Quality/Quantity - What a great find, and this review shows…read morethe positive power of Yelp. We discovered this local restaurant through Yelp, and so did the other 2 tables next to us. We found out at the end of our meal that one of the other tables was also from our hotel, a mile walk away. Overall, I think a simple menu done well. We got everything they recommended including the recommended beer from the table next to us. Plain Papadum & Chutney Tray - A must try! Suggestion, these two items should be together on your menu to avoid any confusion on pricing. The sauces also went well with our entree and naan. Tandoori Mix Grill - Good, perfect amount for both of us. As mentioned previously, we are light eaters, especially when traveling. This entree also came with a very light simple salad. Garlic Naan - I can eat this all day! This could even be my meal. After Dinner Chocolates - A nice unexpected touch. Atmosphere - Small local restaurant. Bathrooms need some TLC, but are functional. Indoor/outdoor dining; everyone ate indoors today. Open 7 days a week. Service - Good, had all 3 wait staff help us. This kind of confused us. They were good at upselling, but all 3 team members tried to upsell us. Not in a bad way, but it kept me laughing. I am a light eater, especially when traveling. They all made light small talk which was nice. It was obvious that everyone eating here was NOT local. They also have online promotions, see their website. Price - 28 pounds + tip. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success, I am so glad that you can benefit from Yelp. See you on our next visit as we were so happy with our hotel we plan to stay there again.

We had the puri with spice prawns, meat samosas and the lamb vindaloo. Each dish was great but the puri with spice prawns was the best. One small thing I didn't like the chutney plate which we did not touch (one of 4 they gave us) was taken from our table -we did not want it - and put on someone else's. Again we did not touch it, but. . . This is forgivable because it was so good.

We were staying in the West Drayton area before our flight home the next morning and still hadn't had any Indian food. We came across Simpson Tandoori and decided to give it a try. We are so thankful that we did because it was a wonderful meal to end our UK adventure! The restaurant is very clean and classy looking. The staff was unbelievably polite, kind and helpful (our sons hadn't eaten Indian food before so our waiter gave some helpful suggestions and modifications to their meal to make it more suitable for a younger child's palette). Also, the staff was helpful with my food allergies (gluten and mushrooms) so I could have a safe and enjoyable meal. We started with some papadums with various dipping sauces. I am not sure what all the sauces were--but one was like a sweet and sour, one was a pineapple or mango, one was spicier with pickled veggies (my personal favorite), one bowl was some chopped veggies and then a yellow sauce that I'm not sure how to describe it other than a flavorful mild sauce. Then, we each ordered a dish without realizing just how much food it would end up being; but it worked out very well because we got to share with each other and taste a bit of everything. The adults ordered: vindaloo chicken, tikka masala, chili tikka masala, garlic rice, pilau rice and the children ordered lamb chops and tandoori chicken (on the starter menu) and some chips. The food came out hot and exactly as we ordered. Everything smelled so good that I only took an overview photo of our table because I was too excited to eat it! I cannot say enough about the quality of food and service we received from this business. But I wish it wasn't an ocean away from us or else it would be a place we would frequently visit. I wish this business all the best and highly recommend it!

Very good, and obviously incredibly popular (stayed in this hotel more times than I care to…read moreremember and this is the first time I've been able to secure a table here...perhaps the proximity of Christmas worked this time?) Anyway, excellent Indian cooking....presented to a high standard. Dishes from all over the Indian continent, from the North to Kerala - so I guess, if you want to explore the tastes of a continent it's a great venue. The tandoor paneer (for me) was the highlight of the meal, juicy, tasty and absolutely perfect. Felt like a very 'Dubai' Dining experience with suitably large furniture, set piece decor, and plenty of space...prices were accordingly high...but ultimately well worth it.

Well-executed, higher-end Indian cuisine at the Hilton Airport Terminal 5 of LHR (thanks to Joshua…read moreJ. for tipping me off to the place!). The menu is extensive - and can be somewhat overwhelming to peruse and choose. However, the restaurant wisely offers a couple of different tasting menus of chef's selections, and my colleagues and I opted for this choice (hey, it was a long day of driving to get to LHR ... in a pelting rain to boot, what the Brits would call "bracing" weather). We started off with an amuse-bouche of an Indian tomato soup, followed by a variety of different pappadums and chutneys. To accommodate all tastes, we agreed on "medium hot" for the dishes - which at first, I thought was rather mild, but this was deceptive for the heat built up satisfactorily with each bite. For appetizers, we each received a flight of 7 different appetizers, comprising of fish, vegetables, chicken, beef, and shrimp (the waitress explained each one, but I'll admit to being at a loss to recall what they were). Some were terrific; some were merely okay. This was followed by about 5 different curries, no doubt representing different regions and styles -- comprised of lamb, chicken, prawns, and vegetable sides, accompanied by two types of basmati rice and a couple of kinds of naan. The best to me was the lamb, which had a great flavor and tenderness, but each of the curries had a nice distinct flavor profile. Finally, after stuffing ourselves insensibly, we were each rewarded with a flight of 3 desserts: a vanilla ice cream, a mini-creme brulee flavored with cardamom, and a green Indian dessert of which I can't remember the name, but it was outstanding! Coffee afterwards and I also have to say that it was a great brew (I'm guessing Malabar). The restaurant itself is quiet with a restrained decor to showcase the food, excepting the eye-catching wooden sculpture residing in the middle (literally, an elephant in the room - and no-one really talked about it ... ). There's also a Chef's table looking right into the kitchen and prep area; however, general dining room seating also has a good view of the chefs in action. Wait-service was excellent, cordial, and considerate, and very knowledgeable and helpful regarding the menu offerings. Well worth a visit if residing at any of the nearby airport hotels.

The restaurant has gotta be like 4x the size of Carnaby. Not just that, the ambience is way better here. The tables are way more spaced out, so you don't feel super cramped. The open space helps negate the strong Indian spices that emanate from the kitchen. And it just feels way more comfortable. Anyways, our reservation was right at the tail end of the breakfast menu hours and right before the regular menu began, so we were able to get a Sausage & Egg Naan Roll to start. Also had the Lamb Biryani, Goan Monkfish Curry, Mutton Pepper Fry, and Murgh Malai. I mean basically everything at Dishoom is great, and this was no exception. Service was fantastic. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming! I love Dishoom, so you'll have to find a reason for me to not come here. Really good stuff!
