The service was super quick as far as preparation of my food and it was all just as tasty as I remember! On a personal note, I am so sad that they got rid of the soft shell crab bao. However, as long as they keep the lobster one, I'll keep coming back! The seafood here is fresh. The amount of lobster is generous to say the least. I'm not a fan of tots so I take my food to go and get French fries from another location. My husband has tried all the other baos and hasn't found one he didn't like. His favorite is the lobster as well or the pork butt bao. The service here is nice and friendly. We normally order off of the self-serve counter but if I have any questions they haven't hesitated to help. It's located in the corner of a strip mall with a few tables and chairs. Came to King bao on a Saturday wasn't very busy. It was my first visit they are located inside a plaza in the middle. The inside has some awesome local art on the walls and also for sale. Plenty of seating I think and ordering was easy at the kiosk. Got the special and a Tarzan. The baos were out quickly and they smelled delicious too. My favorite had to be the glen rhee I loved the apple with the beef it was so nice and the Hogzilla was pretty good as well. Now the Tarzan was very unpleasant the banana was so mushy on a fried bao that texture wasn't good. But I would definitely get there savory baos again. read more

This is what great value for your dollar looks like. If you don't love a good Boa, you might not have a pulse. Soft, chewy, salty, creatively delicious pillows of joy. I've been to numerous places that charge upwards of $10 for a single boa. King Boa has created an extensive menu and even daily specials, boas of all kinds, for a whopping $12 for 3 high quality boas. These aren't just basic boas. King Boa doesn't skimp on the protein either. I went for the Firecracker shrimp, glen rhee, and kickin chicken. The firecracker shrimp is definitely the best of the bunch. The lemony sauce takes it over the top. The chicken is nicely breaded but lacked seasoning and chicken breast in general tends to be on the drier side, so a thigh would have been the best choice. The glen rhee offers loads of beef and a nice sweet contrast of apple. like I said, high quality and wildly creative! Came across King Bao and glad got something to eat! Menu is pretty simple which I love. I got the Hot Hot Chicken, which in my opinion wasn't really that hot. I thought the chicken was cooked to perfection and a nice buffalo sauce. The other one I got was Porky Rib Patty and the sauce was nice and pretty good. The tatchos were yummy! The meat that was on it was sweet and a great touch. Also if you're getting two make sure to get the combo deal. It's 2 baos with a drink and pretty filling. Buuuut I could've gone for another one. We got our food rather quickly, and the order process was super easy. You do it on an iPad and then just wait. The place is pretty big nothing crazy. Really just a spot to sit eat and leave. Don't get me wrong, their food is good but the location is not the move. My favorite bao is the hogzilla, the pork belly is juicy and is worth the price. I also got the firecracker shrimp, crispy but way too much sauce where it felt like it overpowers it. Upon waiting for my food, I notice the smell of the place and as well as the dirtiness of the drink dispenser. You can tell they don't often clean it. Not to mention, the soda are all water down and even the tea. You can taste the sink water mix in. Unfortunately this makes my visit unpleasant and I will not be back at this location. read more

Love having a good bao option near UCF. We used the self-service kiosks to make our orders, and the staff was quick to start them. We ordered 2 two bao combos and a Tarzan bao, all to be under $25. For our meals, we ordered the Firecracker Shrimp Bao, Hot Chicken Bao, Glen Rhee Bao, and the Hogzilla Bao. Hot Chicken and Glen Rhee Baos weren't our favorites, as the sauce overpowered the rest of the Hot Chicken, and the Glen Rhee wasn't as sweet as anticipated with the marinated Korean meat and the apple salsa. I wasn't a huge fan of the Tarzan, but only because it was a fried bao. This was my fault; I didn't know I'd feel so strongly about not liking fried bao buns. I've had King Bao in the past, and I've enjoyed most of what I've had from them. I feel like they have their hits and misses, but overall, I recommend giving King Bao a try! read more

