Busy place with good food! Adds 3% if you pay with a credit (not a debit) card. We got here without a reservation on a Monday around noon (May 2026). While they were busy, we didnt have to wait long for a booth. Our server quickly offered strong hot $4 coffee and a personal teapot to brew our $4 Earl Grey. There were season recipes available, but we found what we wanted on the regular menu. $10 Eggs As You Wish gave us two over-easy eggs, super-crispy hash brown sticks, our choice of slightly-sweet whole grain toast, and a $4 add-on of a savory oatey local pork-beef hash called goetta, much like Maryland's corn-based scrapple. We had more good old breakfast food: a $12 stack of fluffy buttermilk pancakes with whipped butter, light powdered sugar, a maple syrup, with a side of goetta included. Both were breakfasts that were a perfect traditional balance of flavor and texture. We had luscious $14 Smoked Salmon Toast on richly-flavored multigrain toast, made into a crunchy fresh sandwich with caper-dotted cream cheese, crisp cucumber slices, sliced red onion, and tasty microgreens. And we went vegetarian with $11.50 Vegetable multigrain Toast: creamy avocado, thick ripe tomato, pickled red onion, fresh cucumber, thin radish slices, and microgreens All of the food was delicious and creative, and that includes the tasty well-crafted vegetarian offerings. Prices were quite reasonable. The staff was welcoming and attentive. We ate at a leisurely pace with generous coffee refills, and never felt rushed. We envied those who thought to ask for patio-seating. They do add 3% to credit-card payments (not to debit-cards), which is posted so you know ahead of time. My daughter got her temps at the BMV across the street and we wandered over for brunch to celebrate. Generally my pescatarian kiddo is relegated to only the sweet dishes on a brunch menu, but Toast and Berry had plenty she could try! My wife and I have often decided against dining here simply because of the frustration with the system. On several occasions, we've seen walk-ins seated ahead of those already on the waitlist. Even worse, the notifications are inconsistent: we'll receive a message saying our table will be ready in 10 minutes, only to get another update pushing the wait back by 30 minutes. At that point, we usually head to another restaurant, only to receive a message minutes later that our table is suddenly ready. Because of this, the restaurant ends up sending a lot of business across the street to the Original Pancake Factory. If they could get their waitlist process under control, this place would truly be unbeatable. If you want something similar I would highly recommend LaPeep and they can manage a wait list. read more

Had never heard of this place but checked it out with a friend. Apparently it was the place to be for brunch on a Monday! I'm not sure there were more than two or three tables left open when we sat. The menu looked great, I honestly would've had anything. I got the fruit oats and split the blueberry lemon French toast- had to try it because of the name of the restaurant :) The oatmeal was yummy and the French toast was as well, it was just very dense and I could've used a bit more lemon. I liked this restaurant but bear in mind you will most likely wait to get seated. I found a spot in the parking lot and went in to add my name to the waitlist and the told me the wait would be approximately 2 hours. When I was seated I asked if they were overly busy for some reason and I was told no that actually they are usually busier! She did say it was better to arrive before 10am. I did see you can join the waitlist prior to arriving on their website I was seated at the countertop seating and was immediately greeted and I ordered a mimosa fight. You can choose from the following mimosa flavors: fresh orange, fresh grapefruit, pineapple, peach, strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, or pomegranate, I chose orange, peach, strawberry. My, oh my, these may be the best mimosas I have had, so fresh, so delicious. I ordered the smoked salmon toast and a side of the crinkle cut fries. I did not have to wait long for the food to arrive so at least they are efficient when it comes to that. The smoked salmon toast was multigrain toast with smoked salmon, caper, cream cheese, fresh slices of cucumber, pickled red onion, and microgreens. This was a delicious toast, I love multigrain bread and it did not disappoint. The sourness of the pickled red onion gave it a zippiness that I enjoyed! My crinkle cut fries were hot and crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. I ate every single bite of the toast and the fries, so good. I ordered a chai tea to go and I will say I probably would not do that one again as it did not have the richness and spiciness that I appreciate in my chai tea. All in all I thought this was an excellent brunch place, a long wait list but excellent just the same.
