary. There is a professional way to handle confusion at the register (if there even was confusion), but what I experienced was rude and degrading. Food aside, no one deserves to be treated like this. There are plenty of sushi places in the area, and I will not be supporting an establishment that makes customers feel singled out, disrespected, or mistrusted. I will not be returning. read more

She yelled at the waitress berating her for sitting us down and told her to tell us to hurry up and order as kitchen was closing. Then she stared us down and had a NASTY STANK LOOK on her face with her coat on wanting to leave. She should've just left if she wanted to leave so badly. We've been diners for years and never had an issue like this before. The staff has always been nice and the food has been great. I full heartedly agree with fellow Yelpers describing this location as a hidden gem- the specialty sushi roll combinations are unique, delicious, and reasonably priced. We have been to this location on numerous occasions, though parking is an absolute strip mall mess-it's worth the frustrating navigation. This particular visit we tried the Playboy (bit too creamy with an overpowering avocado) * the Yashi Maki roll (absolutely delicious chunks of fresh veggies). I was excited to try this place and the menu looks fantastic - about a ga-zillion rolls to choose from. Service was great but the food? Not-so-much. The Ginger scallop specialty roll (wrapped in pink soy paper) was gorgeous but had a fishy taste and I am not even sure those really were scallops - sliced paper thin and little "chips" of fishy-tasting cooked "scallops". For $15 - I actually could not eat it. I ate 2 of the 8 maki pieces and left the rest. The sushi chef was funny and entertaining. They also comped me a tempura crabstick appetizer and a sliver of cheesecake (did not ask for these). Lots of gloppy sauces hiding not-the-best-quality fish. Very Americanized.
