Dinner arrived from Poke Ocean in Morrisville, PA, having survived the perilous journey from kitchen to hotel lobby in a paper bag that looked as though it had seen things. Inside were shrimp shumai, gyoza, Chili Korean Bao, a two-protein poke burrito stuffed with crab meat and spicy tuna, plus a spicy tuna roll and a spicy scallop roll. This is more food than any two people strictly need, which is one of civilization's finer achievements. The good news: nothing was bad. Not a single bite asked to be forgiven. The shrimp shumai were the clear overachievers: plump, warm, and reassuring, like a friendly lecture from someone who actually did the reading. The spicy scallop roll was their equal, delivering that perfect balance of heat and sweetness that makes you briefly optimistic about the future of humankind. The poke burrito was ambitious, a bold little manifesto wrapped in rice and seaweed. Crab meat and spicy tuna got along just fine, though the whole affair leaned more toward "good" than "revelation." The spicy tuna roll was solid and dependable, like a Midwestern uncle who always shows up on time. The gyoza and Chili Korean Bao did their jobs honorably, though neither demanded a standing ovation. Everything arrived intact, flavorful, and prepared by people who seemed to care, always a comfort in an indifferent universe. We ordered takeout sushi burritos. I will say that the food was absolutely delicious and that is most important. My son thought the portion could have been bigger, but I think it was cause it was so tasty he wanted more. 5 stars! Service was good in that the place was absolutely empty and they did take my order quickly. That said, at most build your own places. They'll provide like a checklist you can mark and since I was ordering for 2 people that would have been helpful. 4 stars Ambiance had something to be desired. I'd very much recommend ordering takeout. The place inside was actually very nice and had a good vibe... but there was an overwhelming chemical smell that I could have never been able to eat around. The good news is that it was definitely from some sort of cleaning product. Disinfectant? Bleach? Degreaser? Sanitizer? So from a cleanliness perspective, im reassured that they are thorough. Well here is the thing. My work associate and I were hungry for dinner. We looked up Asian by the hotel and none were open late except this place. It's in a pretty non descript strip mall by planet fitness. It's bigger than I thought. Booths and tables. A few people in enjoying food. Decorated with wood, fishing stuff. We both ordered a poke bowl. You follow the menu options and just go down the list. I got chicken and sweet potato. Sweet potato was great. Chicken not so much. Just didn't like it. Got carrots, endame, lettuce, cucumber, avocado. Brown rice and sweet chili sauce but I did not get that. I think I got terriaki. Just sos so. It's very big and filling. Couldn't finish. We also got the veggie goza. They were burnt and the age tofu. Everything was just ok. Plus it seemed like it might be dirty but I have no evidence to that. Maybe I just wasn't impressed and I am putting things on them. Best part is prices are good and you get good value. IDK probably not a repeat of I am ever back in town. read more

Polk ocean is one of these places I'll writer of you every time we go because I'm always reminded how wonderful the services how incredibly fresh the food is any incredible presentations that this photographer loves to see. On this Sunday night my wife and I because of the weather we're in the mood for sushi. We started off with an order the Shumai, which is always so delicate flavorful and light tasting. We then decided to go down the sushi route starting off with the crunchy spicy, tuna, roll, wrapped in soy paper, followed by the purple love role in soy paper. This is our all-time favorite role . And my new second favorite role is the Nake Salmon Role. Everything is made with an eye to detail attention in the ingredients and attention to the plating. No wonder there's always a lineup for takeout orders, but I have to tell you you need to treat yourself and come in and see the food presented on the plate. This used to be our go-to poke place. Local, consistent, and delicious. But the last two times we ordered from here were not great. Feel like quality control has slipped. My husband ordered the two protein bowl with both ahi tuna, the same thing he has gotten many times. It looked off when he got home, - like a light pink. He said it didn't taste right either. The bowl also was warm instead of cold how the raw fish should be). It appears they cooked the ahi before adding it to his bowl? That isn't even an option on the takeout website! Dug the receipt out of the trash and, yep, says "cooked." Why would they do that without a special request? Ruined his meal as no one felt like going back to complain. My shrimp tempura poke bowl was just ok. Still tasted good but the bowl was like 90% rice. And it was too sticky. It's supposed to be a bit sticky but this was absurd. Needed to really try hard to mix my bowl. Wasn't that appetizing. read more