I wish I could give this a 5/5. I love King Bao and have been eating here for years. The food is delicious, the service is quick, and it's an all around delicious Orlando spot. This location specifically is my go to as it is close to my house and other great locations. However, the situation that happened tonight has left me quite upset and conflicted about ever dining there again. I ordered over Uber, as I often do, and had the Tofu Katsu Curry baos delivered to my house. They have been a new favorite despite me missing the old ones with the onion relish. It's a long day, I'm tired and hungry, and looking forward to these baos. They look a little different, but I don't immediately think anything of it, maybe they changed the breading? I go to take a bite. Instantly spit it out. It was chicken. I'm a vegetarian. After chatting back and forth with Uber, all they offered was a partial refund of the baos (I got some tots for me and my mom). As my dinner was now ruined and I had bit into meat for the first time in years, I wanted a better resolution. I called this King Bao to see what could be done. I was initially told that "well it says chicken over here" which he quickly retracted when realizing he was looking at the wrong order. I was not offered a single apology. Any solution. Just told to call Uber as it was out of their hands. I was hoping at the least for an apology, something to make this feel better, because sure I can still eat the tots in theory. If I had an appetite after being given meat. I feel like that's truly all I want. An apology. Something to make me feel like I can order here again without being unknowingly forced to consume something I so consistently avoid. read more

Got the 2 bao combo which comes with a drink and added truffle tots separately for my side. Everything was very good & I'll be back in the future, not sure if I'll try anything else due to being picky, but the Chicken Katsu Curry & Hoisen BBQ Rib hit the spot. Truffle tots are very pungent but that means its real! The tots were extremely hot/fresh, I took them home to eat and they were still warm when I got back, but I guess that makes sense when you only live 15 minutes down the road. My only complaint is that I asked for no onions on my HBBQR but instead they gave me no hot pickles. I had to pick most of the onions off, left a few on for the flavor.. I guess I need to grow up. Would've loved to experience the pickles though! King Bao is still the king of the Bao places, in my opinion. Their combos are a great value and include 2 or 3 sandwiches plus a drink. The tots are always on point and they are pretty vegan friendly. It's one of the better local businesses and we're lucky to have one on this side of town. They are pretty good about subbing tofu into any of their Bao sandwiches. I've done the hot hot chicken with tofu instead of chicken, the BBQ rib with tofu instead of the rib and I will say that one works very well. The tofu isn't fried (if you want kick ass fried tofu, hit Viet Nomz at the other end of the plaza). The firecracker shrimp is one of my favorites and they have quite a few seafood options too and they have a higher price than some of the other Bao (and an upcharge for the combos) Indoor seating is back open and we were excited to go again and sit inside (they were one of the places that held out the longest). We have gotten them to go during the pandemic and some hold up well, but the "crispy" items didn't travel as well to our house. read more

