From Hero to ZERO. Started doing business with them in 2018. Initially they came and resolved a problem in a manner that prompted me to give them 5 stars. But time will tell if a company is "all that" and I am sad to say Polar Cooling is not "all that." My first bad experience came when I had scheduled them to come check a unit (our house has 2, one for upstairs and one for downstairs) that was making a loud squealing noise when it started. A young man came to my front door and demanded I put on a mask or he could not provide service. I responded since all my units are outside it didn't make sense that I have to walk around in my own house with a mask on while he was in my garage or back yard. Next he had me powering the unit on and off and we could not replicate the problem. He told me the units were fine and I should pay him the $45 service call fee. I told him to have the office call me and I would provide a debit card number. He tried to tell me due to Covid they were a cash only service. I refused and he went on his merry way. Or so he thought. I followed up with a call to their office and explained what had happened and they told me there was no cash only policy and assured me they would deal with the technician. They apologized and sent a second technician. He decided I needed some form of start of capacitor. I paid for one on each unit and life was normal again. The next event was when I had the annual A/C Tune up performed. I had been doing these since the first service call and had become accustomed to the standard fee. Failing to get full disclosure of fees I was shocked when after performing the service in 2024 the price had sky rocketed. I was very sensitive to Polar pricing since I had already experienced one of their technicians trying to con me out of cash. I placed my complaint and after much debate they agreed to reduce the fee. So this year I called them to schedule a service call (one month prior to the A/C Tune Up) and I am told as a result of them having a larcenist technician and failing full disclosure of fees they will no longer accept me as a client. I guess since they checked the units out annually and tell me they are in good working order, only to have them fail I should realize who I am dealing with. So now I have a different A/C company in route that has committed to full disclosure of all fees prior to performing the work and guess what? They do not require you to pay cash! Zero stars for you Polar Cooling!!! read more

The new AC unit (5 Ton Rheem) was delivered and installed today by Polar Cooling. I made the arrangements through Manny. He is their sales Rep for this area. Setting up the sale and getting things settled went well. The installation was set up for August 9. The tech guys (Noel and Mario) arrived at 8 AM. Both were very professional and did a great job with install of AC and New Air Handler. I requested they run Copper line from Power Box to unit. We agreed they would do that using Conduit to house the copper line. There were other specific requests that were all met. This was arranged with Manny when setting up proposal. The unit installed has run great. The only issue is lights dim when compressor kicks on. I asked Manny about it he said they will attach device to compressor that will eliminate problem. Guys will be here Monday in AM to fix the issue. While installing Polar made other adjustments that benefited us as well. One item I did not get settled up front. (My fault) There were some areas where they removed boxes and installed new. They left a hole and an area that will need to be painted on the outside. I have a similar issue with trim on the inside. They would not make this right. Manny and I debated this issue for several minutes. I see his side that it would cost more but this should be included in the bid. We agreed to disagree about the issue. Should everything be O.K. the only thing I will likely remember is the cleanup work I had to do after they finished the installation, I suspect others will remember the same. Only human nature. Fairness to Polar, it is unlikely it would have made a difference in my choice of vendor. All that being said. Would I use them again? Yes, I would, should they allow a grumpy guy to remain a customer. Prior to the work Emma and I Spoke with Manny in the kitchen. We went over the proposal he emailed to us dated July 27, 2023. Manny assured us that the $8400.00 included everything. I specifically ask about Sales tax, Copper wiring and most everything I could think of. That was the amount of the charge. Written today August 12th. They did a very good job with installation. And their men were professional. I would use Polar cooling again, should the need arise. read more