I have been going here for years now and only just now am I writing a review lol. This place is the best sushi place in the area, now there are better sushi places out there as theres always gonna be a bigger fish, but those are more expensive and farther away. If you're looking for a "cheaper" (sushi not cheap lol) option in the area this is a great spot!! The staff are also ALWAYS nice. Depending on when you go it can either be packed or nice and quiet. The rice is pretty moist unlike the reviews saying its dry (i think they are saying it because they dont put a lot of sauce on their poke bowls). Overall I think their sushi is good quality and they do douse that in sauce if it comes with sauce, but their poke bowls could use some work on more sauce. I think they put just enough protein in there as well to mix with the other toppings on it and not overpack the bowl. My friends and I were around the area and was looking to eat a quick dinner before heading to our shows. We went online and browsed this place and decided to settle our dinner here. Big parking outside but the plaza probably need to work on redoing some pavement there. First impression of the restaurant was not bad. It was pretty clean and quiet. The waitress quickly set up our tables and provided our menus. So far so good. Now here is why I ended up giving 2 stars for being an OK restaurant. Firstly, there are two ladies in there but only one can take orders or willing to take orders. Our waitress was missing and this lady said she will be back and just stood there. She would only do the carrying food out and other waitress job but cant take an order. Weird. Secondly, the only thing I recommend from here is probably their sushi. Yes, this is a Japanese poke place so they better have some good quality sushi. I don't recommend anything else besides sushi. No teriyaki, no soba, etc. i ordered a chicken teriyaki for my kids to share. The chicken is dry af! My 18mos with teeth spits them out. My 5yo don't even wanna touch it. I tried and i wanna spit that out and not touch it again. Waste of money. Next, my friend ordered a poke bowl, chicken soba, and beef fried rice. Poke bowl is sushi so should be good right? Nope. Maybe the protein part cause that's sashimi. But they can't customize the bowl to half rice and half salad. Fine! Then just salad. Their salad inside the poke bowl was like two dingy lettuce. Really now? Now that chicken soba was not soba at all. We all know what soba noodle looks like and taste like. The dish came out all soggy. The beef fried rice portion looks decent but taste wise, i don't know now. Another friend also ordered shrimp fried rice. Same thing, portion looks not too bad, but taste i'm not sure. I only know they will not want to reorder. The fried rice all have these white pepper taste inside. My guess is one either they wanna have that spicy kick in the fried rice or two, it's to cover up the MSG. It's just not too satisfying that the kids end up complaining about the spice when we thought these fried rice are suitable for young kids to eat. And to our surprise, the beef fried rice actually cost way more than their shrimp fried rice, which is a bit strange to us as all other places are usually the opposite on that. After all the bads, one good thing I hear was my husband complimenting about their Chirashi because they do offer a few more pieces compare to other places. My husband ordered the shrimp tempura. Even with delivery, the tempura was hot and crispy. A friend ordered a chicken tempura roll. The roll was crispy, large, and fresh. A must order. It's great to see the effort being made to attract new ventures to the shopping centers on Trenton Road in Morrisville, PA. For too long this area has been struggling to attract customers. The best way to make a commercial zone less sketchy is to provide activities that can be enjoyed with the family. Good and entertaining food is part of the equation. Poke Ocean while not a home run, it a solid contributor with its sushi/poke/udon/teriyaki orientation. Three other food outlets are under construction as I write. The floorplan looks alot like the previous BBQ joint that ran out of steam last year. It is just cleaned up a bit. Service is cordial and efficient with the right Asian flair. Lunch is served from 11 to 3, although there does not appear to be a poke list discounted for lunch, making the other parts of the afternoon offerings the more appealing. I asked for the salmon teriyaki lunch which included miso soup, iceberg ginger goop salad, white rice and a nice salmon filet over sauteed onion and carrot slivers. The amber sauce was quite good. Additionally, I received a complimentary fried veggie roll, which I liked. The lunch was good, although I really don't get the attachment to the iceberg salad, found in every sushitorium in the country. It is all water with that thick orange ginger dressing. Without nutritional value, I would prefer a different option with a more interesting taste/texture profile. How about edamame? 3.5 STARS read more

