Was in the area and decided to look for nail salons near me that offer Paraffin treatment. I called and they were able to accept me within five minutes. I arrived, was immediately seated for a pedicure. This place is IMMACULATE, with an open feel, lots of pedicure chairs, all new modern equipment, they have private rooms for massages and lots of colors you can choose from. Michael was very welcoming, and referred to many of the clients by name. Maria did my pedicure and oh boy was she spot on with the massage so much so that I opted for a ten minute shoulder massage afterwards. Her massages are deep tissue so if it's not your preference keep this in mind. There is a small shared parking lot however it was full upon arrival. I was able to find parking nearby for free. I found this place about a month ago on Apple Maps/Yelp, looking for a new nail salon to go to. This place already had great reviews and reasonable prices. I went as a walk-in and my immediate reaction to walking inside was that it was spacious, updated, and VERY clean! There are many nail technicians working, allowing for many customers to be serviced at the same time. Michael, the owner, is very friendly and puts the customer's comfort at the top. I went there after some time. The owner is always welcoming and nice / he even remembered my name lol Which is nice. My nail experience today weren't so good as I thought. I don't know if the lady was a new who work there today or just wasn't very good in what she is doing. My pedicure wasn't as I thought it will go. when it comes to cleaning around nails the dead skin. She did almost nothing when it comes to cut the dead skin around and after all had to ask her to reapply nail polish and a bit fix some of nails they didn't look right. When it comes to manicure same issue. Had to tell her to clean better dead dry skin I had around my nails and also wasn't very happy with thickens of nails. Some were made good some were too thick and wavy. When I come there again / and if I come I will make sure I won't have the same lady. My experiences to come to Micheal nails is like to go to casino. First time coming here after many years of going to the original and I was not disappointed. There was a short wait as a walk in but they accommodated me within 10 mins. Amy did my pedicure and my nails and was extremely professional and took her time. I showed a reference photo of what I wanted and she nailed it. The salon has plastic dividers in place and take your temp upon arrival and mask are required so the precautions make you feel safe. The only downside is they are a little pricey but for the quality it is well worth it. Would recommend. read more

I loved coming here in the past but I've since realized that the quality has for sure gone down hill. I decided to get an SNS manicure and a gel pedicure. Starting with the pedicure, I've had much better! I don't know if it's the gel or the way they prepped my toenails, but there's a weird thing going on along the edges. I wiped them down with Alcohol but its just like that which is fine, as I'll just never come back here for a pedicure. That's all. Piggybacking on what other have said, it's not the most thorough professional pedicure I've gotten, I'll leave it at that. My SNS manicure was okay. Unfortunately, the glitter didn't come out exactly how I pictured (no fault of there own as she even asked me before hand in case I wanted to change it) but unfortunately the SNS chipped on one nail and I had to get it fixed locally with w/ a color that didn't match exactly, but again, I'm going natural and slowly growing them out so as long as they look clean and maintained, it's fine. The local place did a better job on the SNS as it isn't as thick and looks more natural. It also has never broke on me unless I waited too long for a fill, so I think their dip powder might not be as strong as my local area. Not good for those recovering from the acrylic nail wars. Which makes me wonder why I traveled this far in the first place? Lol nostalgia? I don't know. Overall, a mundane review for a kinda mundane experience. I've gotten better work done locally and personally do not think I'll be back unless it's an emergency and I have no where else to go. read more

The massage during my lavender spa pedicure was outta this wooorld I almost fell asleep in the chair. I came in yesterday after having unfortunately Another Bad experience at Nail Tek. My nails were partially done by the last place. Susan greeted me with a smile and asked if I could wait 15 minutes she would be able to accommodate me. She fixed the mess that Amy did at nail Tek and finished my fill. She did a great job and was very kind. She and the other employees did not behave like they were doing you a favor or you were Inconveniencing them! It's a horrible feeling and I don't know why people bother working with the public if they are going to be mean to them. The salon is very clean and quiet. They also have 2 large flat screen TV's. The prices are very reasonable and they have many colors and options on nail design. I came today for a pedicure and Sue remembered my name and was so pleasant. Literally all employees smiled when I walked in and when other clients walk in they do the same. Positive ambiance. I got the lavender pedicure and it was so nice because she did not rush through it! I really felt like I was getting my monies worth! It was the same with my fill manicure last night. She did not rush through it so I checked it later it truly looked flawless. I used to go to Michael's all the time Luna is amazing I normally would recommend but just today I went in for a gel pedicure with Michael for my bday and was told rudely he didn't want to do my nails cause I'm always complaining or that I like it a certain way and he can't make me happy when in reality why would I have came there in the first place for service I felt extremely uncomfortable he left me sitting in the pedicure chair like an idiot for 30 min without a single acknowledgment for my birthday?! Crazy to me you tell customers you don't have polish go somewhere else "I can't make you happy" why cause I use another nail place and come on when they are closed crazy to me !!! I'm very disappointed I will never return ! And I'll never buy any gift certificates so none else has to be in my position for a holiday weekend beware they are not nice! I haven't said anything in years cause I do admit to wanting it perfect but if it's your only profession you should be a shining star really unfortunate!!!! read more

I've been spoiled by my years at Floris Spa in Atlas Park- but since they've been forced to close, I'm stuck with one of the 13 nail places on the Boulevard. I can't really complain about the service, which was fine- but my two gripes are 1) they need to get the disposal packs of nail files and buffing blocks that get tossed with every customer, and 2) they need to do better than their crap selection of polish. Yeah, I get it- OPI is expensive, but it looks 1000x better. I'm also curious as to how long my mani will last, as the tech didn't use the bonding agent before the base coat. Michael will always try and accommodate walk ins as well as work to get all appointments in within a reasonable amount of time. This shop gets exceptionally busy as a heads up. My nails generally turn out decent but it is hit and miss -Michael did them today- The price isn't bad at all... $35 for a fill...lots of colors to choose from, pedicures available too! read more

