A month has passed since I used the Groupon and I still find myself coming back for more. I also managed to buy a 3 months Unlimited Yoga Pack for $199 ($100 Off Summer Special). I am currently addicted to the YinShape Hot Vinyasa Class, a class in a very hot room (around 85-90 F) and the place gets hotter as the class gets bigger. I usually create a puddle of sweat around so I always bring a yoga mat towel on top of my yoga mat to avoid slipping. Face towels are also provided in the studio. Another favorite class of mine is the Slow Flow Candlelight. Everyone should try this. The class is so serene and soothing with candles spread all over the bamboo floor. How relaxing is that??? Giuliana is my favorite instructor so far. She teaches most of my classes. She sets the ambience for the practice and motivates you to breathe (to achieve Victoria's Breath aka ujjayi breathing aka oceanic breath) throughout the practice. Giuliana also encourages you to create a modified pose when the yoga pose is far too advanced. She's very helpful in guiding you with the poses, especially for beginners. Jackie also does a great job teaching. She has a very calm personality that draws you in thus creating a very tranquil mood. The studio is very eco-friendly. From the cool bamboo wood floors to the zero VOC paint on the wall, the whole place is environmentally and socially responsible. The studio is also equipped with 2 restrooms/changing rooms. I have really enjoyed the classes, the atmosphere and, most importantly, the instructors. I have had Giuliana for the majority of my classes, and she does a wonderful job at providing instruction on how to easily flow into the postures and creates a wonderful mood and focus during the classes. I've also had Jackie for a Hot Vinyasa class (she kicked my ass during that class, but in a really good way) and Lindsay for the Ashtanga Elements class. Another great feature about the studio is that everything is made with recycled, chemical-free and toxic-free materials. The studio offers a pretty wide variety of classes at convenient times throughout the day and evening. Also, if you attend a class and find some of the postures difficult, the instructors always offer different, easier options so you can keep with the flow of the class. I've only been practicing here for a few weeks, but the studio has already offered two great discounts on packages. If you're interested in trying yoga for the first time or simply want to try a new studio, keep an eye on the company's website - it posts when discounts and specials are available.

Disappointed to say that I'm officially leaving Club Pilates…read more I joined this club with specific weight loss and fitness goals, looking for an uplifting, professional, and safe environment to work out. Instead, my experience with a specific weekend instructor has been incredibly uncomfortable and unprofessional--ranging from her constantly complaining about being tired or sick, to making personal digs at me, and most recently, making a hostile face at me that forced me to walk out of class mid-session. Because of my job, weekends are the only times I can work out. Seeing this instructor's name on the schedule literally raises my blood pressure, and I haven't been able to use the membership I pay for. I want to give a shout-out to Lauren, the manager, who has been absolutely lovely, understanding, and validating every time we've spoken. But unfortunately, understanding isn't enough when little to no action is taken to actually correct the behavior. A gym/studio should be a safe space where you feel cared for and motivated. I also knew whatever studio I found would have some big shoes to fill (Core Collective A2 4eva). I took a chance on the new Royal Oak location of Club Pilates and I'm so glad I did! The space is clean, welcoming and chill; the instructors are friendly, knowledgable and inclusive. Same with my classmates. I see people from all walks of life in here seeking to strengthen their cores for the resistance. The breadth of equipment is great--I had never used a springboard before. The pricing is a wee more wallet friendly than other places, though I miss having a 12 class/month option. They also have a phone app so scheduling classes is a breeze. I also dig the "Activity" section where you can view your entire class history.

I first walked into the studio with several sports injuries and an extremely limited idea of what Pilates even was. The owner, Barb, is truly wonderful, and took the time to ask me about what my fitness goals were, what my current issues were, and where I would like Pilates to take me. Talk about caring- you're not going to get that anywhere else! My formerly problematic hamstrings and badly healed rotator cuff injury no longer pain me, thanks to careful and expert instruction at the hands of the Pilates Connection staff. Every instructor is highly trained, really down to earth, and very talented. They want to help you become your best YOU, and not in a cheesy way either: Pilates helps you inside and out. I've become so much more aware of how my body moves, and my flexibility is lightyears better- not to mention the amazing toning and strengthening benefits! Also, there is no judgment at the studio. Sadly, we haven't been able to make the group lessons or dance parties because we live quite a distance away and my husband's work hours are insane. We would very much like to continue our lessons, but the cost of the private lessons is a little more than we can afford at the moment. Just don't expect them to care if you actually know what you want. They will tell you what you want & will pay for. FYI - YouTube instructional videos ar way more pleasant than this company's staff.

The dance studio that was marketed to the landlord as a yoga studio, is small enough that the music volume can be controlled, however, the owner jacks the music up and wears a completely unnecessary headset all of which is entirely disruptive to the neighbors. Rude when approached. Overall terrible for the neighborhood. Don't recommend supporting.

The sequence was so well-rounded, and her cues made so much sense. I appreciate when I can tell a teacher really knows what she's talking about, and Christy is the real deal. The studio is absolutely beautiful and the manager Christy (different Christy from the teacher and owner!) is so, so delightful. Prices are great, parking is easy. Great spot!
