I've been wanting to try Wave for years but I didn't want to take the drive to Mount Dora. I had no idea they opened this location in Maitland. I am so glad they did ! They were busy but not packed on Saturday afternoon. The service was friendly and the food was fantastic ! They have indoor and outdoor seating. It was nice and Sunny this day (very hot outside) we sat inside. We love the artwork on the walls. My cousin and I went specifically for the sushi push pop but got so much more out of our visit. Decent sushi spot in the area! Needed to eat quickly, so we went in to see what the vibe was. We ordered a few things, the garlic rice, the roll with the plantain and another deep fried roll with crab on top. The cucumber salad was sliced cucumbers with sesame and ponzu sauce. There wasn't anything special about that and I regretted ordering it. The waitress was nice but unknowledgeable about the menu. She was supposed to find out about the salmon in a roll and she forgot. We have driven more than 3 hours (on more than one occasion) to eat sushi at Wave's Mount Dora location because we love it so much. So, when we were in Orlando searching for a sushi restaurant, and accidentally found out their new location was 1.8 mi away from our location, you can bet your sweet a$$ that we me to bee line for their front door. The space was a little smaller than what we remembered in Mount Dora, but the cool vibe, excellent customer service, and creative menu was exactly what we were expecting. We didn't go crazy because we only had the appetite to order a few things, but what we got was awesome. We definitely took advantage of their $5 hand roll special. We are in Orlando a lot more than we are in Mount Dora and we are so happy to know we can have Wave Sushi more than once or twice a year. read more

I came here for their Bite30 menu. Interesting place. Parking was a bit tight and going in it felt like you ordered at the counter and sat down, but no, it was table service and others seemed confused too. Casual for sure, but please at least get forks that won't bend in your hands! Looking at the menu they seem to have very creative sushi presentations. Cool, but what do they taste like? On the Bite30 menu I had the Fried Gyoza - Served with a side of ponzu to start. Very good. Then came my main of the Torched Yuzu Salmon Bowl - Served over garlic fried rice with crunchy onions & side of ponzu. Bowl? Well, not so much so. The salmon pieces were too big for single bites as well. It tasted great, but the presentation fell short. Where was the bowl? Unless you count the domed shaped serving of rice on the plate? The Mochi Trio was yummy but from the counter to my table it was already starting to melt. I think they could have done a lot better on that front too. Wave has gone viral for their crazy sushi creations so it's been on our visit list for some time as sushi fanatics. No better time to come in, with Bite 30 menu as well. I ordered the fries, sushi burgers, and for the mochi, I ordered 2 matcha and 1 mango. They let you pick which 3 you want. Not listed, they told me I could get a seaweed or cucumber salad as well, so I opted for cucumber. My husband and I could have eaten off just one meal from the Bite 30 menu. The portions were huge, but luckily he just ordered the hot dog off of the regular menu. The presentations were very beautiful. The fish was super fresh. The fries were hot. I wish to give them 5 stars because the customer service was great, but there was unfortunately a little hiccup with my food. Please don't be like me and accidentally place a pick up order to the wrong location! In my defense, I highly recommend that Wave double check the information on their website and Uber Eats - when you're on the Wave Maitland location and click the website to order, it defaults to the Mount Dora location. On Uber Eats, the delivery defaults to be from the Mount Dora location, but the pickup defaults to be from the Maitland location. Totally still my fault for not double checking, but wanted to mention it! This is where the customer service (specifically Sophia) was amazing! After realizing my order mistake, she tried every way she could to get in contact with the bustling Mount Dora location and was able to get them to refund my order, which was totally unexpected and amazing of the team. They then offered to make my order at Maitland instead of the refund, which was perfect. Food came out quick too, and Sophia made sure to get my order exactly as it was online. She really was the best front of house person and I really appreciated her! The vibe inside is casual and fun, with a beautiful mural on the wall. I got the Meat Lover's Sushi Pizza - spicy and a large portion! The crust is its own little maki roll too. I also had the Sunrise Roll which was delicious with the lemon slices. It did have a lot of rice so I took some of that off. Unfortunately there was a piece of plastic that I found in my roll, probably something they used to wrap the roll in while cutting it. I have been a big fan of Wave