Had been wanting to try this location for a while after knowing that the original location on Mills has great reviews. We ordered at the kiosk and it was super easy to use. The service was extremely quick - they immediately started making our food the moment our order went through. As for the food, absolutely delish! We ordered the porky's tatchos and the Glen Rhee bao off the regular menu, and then the hot hot chicken bao, Cuban bao, and bbq rib bao off the special menu. My favorite was the Glen Rhee bao - it was perfectly flavored and so good. The food all came out hot which was appreciated. The tatchos were also tasty and I could go for two orders next time lol. The bao buns themselves were perfectly fluffy and doughy and I could've eaten so many of them alone. My only complaint was that it was kind of hot inside so it wasn't the most pleasant eating experience, though I'm not sure if that's the usual or a one-off thing. I love this place and I love that it's Nita's crowded as the location on Mills ave. The food comes out super warm and pretty quickly. Each time we've been here, we have to order on the computer rather than with a person. I'd only request they allow a place in the ordering page to enter special requests like allergy information to avoid cross contamination. Wow what can I say. I like the selection of bapnthey offer. They have a speciality menu and their regular menu . I liked that they have a combo for two baos and a drink for eight dollars. I wish the drink was bigger. Now for the bao, I ordered the firecracker shrimp. Omg was I savoring the flavor , the shrimp was fried to perfection and I enjoyed the sauce that it came with it was tangy . I also liked the bits of avocado. I also tried the sweet potato bao and it was pretty good. I'm a big sweet potato person. I think the sweet potato crochet by itself was nice and the sour cream gave it a neat flavor. Great food, good service! We went in last night at 8:00 Pm and the place was not too busy. You could tell they had a lot of Togo orders though. We went to the cashier had some questions that she answered for us and then placed our order. The food came out in 10 minutes if it even took that long. I would go back if ever in the area. I got a sampler of bao via delivery, and I was excited to try it. I should mention that the food was still pretty warm when it arrived, but it still wasn't the piping hot freshness I assume it would be ordering in store, so take what I have to say with a grain of salt. The easy winner of the four bao varieties I tried was the gochujang hot chicken. The gochujang sauce coating the tender was sweet and sour, with just a hint of spice. I am incredibly spice-tolerant, though, so perhaps it might be too much for the average consumer. I didn't know how I was going to feel about the pickle slices on a bao, but it all ended up working very well! I was glad I got two of the hot chickens. The other offerings were very good as well, though not as good as the hot chicken. I think what it came down to was that they were all fried foods with thick, creamy sauces that weren't particularly acidic. I felt as though I needed a lot more acid to cut through the richness of the fatty fried crust and creamy sauce. The firecracker shrimp succeeded the most in this regard, with a nice lemon pepper aioli and a thin schmear of guacamole inside. When it arrived the guac had long since turned brown, but I'm willing to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt and say it's because the guac was in contact with hot fried shrimp for a long while before I actually got to eat it. The Oyster Po's fried bun was crunchy and delicious, but I found myself wanting more from the cajun horseradish sauce. I felt the same about the kickin chicken--the cucumber was a nice touch and welcomed in the midst of the fried chicken, but the sriracha aioli wasn't flavorful enough to balance out the chicken like the gochujang sauce. I felt like, overall, the dishes could be a bit more balanced and have some more acidity to them to balance out the heaviness. The kimchi tots were great, though. I love kimchi, so kimchi on anything is a done deal for me. Kimchi is super acidic and it's just fermented cabbage, so it works well as a balance to the fried potatoes. I also thought the sriracha aioli worked to great effect in this context, though I honestly think I would have preferred straight sriracha. Overall, I would recommend this place, but be forewarned that the food is pretty heavy for the small portion size. read more

King Bao is an absolute favorite in our house. Much like its neighbor, Viet-Nomz, this is a place that's always on the agenda when we have visitors in town. With my mom visiting this week, we ordered for lunch today. We normally prefer to dine in, but they've only been taking takeout/delivery orders for a while. We weren't sure how the bao would hold up, but they were juuuuust fine. We ordered a heck of an assortment and they were all delicious. Mr. S and I were jonesin' for some seafood and both got our own Oyster Po bao, he got a coconut shrimp, and I ordered a grouper and soft shell crab bao. The fried crab stayed crispy, but I'd rather have fresh in the restaurant as it didn't retain its heat very well. My mom got the kickin chicken and the glen rhee (a fave of mine) while my daughter got her fave avocado bao. All were devoured in short order without much small talk. They're just so dang good!! We ordered from Uber Eats and it was quick and easy. The food was actually delivered a few mins earlier than targeted so that was a plus. I highly recommend this place. After hearing about the buns at King Bao I decided that I just had to see for myself what King Bao had to say! While isolating in the Pandemic, I decided to order Uber Eats risking that the Bao buns may not be as tasty delivered as in the restaurant. Fortunately, King Bao delivered on all fronts (Laugh its Bunny)! We tried the Cuban, kicking chicken, Glen Rhee, the firecracker shrimp, and the loaded tator tots which were all delivered expeditiously and were very good. My favorite was the firecracker shrimp and the Cuban which should not be missed! Flavors were amazing, packaging was very nice, and delicious food. This place os nothing to look at, BUT looks can be deceiving. Never had bao before, I would describe ot as a Vietnamese sandwhich. The buns were wonderful, soft and tasty.
