Hands down the best sandwich I have ever eaten. We ordered the tacchina and a side tomato salad. Everyone was super friendly and it was crowded. The bread is homemade and the ingredients are so fresh. I felt like I was in Italy again. Worth the wait.
Wow!! Absolutely delicious sandwiches! Flavors that work really well together and so fresh and delicious. I got the roasted eggplant and thoroughly enjoyed it. Also got the bag of truffle chips which were also great. The service was friendly and while busy for lunch we were able to get a table and the lunch rush passed quickly. I would definitely go again next time in Cincinnati!
The first thing you notice when you walk in is the yummy smell and the friendly greeting. The shop is cozy with a lot of natural light, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I got the Classica and my daughter got the Picante. They were both very good but if you like pesto definitely get the classica, it is delicious. While the sandwiches are pricey, you get a lot for your money. Great toppings, great meats, delicious bread. Highly recommend.

One helpful note for first-time visitors is to walk all the way inside to place your order at the register in the back. We ordered the L'Alveo and the La Rossa, and both were outstanding. They happened to be serving them on gluten-free bread that day, due to the mad rush and honestly, I never would have known it was fantastic. The sandwiches were fresh, flavorful, and incredibly filling. The L'Alveo was rich, creamy, and wonderfully indulgent, while the La Rossa was bright and refreshing. The eggplant in the La Rossa was the star. Every bite was excellent. What really made the experience stand out, though, was the hospitality. The owner was warm, welcoming, and clearly passionate. We'll definitely be back. If you're thinking about trying this place, don't wait! Get there early before they sell out for the day!

I don't know but I cannot wait to get back. I got the Alveo, their namesake, truffle chips, a flavored sparkling water and sat outside and felt like I traveled to Europe. What a delightful experience. The young lady at the counter was so helpful and kind, those making sandwiches were efficient but took their time and while it was steady and busy nothing felt rushed. If you're in the area stop. If you're not, it's worth going out of your way. Way out of your way!

My lady and I found this sandwich shop on Instagram and knew we had to try it. Luckily, it was pretty close by, though their hours made it a little tricky. They're only open Monday-Friday from 10am til 4pm. The place itself is relatively small with some inside and outside seating. All the bread is fresh made and the meats are cut to order. Their menu isn't huge but has a nice selection of sandwiches, chips, drinks, and cookies. Here's what we got: -La classica- prosciutto cotto, fresh mozzarella, pistachio basil pesto, tomato conserva, arugula, lemon oil -Piccante- spicy coppa, stracciatella, giardiniera, pecorino Romano, arugula, chili oil -Black truffle potato chips Both sandwiches were pretty big and very tasty. The schiacciatta bread was very soft and flavorful. These sandwiches are best eaten right away for peak freshness and flavor. They may seem a bit pricey, but with the level of quality you get, it's definitely worth it. My lady and I will certainly be back for more.

Alveo makes you believe you are back in Italy, walking the streets of Florence with a giant sandwich in hand. Great sandwiches, fresh ingredients, and great people; what's not to love?! Our first time here we had the Rustica which has the most delicious black truffle honey on it. That combined with the ricotta is perfection in your mouth! The sandwiches are big so you can definitely split with another person and get some chips to share too!
It was packed for a Saturday lunch! I got the piccante and it was just the right amount of spicy. The bread was light, airy, and fluffy. The sandwiches are pretty big and you could split with someone else. The ingredients were fresh and I love that they slice the meat fresh for each sandwich! We really enjoyed our sandwich, I can't wait to come back for more!

It's baked in the shop - you smell it and immediately start salivating upon entry. The meat and fillings were so tasty! The sandwiches are quite large. We got two and fed three people, with chips and drinks. The menu is very focused, so there's no need to dilly dally: just order, and wait while they assemble from fresh ingredients (you can watch). There was a steady stream of customers, and little tables for waiting or eating in. Also some tables outside. We took ours to go, and parked in spots along the side of the building. People are going to find out about this place! So good. We'll be back for sure!