This restaurant is not open for indoor dining, so this review is based on two experiences with take out. The first meal, sushi rolls & a sashimi appetizer, was very good. Everything was fresh and neatly prepared. The second meal, a repeat of every item on the first menu, was not too great. The sashimi order was incorrectly filled as sushi, so instead of giving us the fish we paid for, we got a lot of rice & less fish. The tuna on the rainbow roll was positively chewy & parts of it inedible. The yellowtail was bordering on not fresh tasting. We'll try them once more; perhaps they were having a bad day. read more

I tried this place because I felt all the sushi places in Newtown, PA were waaaaay too overpriced. It was a good find. I saw that they had a 12 sashimi lunch for $12. That's a great deal seeing as all other place have it for $14-$16 for 9-12 sashimi. I ordered online and went to go pick it up. They give you 10% off if you choose pickup (because they don't deliver anymore says their website). The sashimi was SO GOOD. The fish was really fresh. It was cut really thick, which I like. I don't like when places skimp you and give you little slivers of sashimi. They had a good mix of different fish in the sashimi lunch, it wasn't just salmon, tuna, and yellowtail. They even put 2 pieces of fatty tuna in there and I know that stuff is usually really expensive. Aside from the salmon and tuna, i wouldn't tell what the other fish one. One was really fishy (which I also like. Fish like mackerel that's salty and fishy), and the other was bland with some roe on it. It came with a little container of rice, maybe 1 cup of rice. It was very plain rice without seasoning on it. It also came with a small miso soup and salad. I actually really loved the salad dressing. It was the best carrot ginger dressing I've eaten in a while. I didn't eat the soup because I can't have soy but it did look good. Overall, great quality for the price. You get huge chunks of sashimi. I'll have to go back and try poke sometime. read more

Poke ocean surprises me. It's not the offsetting location , minimal room that could be spruced up a bit but whenever I sit down I feel oh is it going to be good tonight ? I get nervous. Sure enough a age tofu crispy and hot with bonito flakes flying around calms my fears and reminds me im having a great dinner tonight. I always order hand rolls to start. At one point the nori was not crispy enough but had a word with the waitress and I get crunch nori from Now on. I appreciate that kind of service. The blue fin Tina here is extra but let me tell you it's divine. Melts in you're mouth and worth ordering. It's like next level. The tempura roll is as good as you can get. A few times the shrimp weren't hot hot but they fixed that. I do not like their version of Korean dumpling soup. It's just that KO does it so much better. The bai buns filling were excellent we got pork belly the bun themselves were stale and hard. I hope they steam them and not microwave. Also not super expensive, it's more than possible to share an appetizer with two poke bowls. The atmosphere while sitting down to eat isn't always the best, so takeout is definitely the way to go. So, I have to update my prior review. And I just have to say that I have been here maybe, 4+ times. Every single time I come, I get mostly the same thing. A poke bowl with ahi tuna, salmon, brown rice, cucumber, red onion, carrot, cilantro, seaweed salad, spicy aoli, lotus chips, wonton crisps, and onion crisps. And every single time I come here, I have mild gastrointestinal issues for the rest of the day. I am torn about lowering their review, because I love their food so much. In fact, I didn't lower their review after the many times I came here and had issues, simply because I loved them so much and didn't want to have to say something bad when the food is so delicious and afforable. But unfortunately, I have noticed myself having really bad gas and having to pass stool 3-5 times in an evening after I eat their poke bowls, every time. It sounds funny, but it's true... And I came to the conclusion that it is their food because it only happens after I eat here. Trust me, I am an avid lover of raw fish dishes, and this happens at no other poke or sushi establishment I have ever been to. I am beginning to think that there is something wrong with their preparation or storage of food. It sucks, because from now on I will probably not be able to come back.
