A delicious meal! We ordered a breakfast bowl and the chicken and biscuits, and both were delicious. The sausage gravy was outstanding- perfect balance of creamy and spicy with visible chunks of sausage. The chicken on my chicken and biscuit was piping hot and juicy. Daughter loved her bowl which also had the delicious gravy. Service was excellent, with fresh Arnold Palmers delivered promptly and kept full. We wandered in around lunch time, coming from a hike out at Cincinnati Nature Center and looking for something close-ish but not a chain. This delivered! The location is a little obscure, in a little strip mall off Highway 32. Plenty of parking. The strip mall looks dated but don't be deterred! The interior of the restaurant is fresh, new, cute and clean. We were one of 4 sets of customers being served on a Wednesday lunch time. read more

I stopped here on my way home from church. The place, for being brunch time, wasn't super busy, but steady. Service was quick and the atmosphere, with its eclectic music, is very relaxed. I ordered the Works omelet, and they weren't kidding. This giant omelet, which I crushed, was loaded with a little of everything. This was my second time here. I ordered the chicken and waffles with coffee, my granddaughter got the breakfast bowl. My food was good, hot and fresh. the coffee however was lukewarm at best. My granddaughter's bowl was not good. The potatoes had a burnt taste that I believe was burned garlic. The service was good, once she finally came back to take our order. It was surprising that it took her so long because there was only one other table in the restaurant when we got there. I was surprised that it was so slow at lunchtime on a Friday. This is an extremely cute, and well ran business! The food was way better than I expected. Way better quality than any breakfast I have had in a long time. Our server Phoenix was extremely nice the entire visit, always checking up on how our experience was. Free refills to top it all off. The price was very reasonable. Went here on a Sunday after church expecting to be busy and it was not. I was wondering if it had something to do with the labor shortage, and I think it did. We say ourselves but it took awhile for anyone to serve us or take our order. Then it took awhile to get our food. I have driven by a billboard for this place every day for months and finally decided to give it a try! Typically places a little further out from more populated places don't veer off the typical menu items often, so I was pleasantly surprised to see some interesting options at this little breakfast/brunch joint in Batavia. I had the chorizo breakfast tacos with a side of goetta (HAD to try it). Both were really good! The tacos were filled with chorizo and fluffy scrambled eggs and topped with cheese, pico de gallo and slices of avocado. A little hot sauce would have kicked it up a notch, but I'm not too big on spicy things at breakfast time. The goetta was homemade, which I find is always a treat! It was formed into thin patties and fried until the outside was delightfully crispy. Overall a great little joint that I will definitely be hitting up more often! read more

My wife and I had a rough morning, visiting the ER at 3 in the morning, so when we left at about 7:30, we were not wanting to cook. Decided to stop here, where we've been eyeing for a few months. We don't usually get out to breakfast, so figured we'd take advantage of the opportunity. The restaurant had just opened less than an hour ago, so we were the first ones there. Our server got us drinks promptly, water for me and coffee for my wife. We looked over the menu, and my wife chose the veggie omelet, while I landed on the meat omelet (which I was delighted to note came not just with meat and cheese, but also mushrooms. I nice little addition that shows we meat lovers are not just one-dimensional carnivores). The food came out probably ten minutes later. Each meal also came with a side of breakfast potatoes and some nice thick buttered toast. I added a dab of ketchup to my omelet and dug in. Unfortunately, it was rather bland. Eggs basically only need salt to be quick tasty, but it seemed like they had none. There was of course salt and pepper at the table, but it doesn't give quite the same flavor. The bacon, sausage, and ham inside the omelet were good on their own, but didn't really blend with the flavors of the eggs too well. It seemed more like I was eating a bunch of separate ingredients than a meal. And the mushrooms were only half cooked. As for the sides, the potatoes were also lacking in seasoning and could have been crispier, but the buttered toast was actually quite tasty. My wife said she felt very similarly about her food as I did mine. She also thought the coffee was just okay. Overall, our service was good and prices were affordable, but the food itself was pretty lackluster. read more

