I have a son who has done aerials for a full year elsewhere. Because of Agora's policy and the way the children's classes are set up, they have the first and second tiers simultaneously. We were told that they would see if he would be advanced enough to place in the second tier within a few weeks. I've never noticed anyone actually take a second to evaluate any of the kids, but I have noticed some of the tinier, stretchier girls have been place with the second group. I get that girls are typically more limber than boys; but he is strong and skilled on the equipment.. Needless to say he's still in the first tier. So every week we go and every week he stands in line for approximately 30-40 minutes just to hang on a piece of silk or a trapeze or a Lyra for 15 seconds. We do this about 7-8 times and the hour is up. $160 for this for 8 weeks? It's disappointing. I guess my hopes were too high. Oh the other thing they get ya with is that in order for your child to be in the performance they have to register for the first course and that ends before the program, so then you must enroll in the next 8 weeks. I love the variety of classes that they offer and that each teacher has their own unique spin. I typically take the barre and strength training classes and between those two variations I have felt so much stronger than ever before in such a short amount of time. Also, it's super handy that all of the metro detroit locations are under one umbrella which allows me to have even more options as I tend to split my time between Royal Oak and Birmingham's locations. Would highly recommend checking it out especially with their amazing new member deal of 3 free classes!

Michelle is my favorite instructor and I really like her style of teaching: she's a little in-your-face (which I think is needed for the intensity of kickboxing) and really engaging. She is really good about talking to everyone during class and making sure everyone has the correct posture/sequence down. I've been to another instructor's class once or twice but found her to be slower-paced so I mostly stick to Michelle's classes. Definitely take a yoga mat, even when you go to kickboxing classes - there is about 10 minutes of stretching at the end of every class and mats are required for this portion.

The dance studio that was marketed to the landlord as a yoga studio, is small enough that the music volume can be controlled, however, the owner jacks the music up and wears a completely unnecessary headset all of which is entirely disruptive to the neighbors. Rude when approached. Overall terrible for the neighborhood. Don't recommend supporting.

The sequence was so well-rounded, and her cues made so much sense. I appreciate when I can tell a teacher really knows what she's talking about, and Christy is the real deal. Ana's barre class is also fantastic! Finally, PiYo with Becky which was a killerrrrr and such a good workout. Do it. The studio is absolutely beautiful and the manager Christy (different Christy from the teacher and owner!) is so, so delightful. Prices are great, parking is easy. Great spot!

Parking on a Saturday morning in Ferndale was shockingly not hard to find, you just have to pay unfortunately. It's not crazy expensive though. The entrance to push pilates is through the back of the building; I only found this out because I followed other people. Everything was already laid out and clean. The instructor checked everybody in individually as they walked in. The HIIT Pilates class was amazingly tough and satisfying. I enjoyed the music and instructor. The only thing I didn't like was a kid younger than 10 being there, and so many late people coming in messing up the flow. The instructor had to keep bringing out more mats and equipment when class already started. So she ended up putting the kiddo on the couch in the back so the late people could have a spot. Not sure if that normally happens but it was definitely a distraction to her and us. I understand 10 minutes being late, maybe even 15 minutes, but after that, I think there needs to be some sort of limitations

They were welcomed by the instructor with open arms and had their first experience working those accessory muscles. If you're looking for a welcoming environment, this appears to be it. Disappointed to say that I'm officially leaving Club Pilates…read more I joined this club with specific weight loss and fitness goals, looking for an uplifting, professional, and safe environment to work out. Instead, my experience with a specific weekend instructor has been incredibly uncomfortable and unprofessional--ranging from her constantly complaining about being tired or sick, to making personal digs at me, and most recently, making a hostile face at me that forced me to walk out of class mid-session. Because of my job, weekends are the only times I can work out. Seeing this instructor's name on the schedule literally raises my blood pressure, and I haven't been able to use the membership I pay for. I want to give a shout-out to Lauren, the manager, who has been absolutely lovely, understanding, and validating every time we've spoken. But unfortunately, understanding isn't enough when little to no action is taken to actually correct the behavior. A gym/studio should be a safe space where you feel cared for and motivated. I'm currently requesting a refund for the last 3 months since I haven't been able to safely use my classes, and I'll be taking my fitness journey elsewhere. #CustomerService #FitnessJourney #Accountability #Pilates
