I understand that the neighborhood is predominantly white and older, but that doesn't justify the disrespectful behavior I've experienced. They always talk in their own language and giggle, which is unprofessional and disrespectful to a paying customer. I called the salon to ask about the gel manicure and pedicure, and I was clear about what I wanted. On the phone, the manager said $66, I even asked if they charged extra to remove the gel, she said no. I went to the salon in person, and she confirmed that it was $66 for gel and manicure. I stay for the service, and end up getting charged $86. She said she misunderstood and thought I meant regular. That's not even true, bc regular is like $44. This is dishonest business and disrespectful. And not sure if all because I look young or because I'm Hispanic. No worries, I'll never go there again nor recommend it. I always get Tier 3 or special nail art done and I spend around $130-$150 on my sets. It's quality and I don't mind paying for what I get. I've had almost every nail tech in the salon. But my main girl is Amaya (who is now only at the HON studio). She always takes extra care and time on my nails to ensure everything is properly placed and is built to last. She has never done me wrong!!!! When I get my pedicures at the Rego Park location, my regular polish pedicures are done so well that they will last months... my gel pedicures last for a long time too. Overall, all the nail techs know what they're doing and they do it really well. Everyone is always so kind here and the vibes are always fun. If you go in the morning, it's more calm. For mamas like me, you're going to want that extra calm atmosphere in the morning so make sure you schedule your appointments then. But if you're also like me and you end up scheduling a night time appointment, that can be peaceful too. :)

When she began, she was very focused on my nails, taking her time and care to buff and sand away my cuticles, I wasn't cut or overfiled anywhere! The tech was not lazy and did every step meticulously which resulted in a pretty (and sturdy!) set of nails. My nails dont feel flimsy or like they might pop off or snag on something. there was no acrylic left around the nail that would cause lifting, my nails were cleaned very nicely. Despite the glitter gel color needing 3 coats, along with top coat, the set came out to $38. I would gladly pay that price again for this kind of work! All in all, I'm definitely going back!
