Normally I go here but I was sadly not happy because I did a nail dip in Miami and LG nails would not remove it with the drill... I do not like the acetone submerging as it is not good for my skin and I itch for days after. I called another salon and they said they would gladly remove it with the drill... Let me start off by saying i will NEVER get my nails done by these people ever again. If it's a man who's going to do your nails when you walk in, RUN! He is very rude. He gave me a gel manicure and rushed the whole way through. While rushing, he cut me several times and breezed right through it and did not apologize for it. He just acted like it never happened. Then he managed to squish the nail polish on one of my nails and get nail polish all over my fingers instead of my actual nails. I asked for a refund and he cut me off and pretended to ignore me. Then when I demanded a refund due to his service, and how he cut me so badly, he got an attitude and started YELLING IN MY FACE. I kept calm because I just know as a black woman, he could try to paint me out to be an aggressive person which I am not. I then went up to a second lady and she told me if I did a soak off i would get my refund so i agreed. Then both her and the man who did my nails retracted their statement that i could get a refund at all and fought me tooth and nail. The only reason why I even got through to them is because other customers noticed how rude they were being to me and stepped in. Needed a pedicure and decided to give this establishment a try. My review is solely based on the SERVICE I received from ELVIN. His service was absolutely excellent. He took his time, he didn't rush. The scrub and the polish was exactly what you expect when you imagine a good pedicure. His attention to detail is precise and I highly reccomend him. I've been to this salon 3 or 4 times and while I haven't left unhappy, here's the tea: Sammi has done some beautiful fills/full sets for me. However, she uses too much monomer. I know that doing so makes the acrylic easier to spread but, it also makes the acrylic drip under the nail. I admit that I'm anal about my nails and I hate that. The biggest con of this place is that it is filthy. I saw another reviewer say that their price point and their lack of cleanliness do not align and that is the gospel truth. I've never had to wait to get my nails done here so, I know the staff has a lot of time on their hands (pardon the pun). A health inspector should be sent to this establishment. It is absolutely disgusting--the dirt, grime, dust all over the place. They don't clean any of their equipment and they don't sanitize their instruments. And to add insult to injury, they have a cash only policy. I wonder how they report their earnings. It looks like no one there has a license to operate. And as your sitting there, with no tv, even though they have a large screen tv hanging on the wall, nor any music, you have to listen to the constant talking of a particular worker, who from the moment I got there to the time I left, did not shut up! I used to go to this salon in high school but haven't been back in years. I went last year with some friends because it was their regular salon. I didn't enjoy my experience since I had to return to fix the color. They day after I got them done the color changed! I decided to try them again yesterday since I didn't want to wait for 2 hours at my usual place and again the pretty blush pink color I chose changed to a peachy nude! They keep their nail polishes too long and the color selection is slim. Won't be back to this salon. The color on my toe nails was the color I chose. Very disappointed in the outcome. Thanks Jayden for making my sixty year old hands look young and beautiful again.  I've never received so many compliments before, even from strangers. This was my first visit to this nail salon on New Year's Eve. I was fed up with my old salon that I had went to dutifully for 5 years.  I loved my manicurist but hated the rude and greedy owner.  When my manicurist left (supposedly she went back to China), I knew it was time for me to find another salon.  I found LG Nails on a fluke.  My beau and I were looking for a vegetable store in the area and stopped at a red light in front of the salon.   I heard a clairvoyant voice say, "Come hither" and I went in.  Lol I had a really good vibe about this salon.  Upon entering everyone shouted, "Happy New Year" and welcomed me.  It's a real "NYC Melting Pot" experience. People from all races, religions, cultures, sexes, ages, economics, education, etc. were being serviced.   Very Kumbaya. I wanted a spa pedicure and a new set of coffin shaped tips.  The manager introduced me to Anna for my pedicure.  She was very personable and knew how to give me a "Sha Nay Nay Pedicure" ( Watch Martin's Video: https://youtu.be/eXhPgpEeD1c). Lol. This nail salon has over 13 nail stations and 6 deluxe pedicure massage chairs. I'm 5'11" and the pedicure chair was very comfortable for a change.  I'm usually squished up in some small chair with painful pounding and knocking in the wrong places, instead of a soothing massage.  The pedicure by Anna was excellent, good massage, calluses gone, and toe nails glissining.  While receiving my pedicure, I met another patron with gorgeous nails who said,  "I don't care who I get.  They're all good." She further explained she had been coming to LG since they opened and that in order to work at this salon, the staff are well-trained, must work as an apprentice, and must deliver consistent and excellent quality services (or else). I should also mention that I observed good hygiene practices and a very clean environment with my own blue plastic wrapped pedicure bowl and clean utensils Then I was I introduced to Jayden.  Jayden is a Master nail tech.  It seems everyone speaks English  well and are friendly, which I really appreciated.  Jayden was sincerely interested in me and offered tips on how to care for my nails and skin in between appointments.  The entire experience took about 1-1/2 hours, which was great because I wanted to get in and get out. Cost The prices are AMAZINGLY inexpensive especially when you consider that they are double in Manhattan. Spa Pedicure: $27 which includes a 5-minute foot and calf massage.  Optional $3 for callous medication, $7 for skin conditioner, and $1 per minute for extra massage. Set of New Tips with 1 free nail design: $25 Plus customary 10% (or more) tip. My beau got a manicure too. Lucky me!  