Very impressed with this company. Had them come do a second opinion on my current issue due to my Home Warranty company sending All Seasons Heating and Cooling out to my residence to diagnose my issue. I advised them what I had going on and they found the issue in a matter of minutes after looking in my attic. I kept getting the story from All Seasons that there is nothing they could do due to the unit being to small. Turns out the insulated Flex Duct was off and I was Cooling my attic. I even pointed this out to the owner of All Seasons (Joe/Jose) and his sidekick (Art) and they were still oblivious to what was going on. I asked Manny to give me a quote for a new unit while at my residence. He drew it up and advised me of what I needed and told me he didn't care if if where I took it, but this is what you are going to need in the future. I sat on it for a month and gave them a call. Paid for the unit up front at 7:00 AM and they were at my residence by 1:00 PM replacing the unit and duct work. Everything was completed by 5:00. read more

In 2016 I needed to have my A/C serviced, new to the area I asked a lifetime resident who to call. He suggested Polar. I'm glad he did. Polar came out serviced my A/C. The service techs are professional, knowledgeable and nice. I usually have lots of questions that they always answer patiently, and they even change my 3 filters if needed. Last summer my A/C didn't cool as well as it has been. I have an older unit and instead of repairing it, I decided to buy a new heat pump. Polar service tech, 'Rockey' answered all my questions, and gave me a very reasonable estimate. I currently have a 4 ton unit, using my sq.footage and 10' ceilings, I could use either a 4 or 5 ton unit. They called later to tell me that they don't have in stock a 4 ton unit but would sell me the 5 ton unit at the quoted price, they could do the job on Monday morning (today is Friday) and there would be no charge for todays service call. He is extremely thorough and very informative with answers to all my questions (and I have a lot of questions). I asked him about replacing some of our older units and he gave me some options but wasn't pushy about selling a new unit. I REALLY appreciated the fact that he wasn't pushy. Other companies we have dealt with go crazy if the unit is over 5 years old on trying to sell you an entire new system. No heat from our heat pump. Called Polar Cooling because they had been very fair serving my moms unit. Tech was here within 2 hrs. Got a quote from both Daniel to repair and Manny to replace. No pressure from either one on which choice to make. Chose to replace and upgrade to a larger unit. Called on Thurs afternoon was offered to have it in next day. Chose Monday. Due to job ahead taking longer they were a bit past time I was given but Manny kept me updated. The crew arrived and in 2 hrs my new unit was in and working. All ducting checked and replaced where needed. Return replaced. The entire crew was very respectful and professional. If we ever need anything else it will only be with this company. They are the best. Everyone you come in contact with from office to installation are so courteous and professional. Wish I could give more stars. read more

Very Impressed! I called because I was having rain from my ceiling vent, and I would need to "defrost" my system, nearly daily - ruining many brand new air filters. Within 15 minutes of my call, Rob showed up to check the system. Very nice, professional - and indulged me with teaching me the system. He checked the entire system, cleaned out the plug - and only charged me $75.00. Had I known where/how to fix myself, I wouldn't have needed to call for Service, but I'm glad I did. Now I know. My parents purchased a unit from them in May of 2009. They came out to their house, installed it, and never put back the roof tiles that they removed. They left it stacked on our roof next to the new unit. It took them weeks to come back out to put the roof tiles back, after my mom kept calling them. Less than a year later, the new unit stopped working properly. It was getting hot, and AC did not work anymore. It would turn on and blow air, but never cooled the house. My mom called and someone came to fix it. Even though it was still under the one year warranty, they still charged. Winter of 2010, the heater stopped working. My mom once again called for them to come fix it. Now it is summer of 2011 and what do you know, the AC does not work. SAME PROBLEMS but different seasons. Yet, they continue to charge each time. They are currently working on our unit now. It is at hour 2. What has the repair guy been doing the last hour on the roof? Talk on his freaking cell phone. Yeah that's great! Waste my parents money! Why is it that the unit we purchased for $6k not work? And their response is it's past the one year warranty. Well that's fine but could you at least give us a working unit so we're not constantly spending more money on repairs?? It's supposed to be a NEW unit! Never again will we ever do business with that crappy company! read more