for a while now. I started going to their location in Mt Dora but was so happy when they finally opened a Maitland location (much shorter drive for me). The food is always so good and fun! The service is good and the ambiance is casual but colorful! They have a ton of yummy rolls to choose from but my favorite thing on the entire menu is the sushi hotdog! If you haven't been to either location, you must give Wave a chance. My camera did not eat first this time, but WAVE did not disappoint. I never made it out to Mt.Dora to their original location, so I love that this is so closer! I ordered the ichiban roll, which I found to be inexpensive at $15 for the amount of sushi I got! Sushi was put freshhh and took about a 15 minute wait given not many people were there! My first try of Wave Sushi, and I can honestly say I was not left disappointed. I will definitely be venturing back to try out more of their menu. On my first visit, I stuck with ordering my go-to shrimp tempura roll because I was not super hungry, but I knew I wanted something light to put on my stomach. The pricing was competitive with other local sushi eateries. The service was pretty good, considering it was fairly packed out for a Stranger Things Pop-Up Market. The overall space and ambiance were lively. As I didn't eat in the actual restaurant space (I took my food to go and ate at the bar next door), I cannot speak much to how the dining space is, but it looked as if there was a decent amount of indoor seating and some limited seating outdoors. As for the shrimp tempura roll, it was tasty. I definitely want to visit again to try one of their specialty rolls because they had a couple that caught my eye. They also serve alcoholic beverages, but I did not get the chance to try anything from their drink menu. However, pricing looked reasonable for those options as well. I have this odd and laughable obsession with food being shaped in the forms of different food. I visited the Wave in Mt Dora a few years ago and loved it! This Wave opened up way closer to my house so you know we had to try it. We placed our order online and took it to go. There is a decent sized parking lot as well as some seating inside and out. It's in a cute little plaza that has recently been popping (note to self to try other places in here). The krab rangoon mozzarella balls were delicious! It came with a great dipping sauce also. My poke taco and my fiancé's rainbow sushi burrito were both super fresh! It was clever how they made the outside of my taco crispy :) I'll definitely be back here especially since it's so close to my house. This was my first time visiting there Maitland location. I was surprised how quiet it was for a Saturday lunch. We were one of three tables there. I love sushi and the the fish here is super fresh. It's definitely more of a gimmicky place because of how much rice there ends up being. However, it's definitely good to try at least once. If I went back I would absolutely get the crab rangoon fritters again and I think I would try there Wednesday hand roll special. The crab rangoon fritters had the perfect mix of cream cheese and regular cheese so they were gooey but you could still taste the crab. I like the graffiti on the wall and the fact that you can see the chef making the meals in the front window of the restaurant. Parking was easy on site, and located in a social house with some other options to try for you'd please. Got the spicy tuna taco and tuna nachos. Service was quick and efficient. Loved the tuna nachos- the chips were fresh, loaded with tuna, avocado, spicy mayo, and crab. The spicy tuna taco- was good, but I was not a huge fan of the taco. My friend and I met up to try out the Wave location in Maitland! This location operates as fast casual so you're ordering at the front registers and then taking a number so they can deliver your food when it's ready. It was pretty quiet when I arrived which made it easy to sit and have conversation without having to yell over each other! The sushi fries were surprisingly really good! The spicy mayo really makes the dish, however unfortunately it is a LOT to have in one sitting even for two people lol! The Krab Rangoon fritters are so tasty! Idk how they have it crispy on the outside and so creamy inside but I was wowed! I will be dreaming of this food until I can make it back out here! Had some down time in between movies while I was attending the Florida Film Festival, so we popped over here to the new Maitland Social for a bite to eat. We wanted to get something from here and from Pizza Bruno, but Pizza Bruno was too formal and inaccessible. Not fast casual like the Wave was, so that settled that, an entire dinner from Wave Sushi. That was actually a blessing in disguise. There are so many delicious menu options at the Wave, I'm glad I didn't have to limit myself. So we ordered, we found a nice seat outside, and we got ready to chow down. It was counter service, and the folks at the counter were very nice. They walked me through all my questions about the menu. There