Located in the heart of Mariemont this small sandwich shop maybe easy to miss at first glance. But it is a phenomenal little restaurant. They offer take out, indoor and out door dining. From the moment you enter, the smell of freshly baked focaccia bread fills the air. Their menu is not extensive but each entry lists fresh and delicious ingredients. We tried the tuna and their namesake sandwich. We couldn't pick a favorite between the two. The ingredients were top quality and the flavors blended together beautifully. It's worth the wait- the service was friendly. The prices are more expensive than a chain sandwich shop - but oh so worth it due to the quality. The portions are large. read more
Do you want the BEST sandwich the area has to offer? Look no further than Alveo, where everything is amazing. Service was excellent. Somehow they could tell I was new to Alveo, and they explained the process. Cashier was very sweet. Owner/Head chef took the time to chat with me, it obvious he cares as much about the ingredients as he does the customers' experience. Top notch dude. The sandwich? Criminally delicious. All the ingredients of the Tacchina were different temps, textures, flavors, so when they came together between the bread, it was an unparalleled experience. If they sold the GF focaccia by the loaf, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. I respect the ingredients of the chips, just didn't love the flavor and texture (olive oil) and the bag is big enough to share with a friend. Tried the orange Italian soda, wasn't a fav, but maybe another flavor would be better. Would like to see more umbrellas for the patio, but I was lucky to snag a spot in the shade, at that point in the day. Alveo is the best sandwich I've had in 7 years of living here! Oh wow, how I love alveo! The fresh baked bread and high-quality ingredients make the sandwich something special. I ordered the la Classica and took it to a nearby park. Highly recommend. The sandwiches are pricey but they are huge. I was able to share about half of it with my three year-old and still felt well filled. read more
As a True Italian, I couldn't wait to try out this place, and it lived up to the expectations! Food was great, I got a La Rustica and the prosciutto crudo was thinly sliced and so tender! The honey truffle was very well complementing the focaccia! All the service was great, staff checked on us upon our arrival and before we left. Great ambiance, it's worth stopping by! read more
My friends and I went to Italy 10 years ago and had a sandwich so epic it has henceforth only been known as "the sandwich". When Alveo opened, we rushed in to see if they could duplicate that magic. The mission was a success. Our huge sandwiches were full of tender meats, rich cheeses, and a variety of sauces. I had la classica. Every single ingredient, from the fluffy bread to the texture of the pistachio basil pesto had so much intentionality behind it and it came through in every bite. Bonus points for the Italian soda and some of the best chips I've ever had. What's more, the sandwich was big enough for two meals. Grateful for this taste of Italy in Cincy. read more

I saw Alveo on Instagram and found out it's just down the street from where I live! Yay! Now... trying to find the time to go because they don't open on weekends and only during the day from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. So glad I had the day off. I went a little after 11:00 am and they were slammed! This place is located in Mariemont next to the elementary school. There's parking on the front, side and back. Seating indoors is limited and only few seating outdoors. This is a Roman sandwich shop all made with fresh ingredients and deli meats. Their signature Schiacciatta bread is made daily. They do have gluten free upon request. Their menu is VERY simple. Only one page 7 different sandwiches to choose from. Sides are different types of chips and drinks in the refrigerated section. The only dessert served is their cookies. Ordered: -La classica- prosciutto cotto, fresh mozzarella, pistachio basil pesto, tomato conserva, arugula, lemon oil -Piccante- spicy coppa, stracciatella, giardiniera, pecorino Romano, arugula, chili oil -A bag of Black truffle potato chips The sandwiches start at $16.00, price ranges depending on which sandwich you get. Trust me, the price is worth it. The fresh slices of meats and ingredients go so well together and it's massive! You can get two meals out of it. Me and my Mr enjoyed every bit of it! The first two visits I had the La Classica and thoroughly enjoyed the sandwich which is packed with flavor. Think gourmet Italian sandwich. The third visit I ordered the L'Avelo and it too is delicious! The pistachio creama listed in the contents had me a touch skeptical but after the quality of the La Classica, I decided to give it a try. Good decision! read more

I love Sebastian's so I was ecstatic about Alveo opening. Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed. I ordered the La Rustica, and there was hardly and prosciutto in it. The fillings did not reach the sides of the sandwich, so I had many bites of just bread. Also, as someone who loves truffle, I found the truffle honey to be very overpowering--so much so that I couldn't finish the sandwich. I'd love about half that amount of truffle in the honey. Went on a Friday and it was very busy--waited about 30 minutes to order and receive our food. Due to skimpy fillings, I don't think it's worth the high cost. read more

The sandwiches here are out- of- this- world good, and very big! It's a two meal sandwich for us for sure. We have been to Italy, and the La Classica is the closest thing we have had to the sandwich we had in Vernazza. The bread is fantastic, and the ingredients are well balanced and so fresh. We have also tried the Tacchina with smoked turkey that we would order again. If you like traditional Mortadella, the La Alveo is for you. We thought the mortadella had too much clove-like flavor that was overpowering, but that's just us. The folks that work there are so nice, and even though there is a line, it goes fast. There are a few places to sit inside and out, but I get carryout. I travel way out of my way to get sandwiches here! read more

I just tried Alveo and it was nothing short of amazing. It taste like it came straight from Italy. All ingredients were absolutely perfect. The truffle honey made the La Rustica amazing. I can't wait to come back and try more. read more
Saw an instagram post about this new spot, the sandwiches looked great so I stopped in. Did not disappoint. Super clean, friendly staff, tons of customers but the line moved quick; the team was pumping out sandwiches. Went with La Classica: super fresh ingredients and crispy bread, pesto on it was a great touch. Can't wait to go back to try other items! read more

I didn't get great photos but GREAT sandwich. Very large and filling with fresh ingredients. Friendly staff and a quick pick up from ordering online. I had La Rustica and it was delicious. I definitely will be back to try some other sandwiches as well. read more