We proceeded to sit there for 45 minutes waiting on our food. We had places to be and so we left after waiting 45 minutes and didn't get to eat. While we were sitting there waiting, we saw numerous people standing at the front desk waiting for someone to come and so could pay. Just had an outstanding breakfast at this little gem. When we walked in we were impressed by the decor, the cleanliness, and the atmosphere. My husband's coffee and my tea was served in Crate & Barrel coffee mugs! Best coffee mug hands down! He said the coffee was outstanding. The menu has a variety of options. I ordered the Hot Brown, (I am a bit of a Hot Brown Snob). It was prepared with Ciabatta bread, Hollandaise sauce, and an egg on top, with a side of salt & pepper chips. Service was slow. The most uncomfortable chairs I've ever tried to sit in. You'll be in them a while because as slow as the service is getting your food is just as slow. You don't get your meal all at once. You get in stages. Eggs are way overcooked. "Sausage" gravy had no sausage in it. The only reason they get 1 star is because the server was nice. I ordered the avocado toast. The description states, 'fresh avocado topped with bacon, tomatoes, and onion, and a sunny side up egg.' Sounds great! It comes out, and the egg is completely cold. I'm assuming this is because the avocado, tomato, onion, and bacon mixture has come straight out of the freezer. The onions and avocado were translucent and rubbery; there was no flavor at all, and the egg was undercooked. I scraped the nasty mixture off and spread some jelly on the dry toast. My dad ordered a meat omelet with a side of crispy hash browns. The "omelet" was nothing more than scrambled eggs folded over the meat, and his hash browns were burnt and inedible. My son good the doughnut holes, and they were overcooked and greasy, but he enjoyed them anyway. They also charged $3.00 for a kids' apple juice. The table across from us got burnt bacon and asked for a new order that was less crispy. The waitress brought out more bacon that looked exactly the same as the first batch. I don't think the cooks know what they're doing. We will not be going back. read more

While it is nice to have a new small breakfast spot I'm Batavia this place is kind of a let down. It had cool decor but the actual food and drink part was extremely lacking. The food was heavily under seasoned, the iced coffee was just watered down hot coffee (and only one flavor option - vanilla), and everything just tasted boring. I got the breakfast tacos and was extremely let down - first the "plate" couldn't even hold the tacos so it was a huge mess. The eggs were bland and the homemade pico was just cut up tomatoes. We also had the breakfast bowl (bland and egg way overcooked) and pancakes (bland and extremely dry). For the total cost it wasn't really worth it and we will most likely not check this place out again. read more

Check your order against drivers delivery order, have them hold up the phone. People who order dash services could be anywhere. So provide a plastic fork and some napkins so they can eat the food you send and not wipe there hand on their pants. If your serving a bland food like eggs or biscuits and gravy, toss in a packet of salt and pepper Get seals for the bags so customer knows it has not been tampered with. read more

A very cute spot in a strip mall in Batavia. The decor is nicely done and the menu looks tempting and leans hipster at first glance, with options like Beyond Burgers (no beef burgers at all!). The wait staff is also very friendly and accommodating. However for a place trying to cater to newer sensibilities, a lot is off the mark with the food. There was a lack of seasoning pervasive across everything. (When an omelette that has bacon, sausage and ham in it needs salt, that's a bad sign.) The "waffled" biscuit is just a biscuit, left to go cold and then briefly reheated in a waffle iron. (I would've imagined biscuit dough thrown directly into a waffle iron based on their description.) The eggs in the breakfast bowl were a single disc of overcooked beaten egg, again lacking in seasoning. The restaurant also has no butter! There is a whipped soybean oil spread at the table and the waitress confirmed their biscuits are made with "liquid margarine" (huh?!). A breakfast spot with no butter in the house is no breakfast spot to me. For a place striving to replicate First Watch's formula there is a lot that needs fixing with the food. But maybe it won't matter, there's not a lot of competition around here, so maybe what they're doing is just enough. Still, I'd love to see the care placed in the decor and wait staff's attentiveness carry over into the food itself. read more

Were there this afternoon, not a good choice. They have an open sign in the window, it was not turned on. The right door, of the double doors, going into the restaurant, was locked. I thought they were closed. In hindsight, I should've walked away and sat down. The first booth had rings were drinks were, it's a food particles on the table. The second booth had the same, but to a lesser extent. We ordered our drinks and our food. Half of our food was not delivered, and they spent time to make the other half. There were two other people dining at the time. The waiter that was waiting on the table next to us was loud and complaining about him, supposed to being off at one, but it was 104 our waitress it checked her watch two or three times, and did an OK job. They did not bring syrup with the pancakes, no butter for the toast, and there was no sugar packets on our table for coffee. We went to an adjoining table and brought some sugar packets over. It is quite evident that there is no management there, we will not go back, the food was bland at best, we would've received better food and service and pricing from waffle house. It is a shame, because I like to support local businesses, but they showed nothing to be supported. read more