I received another massage with his nice smooth hands for New Years. So i was in the market for a new nail spot with various decals,foils,dried up flowers etc. The spot was in the hood but honestly a whole covid violation. No divisions were by the pedicure station just nail stations. There was an old rug from like 1997 that was pretty gross. BUT HEAR ME OUT.... the nails were AMAZING. like a true work of art!' Been going here for years. As of lately, the past 6 months, there's always an issue w my nails. Falling off, the paint coming out within 48 hours. It doesn't last, they upped their price bc of cleanliness rules etc. which I understand and But please keep your quality the same. Go somewhere else! The customer service has gone down a lot. The guy in the front (young with glasses) is great I've been going to him more often even tho they raised they prices tremendously. They literally charge you for everything. I come here all the time for Karen to do my gel mani, she does an excellent job. Today I came in just for a take off of gel and cleaning of my nails(Karen was occupied and I didn't have time to wait). The lady who did it, did a horrible job. There was still residue from the gel on my nails. She was new and didn't have a name tag.. one of my nails were broken on the sides and I asked for acrylic and the guy who did it was rushing and messed it up and had to do it again. I could tell he didn't want to do my nails,he was rough and he when he was filing my nails they were breaking on the sides. I have been getting my nails done here for about 2 years, I usually go to Jayden which is amazing. This time I was in a rush and couldn't wait for him so i went to Tiffany. I had gotten French tip dip powder which I usually get with Jayden and pay 50 dollars. Tiffany over charged me 65 dollars. When I asked why she said it's because of the way she did my French tip and how I asked for coffin nails....she told me that the French tip was harder to do because instead of making a straight line she made a curve with the line...I came back the next day to speak to the manager and he just told me a completely different reason as of to why my nails came out to 65 dollars.... this is one of those nail salons that will over charge you depending on who you go to. I have been a loyal customer and I am sad that I have to find a different nail salon further from home. Ps I have gotten marble design on each of my nails with dip powder and the total was 60 with Jayden.. and regular dip powder with gel is usually 39. Well that's atleast what I was paying. read more

TERRIBLE!! Ive had a few people around the neighborhood recommend this place, so I decided to try. The first time the woman did my polish & put so many layers my nail lost its natural shape & looked clumpy. Decided to give it a try and "Mandy" was an absolute nightmare, after asking me to do gel polish a good 15-20 times and me declining because of the last gel polish experience, she became disengaged in doing my nails. She did such a half ass job my original nail salon could tell I was in pain due to the half cut ingrown nail she created. Then when it came to doing my polish, she proceeded to tell me the color was too light. I was pissed because the color she was trying to get me to do for gel polish was even lighter. I was so irritated at that point I picked a color I didn't like that was darker to just be done. The proceeds to ask me to do gel & design AGAIN. Not to mention, my other shops will atleast file me down to my original length after grown at no charge. After refusing her "$3 cut down" (another example of her constant nickle and diming) she wouldn't so much as file the tips at all.I have no desire to return, and if I have to- it will NOT be to Mandy or anyone further than 3 chairs down from the door. I've been a customer here for many years, but no longer as of today. Through the years, I could tolerate the surly manager because the nail technicians were always welcoming and attentive. I got in, got out, and dealt with bad polish jobs on my own since I'm usually pressed for time. As a busy mom, getting a manicure is a great pick-me-up and a time to relax. I'm also a creature of habit so things have to be really bad for me to change up my routine. Unfortunately, the time has come. Recently, the manager has changed decor to keep up with the competition next door. However, while aesthetics are okay, the quality of work has gone to crap! I've noticed that most of the usual technicians have left. There are only a few that I recognize. During my last visit, the filing of my nails was terribly uneven. My cuticles were not pushed back so the polish looked off. Furthermore, the polish was streaky and clumpy on top of being the wrong color. I can't remember how many times I had to correct her. Who needs that?! I want to close my eyes and wake up to beautiful nails. If I shut my eyes for a second, I'd find another mistake like an eye lash stuck in the polish. I actually had to ask a few times to have that nail redone. She just tweezed it out, leaving a big dent. Whatever - I was exhausted at that point. I left and wrote it off as a bad day. Today, however, I went in again for my simple and usual Mani-Pedi. I reminded her, yes, the same technician from the last visit, of which color I had selected. She was on her phone again, but I intended to keep a close watch this time around. Okay - so far so good. The filing was acceptable. Great - it was going well. Next up were my cuticles. I don't like having the electric drill/filer used on my nails as I find it very damaging. My nails become thin and tear easily. With that said, I had to convince her to simply push the cuticles back and trim with the appropriate scissor thing. What followed was a complete butchering of three of my cuticles. She hacked and pulled on my poor skin. I couldn't believe the amount of blood. I have been nicked before, but this was ridiculous. After trying to hide it, then smothering my fingers in antiseptic and cotton balls, the tech only apologized after I complained. She was going to proceed to add polish to my cuts when I stopped her right then and there. The manager was completely indifferent, he refused to reimburse me for the Mani, saying the job was technically done. I couldn't believe the terrible customer service after all these years. They've lost a loyal customer over $5, which was all I asked for given the inconvenience. I'm left feeling shitty, out of my money, with red, sore and swollen nail beds and without a pretty manicure. Screw this place which doesn't care about keeping long time customers. Go next door to the new place. They're new enough to probably give a shit about service. I'd give a negative 1-star if I could. Very dirty (I went in at 10:05 am , on Sunday morning, five minutes after opening) the floor was clearly not vaccumed. none of the items my nail tech used came out of a sanitized pouch. I know women that do go here and swear by this place, it seems you have to go to the three "highly requested" nail techs that work here to get good service .