were a few different ways to go. We started off with the Krab Rangoon Fritters (a smaller, round version of our viral krab rangoon mozzarella sticks served with a size of sweet chili sauce (4 per order)). These were fun. Fried little crispy balls with that sweet goon goo inside. Go ahead and ask for one of every dipping sauce so you can experience a variety. Very good. Then onto the Soft Shell Crab Taco (Tempura fried nori shell filled with fried soft shell crab, seaweed salad, sushi rice, scallion, sesame seeds, eel sauce, and masago). Insanely good. Very crispy, not greasy at all, nori shell. The crab itself was smaller, which was good, because it limited the amount of crab guts you have to eat on this delicate taco. Very good stuff. One of our mains was the Spicy Salmon Burger (Cucumber, seaweed salad, spicy mayo & eel sauce between two rice ''buns'' sprinkled with sesame seeds). Very fun. The buns were crispy and held together well, but they were bland, so back to ordering a lot of sauces. The fresh fish inside was very high quality. But it will fall out all over the plate, this thing is impossible to hold together, but that's ok. Grab a fork! On to the main event. The best food item of the evening. The Tuna Supreme Pizza (Salmon roll "crust" with spicy tuna base, topped with cucumber, edamame, avocado, red cabbage, spicy mayo, eel sauce, sesame seeds, and scallion). Wowww, what a good slice of pizza. The salmon roll crust was great. It actually gave you a good place to hold onto. The fried nori bottom of the crust held up remarkably well, and it added a nice crisp every bite. Topped with tons of delicious tuna, that creamy mayo, that deep umami eel sauce, and some other veg keeps every bite interesting. I loved this, and I will be back for it again one day soon. Overall, this place really wowed me. Really quality food items hidden under trendy, outlandish designs. Everyone should come try this place. read more

I only eat cooked sushi, so I was nervous seeing mostly raw options, but Kerrie Ellie (I know I'm spelling that wrong, sorry ) was super patient and answered ALL my questions without making me feel crazy, lol. Then the manager, Josh, came out and helped me decide, and somehow convinced me to try raw tuna... and I actually liked it! The staff were friendly. The service was quick. The restaurant was clean. We had a doggo with us, so we sat on the patio. (I love a spot with outdoor seating.) This is a quick serve place, so it is pretty casual. I was pleasantly surprised to find the salmon on my "burger" was SO. FRESH. All of the fish was fresh and delish! My only complaint about the burger was the sheer amount of rice. The "bun" is about a pound of rice, which is way too much rice for me. I ended up eating the fish out of the middle. (There was plenty of fish too, so I didn't mind.) The "pizza" had less rice, but it was still a bit much. Now the fried burrito? THAT was the winner. It was so good! The sushi tots I'd say is my least favorite, there is a lot of rice tots. Also ordered the spicy Krab bao. One thing to note is that the bao bun was fried, which anything fried is delicious. Their menu is interesting, they have taco sushi, pizza sushi and hot dog sushi. I do think their pricing is a bit higher considering you have to place your order and pick up after yourself. It's like a sushi Chipotle version kind of place. Overall the food was good. Ordered takeout from here. Had the tempura and the salmon roll. As it was my first time I didn't want to get to crazy with the choices. The shrimp was better than the salmon. Something about the salmon was off and I'm not sure I can pinpoint what it was. It was lacking the typical taste but it definitely was fresh. I ended up throwing some of my chili sauce on top to give it better flavor profile but in their defense it was just a basic roll. Finally decided to make a stop here, walked in to a mostly empty area, a trio sat inside and a small family eat in the small space outside in the nice weather. I was quickly greeted by the cashier and offered a laminated menu since the tv displayed different prices. I decided to go with something familiar so I did two rolls: MD ($13) and the Alaska roll ($9) plus a self service cup for soda ($3). The rolls were good but nothing wow. The fish was fresh, they were quickly devoured and I was happy to be on my way to run errands. I will return to do something more unique the next time. read more

This was our first time at the maitland location and we loved it! Definitely a different vibe in comparison to the mt Dora one but we admired the change. The entire building is an awesome little plaza with different areas and the wave location here is a standard quick service kitchen. There are a couple food items that aren't on the menu in comparison to the mt Dora location but the alternatives they had are just as good. We got the kani salad bao buns, the Crunchwrap and krab rangoon fritters and everything was fire. We don't come this way often but if we are back that way we will come back! read more