I've been going to Michael's 2 on and off for the past 2 years. I bounce around from place to place depending on where I am, I tend to get my nails done on my lunch break in the city a lot. When I'm in the neighborhood, I'll always go to Michael's first, I really like the way they do nails. Most importantly the women working there take their time, are very nice, and the color selection is decent. I've gotten a manicure, pedicure, gel, and SNS at Michael's and I have no complaints about any of these services. Their gel and SNS selection is larger than their polish selection, you may not find the color you want; Essie, OPI, and Color Club are the brands they have. Michael's is open until 8PM Mon-Sat, Sunday closing is 6PM. It's hard to find a nail salon open that late, so this is another reason I love going, especially when I'm in a bind, but I'm not alone because it is always packed on the late night! I was there last night and I waited 1 hr for a pedicure and SNS. Michael is honest and will tell you the wait it long, he will not refuse you which is good; when I left last night at 8:30 PM they still had customers! They honor appoints so those are always priority, which is fine, if you're looking for a quick mani & pedi you might want to call ahead or you'll be stuck waiting. They have loyalty cards, so when you reach your 10th service you'll get a free mani. read more

This is literally the best nail salon I have ever been to in my entire life, and I am a nail freak! I have been to dozens of nail salons, and this one is by far the best in so many ways. Not only is the owner Michael, one of the sweetest men in the world- but he also always makes it a point to remember his customers names and make sure they feel special. The salon is beautifully decorated, and so clean which is so important and really makes the customers feel safe. My friend took me here after I was unsatisfied with my local nail salon's work, and now I am a dedicated and happy customer - I always make sure to visit every 2-3 weeks. Every single nail tech is INCREDIBLE, welcoming and SO talented. My nail technician is Mia, and she is an absolute ARTIST. Every time I come to my appointment with a crazy design or reference image from Pinterest or Instagram- she always matches the image EXACTLY- and sometimes evenIf you are looking for an AMAZING, kind, welcoming and TALENTED nail technician- go to Mia!!!! I am amazed every time I get my nails done because of her beautiful artwork on my nails. I see mia for my powder gel nails and pedicures and sometimes i splurge with a little massage and she is just amazing. Update 9/3/20 - Michael's has done an amazing job making the place sanitary and safe during this pandemic. Your temperature is taken as soon as you walk in, and you are given hand sanitizer immediately. There are plastic curtains between each customer both at the manicure and pedicure stations. All staff wears masks and has you sign in when you arrive with your contact information. So happy they reopened and have made it such a great experience! read more

While the facilities are best updated the customer service is severally lacking. I had services provided to me by Sophia and the entire time it felt like an ordeal. Really crappy service provided, and the owner, Michael, argued about what I paid extra for - when I needed her to fix her mistake. He laughs it off, but it's quite disappointing to leave a nail salon with a broken nail. Furthermore, the 5 days after my visit every single nail had broken off (these were my natural nails). I've never been so dissatisfied and upset. The nail he refused to have repaired ended up causing me pain and I dealt with a swollen finger for 2 days. Disgusting. read more

I would highly recommend that staff stay away from speaking about customers. You never know who is in front of you. While I may look like like I don't understand what you were saying about me and my daughter when we get to got tips, we heard you and your rude comments about our nail beds. I was already feeling self-conscious about losing my nail in an accident, didnt need to hear two staff members joking about it. We heard how annoyed you were when I asked you to put a design on my daughter's nail. It was the mean girl's club. Michael wasn't there so I don't know if that would have made a difference. I went in there for a filling and I was drilled to death I bled multiple times because of the drilling and the woman wouldn't slow down I shouted at her and she finally put some solution on it. I paid for quick dry and my original $20 bull came out to $30 which included tip that's super expensive and I'm still not impressed my nails look jacked up and IJUST GOT THEM DONE YESTERDAY! not even 24 hours ago all I can say is never again. I do think Michael's nails is very presentable and clean; and every experience i had there is "satisfactory" that being said I was not blown away by a superb manicure, it all depends on the nail tech that worked on may nails. 2 weeks ago I came to get my UV Gel fill. A week later ALL 10 fingers were lifting and 3 lifted so badly that it came off. I wanted to write this place off but I also know that people make mistakes. So I decided to give it another chance. I called at 9:30 asking if Luna can take me. I spoke to Luna herself who told me to come at 11am instead because she has a client now. I get there at 11 and Michael tells me that Luna is booked for the day. What!?!?? Against better judgement I let Michael do my nails. Instead of getting a fill I decided to get a new set because I HATED the way Susan(?) did my nails 2 weeks ago. Almost 2 hours later none of my nails are the same shape, the sides of my nail look barely touched and they're all different lengths!!! Saw me right away was def a good exp and my pedicure is going on two week and still looks great will be a regular.

So I have been going to Michael's now for the past 5 months, regularly and I was very happy with my nails and there staff.. But today I went there for a gel manicure and it normally cost $25 but today it was $28. Because I ask them to shape my nails differently .. so $3 extra witch I wouldn't mind paying if my nails were shaded differently they came out nice but there wasn't anything extra done to them.. I had round nails and I wanted almond and there almondish but nothing crazy was done in my opinion to have an extra 3 bucks added.. and I usually go there every 3 weeks and was unable to go last week so the girl who did my nails made a comment about me not being there in so long..
