As someone who spend many summers in Bacolod in the Philippines, I've desperately missed the food. The chicken inasal. The garlic rice. The lechon. This place NAILS my best childhood meals and makes the best of Bacolod accessible to us in Maryland. Tried Namit at the Asian festival. The line was long, and they may be cooking food fresh to order because we waited another half hour for the food. Well... it was worth it. Never, have I ever heard of "chicken" sisig so of course, we had to try it. It was PERfECTLY cooked, so fragrant and flavorful. My favorite ! Bite sized pieces of chicken garnished with light suace, scallions and red pepper. Yummy! Good sisig is near impossible to find, and here it is . Try it. Next best is the Pork Belly Lechon. Very delicious bbq and the garlic rice is almost like the Aristocrat Restaurant's Java rice in the Philippines, delicious. I wish they could slather a little bit more sauce on the bbq though or give us a small container of sauce. I love the Atchara when they first started but now they added raw onions and it tastes different now, and I don't like it. I wish they would bring back the original version. The chicken Inasal is okay. Doesn't taste like real Inasal. Maybe it needs to marinate longer in the Inasal marinade? I don't know. I like it that they are local and easy to get to. I'd been looking forward to today since Namit Filipino BBQ's last visit near my office. After waiting nearly an hour to order and receive my food, I have to say that I was a bit disappointed in what I received overall. I ordered a chicken & pork combo platter, a lechon chicharon platter, and 6 lumpia, so that I'd have some extra to bring home for my family to try. A third of the chicharon weren't fully cooked, which I found out after biting into one of the pieces and encountering raw pork belly. I had a bite of the pork skewer, which was very good - well-marinated & with a nice char. The first bite of the chicken skewer was also slightly undercooked, even after being charred over some fairly high flames, which were very visible from the back door. The lumpia had a decent crunch, but not much filling, and they seemed smaller than the ones I had last month. And they were out of pancit noodles. Again. While I realize that they're very popular and need to feed a bunch of people in a short amount of time, serving undercooked food isn't how to do that. I may give them another try next month, but only if I can order ahead and not spend another hour waiting for it. read more

I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great local business specializing in Filipino food to cater their own special event! I couldn't imagine our wedding having any other caterer! When my partner Derrick and I were planning our multicultural wedding celebration, I knew that I wanted to feature Filipino cuisine and that we wanted to support a small, local business in the Washington, DC area. We searched around across many different vendors that offered Filipino dishes, but Namit was the only one to completely blow us away with how good the food was across the board. Not only did we love it, but it was also parent-approved and they're tough to please when it comes to Filipino food! I have an affinity for several Asian cuisines such as Vietnamese, Chinese, Korean, and Japanese and am happy to now add Filipino cuisine to the list. I ordered the pork ribs platter and pork lumpia for myself and the chicken skewers platter for my hubby. Each platter is served with atchara (green papaya relish), cucumbers, and garlic rice or garlic noodles (pancit) for an additional $2. Upon arrival, I was told it would be a few minutes since I arrived early. After a few minutes, I was apologetically informed that they ran out of the pancit and was refunded $2. My order was ready 5 minutes later than my pickup time. Normally I wouldn't mind, but it was cold. The downside of food trucks and having to wait in cold or wet conditions. The bbq aroma permeated in the air and smelled amazing. When my hubby opened the box he commented immediately on the lovely presentation. One bite into the platter and it made me keep wanting more. Everything was so delicious and fragrant. The edges of the ribs were a little more crispy than I would have liked, but the interior was very moist and tender. Next time, I will ask for more sweet chili sauce for my lumpia. I wasn't sure if I'd like the atchara, but my husband and I both really enjoyed it. It was light and refreshing. This was his first time having Filipino food and he really enjoyed it and said he would have it again. I could definitely see this being in our rotation. There are two standouts from the first of what I believe will be many visits: 1) lechon chicharron and 2) atchara--both do these items are the very best of each that I've tried ever. Their lechon chicharron is what is (i think) sometimes also called lechon kawali: perfectly fried cubes of pork belly. Sincerely, the way they cook this is perfection--crispy skin and goldenness! What I love about their atchara (papaya salad) is that it's perfectly seasoned, especially because it's not overly sweet. Amazing--I've been looking for a non-cloying atchara for a long, long time. Initially, I thought $18 was a bit steep but the serving was a nice portion! It came with a hefty scoop of garlic rice, a small atcharra on the side, couple thick slices of cucumber and 2 sauces- soy sauce & lechon sauce. I tried to order online for pickup but didn't work so had to go in person to put in my order. The food truck was parked right outside of Black Flag Brewing Company. I ordered chicken inasal sisig, batchoy noodle soup, pork bbq ribs and ube cheesecake. This was my first time trying out Filipino food so I can't really speak for how authentic it is But taste wise, it was good. Batchoy noodle soup looked different from the pictures I've seen and had no egg, no green onions ‍ but it was flavorful and reminded me of pork ramen. As for chicken sisig, there was too much charred pieces in my food in my opinion but decent. The pork rib was ok, nothing special. As for the ube cheesecake, it was delicious!
